Not sure they'd let you use theirs anyway. There is no parking lot. The YMCA lot doesn't allow for park parking. You have to park on the street. There is usually close parking available. There is no shade. It gets really hot during the summer. All in all, I like the park for its age range. I wish there was a bathroom. We've had to leave early a bunch of times because we need a bathroom.

The whole cave drips water nonstop, which creates such a magical, serene frozen atmosphere that feels totally otherworldly. The hike leading to the cave is equally lovely. The trail winds through thick forest with full tree cover providing plenty of cool shade the entire way. Lush green trees surround the path, making the walk gentle and scenic even in warm June weather. The forest views alone made the journey enjoyable before we even reached the ice cave. Inside, massive ice walls and natural ice sculptures stretch everywhere. The constant dripping water echoes softly through the cavern, adding to the surreal vibe. Just a small tip: bring a light waterproof jacket to avoid getting splashed by all the dripping ice water. This trip balanced beautiful woodland hiking and an incredible frozen cave experience perfectly. It's easily one of the best outdoor spots I've checked out, and I'd highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Even a little hiking trails around off to the side if you just want a mini getaway. It was a good time even though I was by myself. Some benches by the hiking trails if you want a rest stop. We saw a bald eagle hunt something in the water and bring it to the beach, so it seems good for wildlife watching. The lighthouse is kind of underwhelming because of the size. There's multiple grassy fields and some picnic tables. Some people were flying kites when we were there because of the wind. There's also a dog bag station, which is nice to see at a state park. Regarding the fort, I didn't realize until later that there's an easy path up to the top without needing stairs and/or a steep route. Otherwise, I thought it was tricky going up if I could only use the thin metal ladders. Once at the top, there were multiple points that seemed iffy and unprotected from dropping down.

Hike is pretty steep, constantly uphill for about 3 miles, all in the trees though. Mosquitoes around, bug spray is good. After 3 miles, trail goes down pretty steeply, lake was really pretty, not very cold water! Sat there for a bit to enjoy the water and view, really calming. Didn't see very many people on the trail, had the lake to ourselves. Bad part of the hike is the need to go back uphill after the lake, but it's not too bad. Took 2 hours to get to the lake, 2 hours back, was a bit dark and got a bit cold towards the end of the hike. Hiking poles definitely helped!

We went around 8:00am got at lake around 11:30am, only few small breaks and took 3 hours to come back. When we reached the lake it was mesmerizing. Thinks to remember: 1.Take a lot of water and snacks with you. It is hard hike so stay hydrated. 2. Bug spray if needed we had it but did not use it because bugs were not too bad. 3. Go early to beat the heat and this hike requires $5 day use fee and Northwest forest pass. 4. Since it's not 7.5 miles be ready to do extra 4 miles. Total of 11.5miles This hike was hardest hike for us so far but the view worth the hike. I would highly recommend to go there at lest once in life time. The view is breathtaking!!! Good luck, you will love it.!!
