I will tell you my story, with no personal opinions, and you can decide if this is the "company"…read moreyou'd like to use. I have two fireplaces, one upstairs and one in my basement, and I wanted one capped, as it allows smoke to back draft down the other chimney into the basement. A super easy job that requires putting a duct cap over the chimney on the roof. I come home from work to find this man's truck parked outside my house with a dog tied to the trailer hitch and a bowl of water out for the dog. The man is already on the roof, he comes down and asks me if I have any scrap sheet metal lying around. I said no, but there is a Lowes and home depot both within five minutes of my house, and he said he will run to get the cap and be back. A few minutes after that I hear equipment and grinding coming from my front yard. The man is cutting up a cookie sheet with a grinder shooting sparks, with no safety equipment. He tells me that an actual duct cap is not necessary, that this will work just fine. He goes to install it on the roof and when he comes back down he says it didn't seat completely, but it "should" work and to call him if there is any problem. He also mentioned that he felt sick, drank bad coconut milk, and felt like he was going to pass out while on the roof. When it was time for payment he did not want to accept a check he only wanted cash and said he would follow me to an ATM. At this point, I just wanted him to leave so I bartered with him to take an additional $25 and accept the check. Then, I finally have a first fire and smoke is coming down the basement fireplace, and his fix did little to nothing to help. I have tried calling the man back several times with no response. I hope that he reads this and finally replies and comes back to fix it, at which time I will change my review.

Gave a quote and left it with me, called several months later to get the main floor fireplace repaired. What excellent service and professionalism by him and his crew. My partner scheduled a fireplace and chimney inspection for a house we are under contract to buy for the morning of 08/25/26, between 8-10 am. We received a call from Archway at about 6:30 am that morning confirming that our inspector would be arriving at the house at 8 am. Around 7 am, we received a call from David, who said he was leaving a diner and going to the house now, and that he would be there in about 30 minutes. My partner explained that we were not expecting him until 8 am and that we would be there as soon as possible, but we currently live 40 minutes away. Our realtor lives closer and was going to be the one letting the inspectors inside through Supra, so we told David we would call our realtor to see if she could get to the house early. My partner and I were about 10-15 minutes away from the house when my partner received another call from David. He asked if we were from St. Louis, and when my partner said yes, David began telling us how terrible of an area this house is in. He said it was on "machine gun alley" and that it was no place to raise a family. David also said that the chimney was in terrible condition and refused to conduct the inspection because of how bad the chimney appeared on visual inspection. He claimed it needed to be completely torn down and rebuilt and that there was no way to repair it. My partner told David that we were less than 10 minutes away at this point and asked if we could talk more about this in person. David said no, they were leaving. During this call, our realtor tried to call my partner. After ending the call with David, we called our realtor back to see if she would wait for us at the house so we could talk about the inspection. When we arrived, she informed us that David had also asked if she was from St. Louis. When she said yes, he began telling her that the house was on "machine gun alley," that it was a dangerous area, and that the buyers were making a mistake by purchasing the house. While he was going on this hateful tirade, there was a group of elementary school children waiting for the bus less than 20 feet away. Our realtor was unable to unlock the house before 8 am for Archway to inspect our primary concern, which was what our general inspector identified as a moisture-related hole under the fireplace. While she was trying to see if there was a way to unlock the Supra early, Archway did a visual inspection of the exterior of the chimney. Our realtor could hear them talking about how horrible the chimney looked. When she told them they likely could not get inside early and would need to wait, David and his team went and sat in their car. They did not say anything to our realtor, so she assumed they were going to sit and wait until 8 am, and she sat in her car to wait as well. When she saw them drive off, she tried to call us. The complete lack of professionalism and integrity from Archway Clean Sweep during this inspection was insulting. My partner and I had a structural engineer complete an inspection of the chimney earlier this week, since Archway's inspection was incomplete. He had no concerns about the structural integrity of the chimney. His opinion was that tearing down the chimney was unnecessary, and his recommendation was to take preventative action to keep future water away from the chimney. David was horribly disrespectful and contemptuous. He had no place being so hostile by telling us his ill-informed, stereotypical, and offensive beliefs about the area we have chosen to live in. I can understand if a business chooses not to work in certain areas of the state for whatever reason, but there are professional and respectful ways to communicate that to prospective customers. I would not trust Archway Clean Sweep to provide an objective inspection or treat their customers with basic professionalism and respect, and I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
