I was a resident of Classic Property Management for 3 years. I had alot of problems with my unit within the the 3 yrs there. The garage door broke several times and was forced to leave it open overnight numerous times all night until the repair man got there. I was told by maintenance and several others I had one of the nicest units there. I also do property Management being a real estate broker. Then everyone who would stay was getting sick. I decided to have the air ducts cleaned with my own money, which is where the BLACK MOLD issue was found. I had been sick, taking shots every month etc and nothing was helping. Dog gone mold came out and provided a mold record that there was mold in the return air vents which were covered up and hadnt been checked in who knows how long. They proceeded to send there maintenance man out who clearly had no clue nor was trained to deal with mold. He scrubbed the blk mold off under the carpet and cut the pad that was completely blk with mold out and covered it back up with the moldy carpet which fixed absolutely nothing then didn't even show up to finish the job. I had no choice but to move. Fast forward to getting my deposit back. I lived there 3 years and just got my invoice and they took 660.00 to change a few light bulbs, and 231.00 to clean the carpet for the next tenant. The rest was for touch up paint which is crap since I lived there 3 years. So just know, you won't have a prayer of getting your deposit back because they will find ways to keep it. After 3 yars its expected to do some touch up paint but why am I paying to have the carpets cleaned for their next tenant. When I moved in it was filthy so I was forced to have a cleaning crew come in before I could move in and I left it spotless. I was charged to take down a satellite dish that was there when I moved in. Just total bogus charges. Total racket and BEWARE OF BLACK MOLD. Happy to provide pics if anyone needs them. read more

Most of the time people get on just to bitch about the negative experiences that they have with companies. I'm here today to tell you about being a tenant with Classic Property Management. Kim is the best!! Always quick to respond and is on top of some of the issues we have with this house. It was built in 1890 so with any house that's 130 years old it's going to have its misc issues. If I could give this place less than one star, I would. They have dropped the ball several times from the application, to over 6 months into a lease at one of their properties. Not only to me, but their client as well. They never answer the phone or return calls. They can't even get the correct address to send a statement to, even though they rented this home at this address. Or they never sent it. They will never take responsibility when they mess up, which is often. This place has costed me time and money. I would not recommend renting from them or using them as a property management company. I wish I had read the other review on here before choosing to rent one of their properties, it is true -they are completely unprofessional and awful! My mother was at my home babysitting when a wild animal got in the utility closet and she called to speak with the office staff and they hung up on her! Then my air went out on Saturday and I reported it immediately and still no one has gotten to us, it is supposed to be in the 90s on Saturday and I have two very young children. I hate the thought of them being in these high temperatures over night. My lease is up at the end of the month (thankfully) but when my new landlord called to get a reference they informed him it wasn't up until September and that they couldn't tell him if I paid rent on time or anything else. Yet they could disclose false information regarding my lease? Just terrible. read more

This is honestly the worst rental company my husband and I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Being a military family and coming to a new installation typically rental companies work well with you. This place is far from that. Upon receiving orders for Fort Leavenworth we began house hunting and immediately found a house that looked perfect for us. When calling the company with questions we could not speak with a real person and left several messages and emails which were promptly returned..several days later. After being told they expected us to view a property before taking an application from us, we were then told it would cost $100 for a joint background check. We had no issues paying however they were unwilling to expedite the process due to military orders. We were told the background check takes 5 business days, to inspect the property could take up to 3 business days as well and then to dewinterize the property could take days too. Basically we would be unable to get into the home for 4 weeks. We would be unable to get our belongings until we had an address so it just made it very inconvenient. Plus I am pregnant and due soon and still no drive or desire to help us out. If I were the homeowner I would want to know why I'm paying a rental company to help rent out my home but who are not willing to get a qualified renter in asap. Classic Property Management in KC is not someone you want to do business with. They will be a seemingly decent company to do business with until the end of your lease period. At that time they will do everything in their power to keep every bit of your deposits and force you to take them to court to recover your money. They also will simply deny any request to sublease the property if you move out early. Stay away. Find an individual to do business with. They were unwilling to accommodate to us and our schedule, we had to accommodate to theirs. Also they did not disclose all the legal information going on with the property until last minute. If you're planning on renting with Classic Property, expect to not receive your full deposit back. We left our rental property SPOTLESS. It was actually cleaner than the day we had moved in. Our carpets were brand new, and we had only lived there for 11.5 months. They took $500 from our $1500 deposit. $500 even, stating that's how much the cleaning company cost them, and the carpet cleaning crew. I was at the walk through with them, and she stated the place was so clean they probably wouldn't hire a cleaning crew and would just do a "spot clean". she then stated she would see no reason why we wouldn't receive back our deposit in close to the full amount. We waited a full 30 days after move out when it finally arrived to us, they already had a new tenant in the rental. As discouraging as it was to not receive the full deposit back I was thankful that we did receive some, because after reading close to 500 reviews on yelp/Facebook/ and google, almost every person DID NOT receive any deposit back, and some actually got billed after the fact for damages that were there when they moved in to the property. Not only were the people complaining about the lack of deposits/troubles with their move out, a woman from their office was arguing via Facebook with the previous tenants. She had enough time to argue on there, but not once out of the multiple times I called did she ever pick up the phone for maintenance issues, she would respond days later in an email....must feel more confident in doing her job behind a computer screen. Do not be deceived, rent from a private owner if you're able to. P.S. the tenant that moved in after us stole two of our credit cards, that were accidentally sent to our old address and used them. Classic Property is not as big on "background checks" as they claim to be. If I could post zero stars, I DEFINITELY would. If you have any other option, take that route. read more

If you are considering renting one of their properties and you value your privacy, be warned they are notorious for not giving enough notice for their contractors to be on or in your property. While you lease may state reasonable notice it appears its completely to their discretion to decide what that reasonable notice is. While this is the only complaint to me it's a pretty signifigant one!!! read more

Responded the day a property went on the market to view. No response so called the next day. Received an e-mail two days later saying the property was not available and to click on their link. Showed property still available. Received call. Told Sue I responded right away and didn't get a response. No apology. Just "And I understand that'. Will be sure not to use them if this is the way they handle potential renters! read more
