In the verbal bid she gave me was to fix the scratches on some doors on the interior of the house and reseal them with varathane. When she showed up to do the job she asked to be paid in cash, no checks. In between other jobs she came and did the wood on the outside over the course of a couple of weeks. She came for the last bit and said she wanted to be paid for the job. I asked her if she got all of the wood, she said yes. I then showed her the vigas that she had missed. She came back and did them and then wanted to be paid in full for the job. I asked her what a bout the interior doors. She replied that I told her I didn't want her to do those. What I had said was that I wanted to have the exterior done first and then the inside. She would not make an adjustment for not doing the interior. Get it in writing if you want to deal with her. She also dripped stain all over the walls while doing the vigas. Spilled a can of stain in the gravel as well. She said she would rake it out and did not. She is not a person of her word.

It took them over a year to fix. Further, numerous tiles were put into the master shower that were chipped or broken. These were smaller decorative tiles. James explained it away as something no one installing could be expected to notice. About every fifth one was broken. Anyone should have seen it. The luxury linoleum floor started coming up. I turned that in for warranty work, but after three months, they still hadn't even looked at it. It was eventually replaced at the very end of the warranty (so that if it came up again, they wouldn't have to deal with it). Well, it's coming up in multiple places and will have to be replaced at great expense. They sold it to us as a great product. It lasted less than a year. We called in that the roof was leaking multiple times. They "fixed it" multiple times, but it still leaks. This morning, a section of drywall tape fell off the bathroom ceiling and water came out of the crack between the two boards all over our bathroom. We called in electrical warranty work multiple times, but the lights in two rooms only work occasionally now. The two smaller bathrooms were leaking from the showers and created water damage. I called that in for warranty work. The sealed the showers and replaced some grout and tiles, but never fixed the water damage on the outside of the showers. James brags about the quality of their work (and you pay for it as their homes are more expensive per square foot), but when you have warranty issues, they slow roll and don't do a good job. Jackie is consistently very rude. Needless to say, my wife is so mad and unhappy that she wants to move. If this is the experience you want, I'd use Scenic. If not, I'd look elsewhere.
