I am so thankful to Now Hear This Audiology. It is the best practice around and has the most sophisticated technology in the country. My audiology care is second-to-none. The team uses a special technology from Germany to program the hearing aid (no one else in the country has it!). The precision of the device makes me forget that I have it on. They did a custom mold of my ear canal so that the device fits perfectly. As a younger person with hearing loss, I needed an easy, discreet, flexible solution. Dr. Griffin spent so much time with me customizing the hearing aid settings to allow for different performance levels at work and social situations. If you have hearing loss, you know that different levels are needed for driving, concerts, movies, conversations, the gym, etc.,. He also gave me helpful advice (little tweaks to my normal routine) to minimize the impact my hearing loss could have otherwise caused. The care extends from Dr. Griffin to Dawn who manages the office. Dawn is caring, warm and friendly. She always makes me feel so welcome and at ease, and goes out of her way to accommodate my needs and schedule. I feel grateful to have such a caring team so close here in Raleigh. I've worn my hearing aid every day for 2.5 years now and I've never had a problem with it. I go in every few months for check ups to see if I need a few tweaks to any of the settings since my hearing loss in degenerative. I get thorough attention every time I go in and believe that is why the device is performing so well and has lasted so long. No one that I come in contact with ever seems to know I have a hearing deficiency or that I wear a device. You can't see it unless I point it out. I have been wearing hearing aids for over ten years. During this time I have visited audiologists in Florida and North Carolina for hearing tests and repair of my hearing aids. I have tried different hearing aids to see if my hearing could be improved. I feel that that the technology improvements for the hearing aids have increased but more importantly the fitting of the hearing aids has also dramatically increased. This is where "Now Hear This", an audiology and hearing clinic right here in Raleigh comes into play. I first visited this clinic in June of 2012 for initial tests and evaluation. The tests were much more in depth than I had ever experienced with other audiologists. Dr. Philip Griffin was testing my hearing with new technology and explaining what the results were. I was fitted with two hearing aids and have had follow up evaluations and adjustments for my hearing. WOW!!! What a great experience I had with "Now Hear This" yesterday. Decided I was definitely getting hearing aides today, called the office at 8:30, Dawn moved things around and got me into see Dr Fisher at 2:30! It was an unbelievable experience, Dawn was extraordinarily helpful with breaking down my insurance coverage. Dr Fisher was patient, listened to what my issues and goals were, and extremely knowledgeable. She knew exactly what I needed and fit me with a demo set. Now the truly incredible part, Dawn found that it would be much cheaper for me with my insurance to be "IN Network" based on where I was with my deductible. I got digital hearing aids when they first came on the market about 5 years ago but could no longer get service for them because the clinic went out of business and I knew the technology had improved so it was time to update. And I heard that the new iPhone 6 would be engineered to connect via bluetooth with one's hearing aids so that one could hear phone conversations in both ears. I always have had difficulty hearing on my cell phone plus hearing conversations in noisy surroundings and clients when they spoke softly. Then I heard about Now Hear This and decided to check them out and see if they had the hearing aids that would connect with my cell phone I had ordered. I was so impressed with the whole staff. I had no idea that UNC offered a doctorate in audiology and that an audiological evaluation could be so thorough. Once I was evaluated by Dr. Philip Griffin and his interns, recommendations of hearing aids were shown to me so that I could choose the level of hearing assistance according to my lifestyle. I procrastinated in getting hearing aids for years. I suspect my ability to hear higher ranges, such as female voices, children and natural sounds resulted from too much shotgunning over the years. Anyway, my family, especially the grand girls, said it was time to get them. After much research, I landed in the office of Dr. Griffin and his assistant, Dawn. He was extremely professional in testing my hearing and explaining the type of aid I needed. His choice seems to be perfect for I am now able to hear better than my wife. She is the one who is turning up the volume on the tv. Dawn is AWESOME and Phillip is a perfectionist. Got my hearing aids online and worked with Now Hear This as local contractor to tune them up to meet my needs. Dawn kept me straight with the appointment dates and times, Phillip tweaked the hearing aids to meet my needs. Part of the testing I was given homework - go to a bar with my wife and have a drink, see if I could carry on conversation with her with all the music and background noise.
