This company is a scam preying on people who don't know any better about housekeeping services and costs. I've been using cleaners regularly (every 2 weeks or monthly) for over 5 years now and have had a few different ones over that time. My previous cleaner just retired so I was looking for a new one, and I reached out to get a quote from Cleaning4U. I have a ~500 sq ft apartment, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom. It's a small apartment that my previous cleaners (who worked alone) did full housekeeping and cleaning themselves in 2 - 3 hours, and would cost generally $100 or less (maybe a bit over if there was some more to do that day). So tell me why Cleaning4U came back to me with a quote of 3 Cleaners for 1.5h, $40/h each, for $180 + 5% GST + 2.99% if you're paying by card (so would be basically $200 total). AND THAT'S ONLY FOR SURFACE CLEANING. It's $30 extra for cleaning inside appliances. The list of services provided didn't even go into organizing the fridge, closets, or anything along those lines. JUST surface cleaning. I took one look and laughed out loud at the sheer audacity of how ridiculous that quote was. It really feels like they're trying to scam people who don't know any better. Literally right after responding back telling them no way jose I got a call from another company who wanted to give me a quote. The other company quoted me 2 cleaners, 1 hour, total of less than $100, and their list of services included fridge cleaning, closet organization, and a bunch of other stuff. If I could give this company 0 stars I would. I highly DO NOT recommend this cleaning service. I'm disappointed and frustrated with my recent experience. I've used this company once before for an apartment move out clean and they were good but please DO NOT book Cleaning4U for the following reasons: They were 15 minutes late and unapologetic They finished 30 minutes early and still charged us for the full 4 hours They damaged our property and did not tell us and lied when we asked them about it I had to redo the laundry closet walls (which were dripping with detergent stains), dining room windows (which had streaks), wine rack (which had sticky spots and gunk on it), the dining room chandelier was caked in a thick layer of dust, the bathroom countertop they missed an entire strip beside the sink covered in dust, I had to spot clean the blinds and clean the bathroom mirror. They also damaged a section of our wall by our stairs. I spoke with a manager and at first we had a professional and civil conversation but has since ended very poorly. This company lacks basic customer service skills. They were not empathetic, understanding and even unapologetic from the beginning. It became a he said she said discussion which was frustrating. They made excuses and didn't once apologize but instead made excuses for their employees. I will NEVER ever use this company again and I hope no one will either after reading this. For what it's worth, a 2-star review among a sea of glowing 4 and 5 star reviews should be taken with a grain of salt. I'm aware of the initial skepticism. But I'm just disappointed our experience with Cleaning4U was not as stellar as everyone else's. I placed a call and got a quote from Sean - we talked about the number of areas in my house, the potential additional charge for moving some of the smaller furniture around etc etc. So far, so good. For a house with 6 rooms (5 small, 1 rec room) + 1 hallway + carpeted stairs, Sean quoted $275-300 + tax. Sounded cheap and Yelp reviews seemed alright, so we bit the bullet. Then he asks me to send him a text confirming the date and address. Did that, and got a simple "Confirmed. Thank you" (the texts are attached to this review). Note that I did not give a time yet, nor did they mention what time they would be coming, or give me a timeframe...which was kinda odd but whatever maybe they were just really busy when I called. So when he replied with a "Confirmed. Thank you" that night, I fired off another text asking what time the cleaners would be coming. No response the following day. I was already agreeing to have them come over and clean the carpets, so it seems like a perfectly reasonable request to have them confirm what time they'll be coming. Think about it this way, when you make an appointment at your family doctor, they don't just say "see you tomorrow morning!" They give you a time when you should come in. It's the same for any service-oriented business - other cleaners, manicurists, beauticians, stylists. To be fair, Sean was apologetic and confirmed a time eventually. He was also very accommodating when we had to move the cleaning date a few times because renovations were not done at our house (contractors dragging their heels are another story). The actual service was a resounding meh. Granted, our carpets have not been cleaned since we bought the house 10+ years ago. Javier and his partner were quick and courteous (except for the occasional quip at my 64 year old Asian mother insinuating she didn't understand English, when she was just a bit hard of hearing but otherwise is perfectly fluent). We didn't see a huge difference in the end, although they just chalked it up to the nature of the carpet. In the end though, because of the "extra difficulty" in cleaning the carpet, we paid $330.75 ($315 + 5% GST). This minor wrinkle being a possibility was never mentioned by Sean, and I also have a text attached where he confirms the price range. Note that we already put most of our smaller items (lamps, stools) on the bed and didn't have them move our side tables, so technically we did not have to incur the minor fee associated with moving stuff off the floor...because I already did it for them before they came! We didn't ask them to do above and beyond what they normally do. We just asked them to work around what was already there, and were ok if there were areas they couldn't reach like under the bed, or under side tables. From $275-315? That's a $40 difference either way, and call me stingy or miserly, but a quoted amount is a quoted amount. $315 never entered the conversation until Javier mentioned the amount on the day itself. Two stars because the initial phone conversation was pleasant, and he was actually very accommodating. I just wished the initial scheduling process wasn't so painful. Is scheduling an appointment supposed to be this hard and murky? Actual cleaning was not ground-breaking or anything, and the ambiguity around pricing is giving me seconds thoughts about recommending Cleaning4U to others. Maybe if you had newer carpet, Cleaning4U is alright. While we weren't super dissatisfied (i.e. not the kind of dissatisfaction reserved for shady proprietors warranting reports to the BBB), we do regret having them clean the carpet. This isn't one of those angry "CALL YOUR MANAGER" 2-Star reviews. Me and my mom are just really disappointed with the way things turned out, and do feel a bit cheated. Next time any one of us need someone clean carpet, we won't be calling Cleaning4U because the experience fell way short of our pretty low expectations. read more

When we went to do the walk through with the landlady it was evident the hadn't washed the floor. it actually looked like it hadn't been swept very well either. Their customer service is terrible, the owner was very rude, the cleaners were not professional and didn't clean properly, price wasn't reasonable. Finally, the owner started threatening us, calling us, messaging us, and emailing us to pay the outstanding 50% balance. We obviously paid the 100% of the balance but unfortunately we only received 50% of the service that we paid for. It was very uncomfortable to deal with this. Don't waste your time or money with this "professional" cleaning services company or you will end up cleaning the apartment yourself. There are too many other options in the lower mainland. I wonder what the cleaners did for the two hours they were in our empty condo. Our previous tenant did not leave the place as clean as it should be. The carpets had been professionally cleaned and the place was empty and somewhat clean. Only needed the baseboards wiped, cabinetry and floors cleaned, and a few cupboards wiped out. I could've done this myself in an hour. Instead two cleaning4u cleaners came in for two hours, did not clean the baseboards or the outside of the kitchen cabinetry. I have no idea what they did for two hours. My new tenant negotiated a lower price due to being dissatisfied. I came in and cleaned the baseboards, lifted scuff marks off the flooring, cleaned the cabinet doors, and basically did what the cleaners did not. We hired Cleaning4U for a move out clean. They did the job well. My landlord was happy with the clean. Our carpets were very dirty from wear & tear and after they cleaned it, they looked really nice. They didn't clean under the fridge, I assume I should of specified that I wanted that but the place looked satisfactory to me and my landlord when we moved out! I would hire Cleaning4U again. Javier and his team were great. We had originally booked 2 cleaners for 2 hours each, but last minute it was changed to 3 cleaners. So, it took them less time to clean with more man hours, and they came half an hour early - sounded great to me! We originally asked for only specific rooms/our element to be cleaned, but the team was so efficient they ended up cleaning above and beyond the ask, until the end of the allotted time. They also got out some stubborn stains that we had been unable to remove on our own. Pricing was also very reasonable. I think they were good with arranging things with their customers and were fast. I paid for 2 cleaners for 2 hours plus a carpet cleaning. They brought 3 people of their own volition and cleaned for an hour and a half instead. This hour and a half included the carpet cleaning. The biggest stains were gone from the carpet and it was a general clean for my 600 sq foot condo. I wished they had cleaned for longer and more throughly for the $241.50 that I had paid- I did feel alittle cheated. If it was just 3 people for an hour and a half, that would have been fine but to also include my carpet cleaning in that time? However, cleaning4u was much easier to deal with logistically and speed wise than their competition. read more

I would never use Cleaning4U cleaning services as the quality of their work was very dissatisfying. An the end of March, we were moving to a new place and during the Coronavirus pandemic, it was challenging to find a good reliable cleaning company that was still operating. After reading the reviews, I decided to hire cleaning4U to disinfect my new apartment before I move in. I would like to note that the place was empty and the previous owner had already cleaned the apartment but I just wanted to deep clean and disinfectant the place. The company sent 2 cleaners for 3 hours and there was a guy and lady. I asked them to just use the cleaning products that I provided them to disinfect the empty apartment. The guy started with the guest bathroom and when I asked to use brush to clean the tiles he refused and he said he will just use microfibre cloth to clean as the tiles looked clean to him!!! After 3 hours, the two cleaners just cleaned inside the cabinets, closets, and bathroom and again our place was empty and no furniture! They were so slow and their cleaning was not thorough at all! Once they left, my husband and I checked inside the cabinets that the guy has "cleaned" and we saw so much dust on all the corners and the all the bottom drawers were still dusty and bot cleaned! So the bottom line is the quality of cleaning service was really bad, slow and sluppy. I paid $240 for the service and my husband and I had to redo everything that they did! read more

I hired Cleaning3U for a move out. I had sold my house and while the purchaser did not stipulate that the house be cleaned, I wanted to leave it in good condition. My house was over 5000 square feet with 8 bathrooms and 7 bedrooms. I booked a team of 3 people for 4 hours. They arrived on time and they were very professional. The upstairs was not too dirty but the basement was another story. My 87 year old father lived in the basement and he was not much of a cleaner. For example, it had been a very long time since his fridge had been cleaned. After the cleaners were finished with it, it looked brand new. I had tried to clean it occasionally myself but I never got it that clean. Bathrooms looked spotless. Since this was a move out, I also had a lot of stuff that I was throwing out. I was pleased that the cleaners helped me move a lot of it to the garage from which I loaded it only a truck for disposal. I was present during the clean since I was still moving things out and I think the cleaners worked hard and I am pleased with the results. They had another job to get to after mine so they cleaned all that they could in the time they had and what they cleaned, they cleaned well. I have never used a cleaning service on a regular basis but this experience convinced me that a regular clean would be a good idea. However, the actual cleaning itself was mediocre, at best, for the price paid. Their hourly cleaning costs are 25% above average, but the service is not worth it at all. There are several other cleaners that may be rough around the edges to deal with, but their cleaning service is comparatively much better for a lower price point. read more

The 3 guys, Sean, Javier and Franco who cleaned the house are great! They did a thorough job on a 3 level home in just over 2 hours! And we have a dog that sheds so there was lots of hair and what we call "nose art" on glass. The oven had not been cleaned for awhile and it was sparkling when they were done. I would highly recommend Cleaning4U without any hesitation. I goggled a few places for I really wanted to read the reviews to find out more about some of the Cleaning Companies out there. Well, I came across the reviews about Cleaning4U and I knew that I found the right place. I sent an email, and first of all, I was so impressed on how fast they got back to me. I spoke to a gentleman by the name of Sean and explained to him what I was looking for as I wanted somebody to clean my Brother's apartment for him. Sean has a very calming voice and that alone told me that I had found the right Company. We had a laugh or 2, as I told him that my Brother is a true Bachelor and said that I had no idea on when the last time his place was really cleaned! He told me about their services, what they do, so I booked an appointment with Cleaning4U. They went out on Thursday, June 28, 2018, and Sean sent out 3 Ladies for he kind of knew that it was going to be a bigger job than usual. Well, my Brother called me after they had come and gone and he was so excited. He said that they did absolutely everything and they even dusted off all of his ornaments too! He said that they even tidied up some of his papers etc., and even put his dishes away! He went on and on about all that they did and feels that they went above and beyond, so you can tell that he was very pleased and "thanked" me so much for doing this for him. I will definitely be using Cleaning4U again, and hey, might even get them to clean my place! So don't google any further than Cleaning4U, read the reviews and call Sean, you will not be disappointed.
