I called another provider here in Chapel Hill, as they were so close by. I was told they would service them, as they serviced Starkey for the life of the hearing aid. Also I was told to bring my wife in, so they could better adjust the aids for her voice. They actually had no intention of helping me with my existing hearing aids, but rather, went straight into a sales pitch, and it became apparant that they wanted my wife along so they could increase the effort. I was not happy. BUT- I went back to Raleigh Hearing and Tinnitus Center as a result. The help I got there was excellent. They tested my heaing, gave me an honest reccomendation, and repaired part of the problem with my hearing aids. We ordered the remaining parts necessary to get them fully up to speed. No sales pitch. No false representation. Just solid professional assistance. I will not go anywhere else again. I can promise you that.

BUT... even though my frequency hearing test was only 5 days old and I'd given her a copy of the results, Dr. Jenkins gave me another test, anyway. (Are the doctors here required to follow set procedures no matter what?) Ever since that test, I've been worse than I was before I saw Dr. Jenkins. Once again, I've trusted a doctor and been worse after I saw her than before I did. I do NOT recommend Dr. Jenkins or the Raleigh Hearing and Tinnitus Center to help with tinnitus.

The team uses a special technology from Germany to program the hearing aid (no one else in the country has it!). The precision of the device makes me forget that I have it on. They did a custom mold of my ear canal so that the device fits perfectly. As a younger person with hearing loss, I needed an easy, discreet, flexible solution. Dr. Griffin spent so much time with me customizing the hearing aid settings to allow for different performance levels at work and social situations. If you have hearing loss, you know that different levels are needed for driving, concerts, movies, conversations, the gym, etc.,. He also gave me helpful advice (little tweaks to my normal routine) to minimize the impact my hearing loss could have otherwise caused. The care extends from Dr. Griffin to Dawn who manages the office. Dawn is caring, warm and friendly. She always makes me feel so welcome and at ease, and goes out of her way to accommodate my needs and schedule. I feel grateful to have such a caring team so close here in Raleigh. I've worn my hearing aid every day for 2.5 years now and I've never had a problem with it. I go in every few months for check ups to see if I need a few tweaks to any of the settings since my hearing loss in degenerative. I get thorough attention every time I go in and believe that is why the device is performing so well and has lasted so long. No one that I come in contact with ever seems to know I have a hearing deficiency or that I wear a device. You can't see it unless I point it out. My colleagues had no idea until I started taking it out in front of them at work as proof that I had a secret defense against their bad jokes! ;) Go see for yourself why Now Hear This is the best practice in the area!

They suggested hearing aids which cost anywhere from $4000-6500! Everyone in the office was very pleasant and professional. I decided to get a second opinion at Costco where the most expensive aids are $1700. Lucas, an audiologist, conducted a second hearing examination. He recommended that I come back in 3 years and get tested again, but at this time I was not ready for hearing aids.

I was trying to get established with a new provider & chose this place because it was closer to my home. My 1st visit was to me the dr., (P.A), Mary and when I went in for the consultation she told me that she was leaving the practice so I would be referred to Jennifer Taylor. All that was fine with me until this morning, 6/11/2026. I arrived at 7:20a for my 7:40a appointment for bloodwork. They receptionist said my appointment was to see the dr. I explained that I was supposed to get bloodwork today and see the dr. for my physical next week. Thinking that was all understood and clear, I took a seat and waited while everyone eIse who came in after I did had been called back. Then I asked the receptionist a couple of time when I would be seen. She said they were waiting for orders to come in so that I could get my bloodwork done and that I would be called next. Again, I took a seat then they called someone else and at 7:50a I went to the desk and told them that I was leaving. I understand that human error happens but I honestly feel like this all happened for a couple of good reasons, terrible healthcare providers and terrible customer care.
