I have been wearing bilateral hearing aids for most of my adult life. I was unhappy with my audiologist and switched to Coates Hearing about a year ago and couldn't be more pleased. Dr. Coates goes out of her way to be certain you have the right hearing aids for you and is beyond thorough in the programming and fit. I have since bought hearing aids for my wife and am in the middle of upgrading mine. This place is the best. read more

They seem nice at first but turn out all they want is your money. They program my hearing aids wrong then want to charge me to reprogram them. read more

We are a locally and family-owned by Dr. Kathleen Coates and her husband, Jordan. Dr. Coates is an expert in hearing evaluations and treatment, including hearing aids, cochlear implants and other hearing devices. She also evaluates and treats tinnitus, ringing or other sounds in the ears or head. She also fits custom hearing protection for musicians, hunters and anyone around loud noise.

History

Established in 2018.

Dr. Coates graduated with her doctorate degree in Ohio then worked alongside a well-known neurotologist in Raleigh for a number of years until moving to Smithfield. I was excited to have a doctor's office close by home and was looking for a primary care doctor…read more.. so I called 3 months ago and made a primary care doctor appointment with Dr. Russell. Today I got a call with only saying the doctor you Scheduled with (this Friday) after waiting 3 months is now out of the office. I got absolutely NO great reasoning why my appointment was canceled and they did not have any appointments until the END of August to reschedule.. even with another doctor at this location! I was shocked ... there was no real apology or suggesting being put on the wait list. It was simple... your appointment is canceled and you can get an appointment in August!? I am definitely NOT happy with this doctor's office and especially since I have been waiting for months and need to be seen! I would definitely NOT recommend this office to anyone especially if you are a new patient ... they didn't seem to care at all if you get in there or not!! Will absolutely be contacting someone higher up, leaving a review and warning others how this place is run. It's so sad ... I'm looking into going elsewhere now due to this!

He immediately recognized that the medication I had previously been prescribed by my regular doctor was making my condition worse and prescribed the correct treatment instead. That alone meant a lot, and it made a huge difference in my recovery. I later returned for my annual exam and updated prescription, and once again had an excellent experience. Dr. Moyer is professional, knowledgeable, and efficient, yet never makes you feel rushed. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients.
