We all went in thinking this will just be fun and we won't win anything, however, we each walked away with three stuffed animals and had so much fun playing in the claw machines. I had been here about 6 months ago with my young kids and we had a great time and they each walked away with a few stuffies. The employee even came around ensuring the little ones got something. We went back with a large group of us over the weekend and the machines had gotten so difficult that no one was winning anything and the toddlers were so sad. We've been to other claw machine places in the area but we were already on this side of Katy Asian Town getting boba nearby so we decided to try this one out. It was okay. The decor is cute and there are some fun photo ops throughout, but it was overpriced and the prizes weren't great especially for how much you're paying. There were a couple machines with decent prizes, but most weren't good at all. The machines also seemed a lot harder to win from compared to other places. We usually walk away with at least a few prizes elsewhere, but we didn't get a single thing here. Customer service could be better. First time going to Claw City on a whim after shopping at h mart and having dinner. Needed to walk off the 10 lbs of food i devoured. When walking in and looking around, I had no idea what to do. No one greeted me and when asking how this place worked originally, it was like pulling teeth to get any answers. I actually went up to the manager by accident not knowing who to speak to and she just seemed bothered and shoved me off to someone else who was also little help. Lucky I ended up finding the machine that is self serve to get tokens to play the machines. I think it is a fun date idea and it's a lot of fun. Went here with my two girls on a Saturday afternoon. Spent $50 on 50 tokens. Left with...3 total stuffies. Each game was 3 tokens. No one offered a bag or to shuffle the games. Kids were pretty disappointed so took them to another claw place 2 minutes away. At the other place I spent $50 on 60 tokens. Immediately offered a bag and they assisted with a game without even asking. Ended up with 8 stuffies.... Not sure if this is common but claw city just felt a lot harder to grab stuffies with more spent on each try. Stopped here on a Saturday night after dinner in Katy Asia Town, while trying to walk off all the food. This place has a decent selection of small plushies for the claw machines. When you come in you will have to use the coin machine to get your coins before you can start, but it only takes cash or filled membership cards. Alternatively, you can also purchase with credit card at the counter with an attendant where if you spend $50 or more you get a membership card that gives you discounts for future refills if you intend to come back. Once they load up the card, you scan it at the coin machine to withdraw your coins. I opted for the $50 which gives you 100 coins to play, each claw machine takes 3 coins and the keychain size toys take 2 coins. They had an event wheel when we were there where you can spin once you follow them on instagram to win more coins. Once you have your coins you can get to playing. At the front counter, the toys you win can then be handed in to trade up for bigger prizes if you want. My group weren't that great at this so we only got 2 plushies. As we all know the claws are slightly rigged where they aren't that strong and you need to find that right toy at the right spot to really grab it. We ended up trading our plushies for 2 stress ball toy as that's more useful to us. Still had a ton of fun and will go back if I need to walk off my dinner again. read more

With all of these claw arcades popping up I had to try out Claw City to see how it stacked up. Located in Katy Chinatown around the circle from Claw & Fun. The store is largest, give you more breathing room compared to other arcades. Also has the most machines but prizes are repeated. Speaking of prizes I found them to be lower quality than others, but there are a few good looking ones. As for the machines, the claw drops and pulls up so quickly that prizes often swing out of the claw. Thankfully the staff are incredibly helpful and willing to rearrange prizes to help you out. Bought 30 tokens for $20, making it $2 per play since it's 3 tokens for each machine. As for how Claw City stacked up, I found it to be the most expensive arcade in town. Rest assured, this place is a money pit and you'll have a lot of fun bleeding out of your pockets. $50 dollars goes by quick for stuffies that cost them a dime a dozen. If you're struggling mightly hard and bleeding money for one stuffy, the staff will go into the case and help you out by dislodging it so you can grab it more easily. TBH i really love that. I know a lot of these claw machine places import mass quantities of cheaply made knockoffs. I don't mind that. But they had really well-faked Sunny Angels- I feel like that is a bit dishonest. I'd rather pay more to win authentic things. When the boxes look exactly the same, it becomes hard to differentiate. This is newly opened in Katy so of course I had to try it out. The VIP program puts your coins on a card and gives you a "bonus" each refill. I *ahem* have a problem so of course I became a VIP for the min $100. Customer service is very nice. The layout and most of the toys were nice. Lots of duplicates for now since they are so new. The quarter pusher is dangerous! So why the 2 stars? Let's break it down. - each machine is noticeably rigged. I'm ok with some deception but these aren't cheap. We came upon this claw arcade that just opened in early June. Love the many cute claw boxes with lots of cute stuffies and shiny lights. They have cute little shopping carts and complimentary bags for your prizes when you win. Also, they have 3 giant machines with 3+ ft stuffies for you to cut the rope and win the prize. There are also a few "gum ball" machine style machines (2 coins to play) where you will surely get a guarantee prize (lower value but fun for the little ones). I'm not an advanced claw machine enthusiast but I saw other groups of young teens/adults who seem to be on a winning spree. The hype in the possibility of winning is what makes it fun and people share the joy when you see others win. The dollar to coin ratio is also reasonable starting at $10 for 14 coins. There is also an VIP membership to join to get 16 coins for $10 starting. Just don't go overboard and cap yourself as with anything. We go in with a small budget in mind and then walk around to check out other prizes or people watch and cheer them on. It's also a place that's IG friendly for some pics. It's like teaching kids to be gamblers when they grow up (kids slot machine).. lol My 6 year old nephew would put coins in the slot and try his luck. If he fails, he'll give another try and if he fails again, he gets mad and runs to another claw machine and tries his luck there. Came here Friday night to check them out. At first glance, we were immediately impressed by the size and space of Claw City. Much bigger compared to other claw arcades that have popped up in the Houston area. For their tokens, they offer a VIP pricing and a non VIP pricing. To become VIP, you'll need to purchase at least the $100 package for 240 tokens. From there you'll be given a card, and you can "withdraw" your tokens at their kiosk. Once you become VIP, you'll get that pricing for every visit afterwards - which is a better deal when purchasing under $100 worth of tokens. Now the amount of tokens per play is where I took away a star... although they have a variety of claw machines to pick from - they all range between 2-5 tokens per play. The 2 token machines are the smaller ones, and they aren't claw machines... rather a dispensing game that gives small prizes. There are some claw games that you can play for 3 tokens, but those prizes weren't that impressive. Majority of the claw machines are 5 tokens per play. The math comes out to be about $2 per play if you buy the $100 VIP pack. I do understand that the prizes are of better quality and so there is some justification on the reason price per play is a little higher. The good news also is that if you don't like your prize, you can bring it to the front and exchange them for 1 point per plushy. You can then save up your points for bigger prizes. Oh and they also have a set of 4 coin pusher machines. I thought this was fun and interesting but did not get to play as this was where the majority of people crowded around when I visited. Overall, would I come back again? Yes. The location is convenient and near to where I often frequent but I would reserve visits for mainly date night. It's not somewhere I would personally take a bunch of kids too just due to the cost. There are comparable claw arcades that cost less and so they are more budget friendly when taking a group of kids. Many claw machine games are popping up in Houston and I've been to all of them but this one is the worst. $20 for 30 coins and the average coins to play per machine is 5. I saw some machines that took 4 coins and the 2 coins machine.. just forget it. Chips and cheap plastic toys.. no thanks. The store is spacious, big, and has potential but the prizes are cheap looking, unappealing and repetitive. There is not a large variety of prizes or toys to chose from and this place has the most expensive machines of out all Ranking from claw arcade AND value: Claw Mania Kingdom - $20 for 22 coins and each machine just takes 1 coin. They rotate toys often so it's never the same and there's a big selection to choose from granted this is the smallest claw arcade. The prizes are also cute and easy to get. Craft Land - $10 for 20 coins + 2 extra I believe but each machine averages 2 coins. The prizes and selection arent as appealing as Craft Mania Kingdom but it's not bad. Claw & Fun - Been here twice and I think it's ok. I would NOT recommend this place. I feel cheated in so many ways. Not only is it more expensive than other places (takes 3 coins per game), but the claws are so loose, and there are barely any stuffed animals in the machine making it extra hard to win anything. I paid $100 and spent it within 15 minutes and barely got 6 stuffed animals with the help of my husband. My kids were quite upset and disappointed and that shouldn't be the case when it's suppose to be something fun. The place is large but it's deceiving because a lot of the stuffed animals were repeated in different machines. They hang all of the nicer stuffed animals towards the front that costs even more to upgrade since you will never win enough to make a "trade".
