Everyone is very professional and they do a great job. As an established client, they send you a pre-planned tax appointment every year based on your preferred time, which you can just keep or call to change/cancel. This is very convenient, one less thing to do. They also send you a handy tax organizer packet ahead of time (pre-filled with your previous year's information) to help you get everything organized and ready. This makes your appointment go very quickly and smoothly, with no surprises. If you do forget to bring a form, they let you just drop it off when you can. If you can't make it into their office in person, they also give you the option of just dropping everything off or mailing everything to them and they take care of the rest. You do not pay until they have completed your taxes and you go to pick them up. If you owe any taxes, they'll have the forms/envelopes all ready and pre-filled for you, you just have to sign and mail. They give you everything nicely organized in a file and the best part is that if you ever get audited by the IRS, they will have your back. Jason also answered questions for us about college savings plans and the cost of college tuition for our son. If you refer a new client to them, they will also give you a token of appreciation (we got a gift card to See's Candy before) and they enter you into a drawing for a trip to Hawaii! Highly recommend for tax preparation!

In 2019, I had a wonderful career, made very good money and purchased a house. So, I needed help to file my taxes. I googled CPAs and I've found Mr Cameron Irtifa. I really wanted the good reviews to be true and give me a relief I have a good trustworthy CPA for the rest of my life. However, my experience was really bad. First of all, he was late for our appointment. He apologized and I was cool with it. Then he made a lot of bad comments about my country of Origin. I asked him to stop talking about it. He apologized and stopped. But he kept talking about all other random stuff that didn't have anything to do with taxes like what is my laptop model, if my green card lawyer was good, stories from his family in his country Pakistan and so on. When paying for the session he considered start to finish, so technically I paid for the time he took to tell his personal stories!

I knew I didn't understand landlord accounting laws very well although I have an old accounting clerk certificate. Cameron Irtifa completed our tax forms for the past couple of years. I filled out our tax forms on TurboTax first to compare to his results. He has saved us thousands of dollars each year. We can't afford to have me fill out our tax forms any more. His fees are very reasonable. We paid four times as much for a CPA in Eugene to fill out our tax forms years ago. But this Eugene CPA had an office next to a golf course. Mr. Irtifa's office in Beaverton is very unassuming. I do chit-chat with Mr. Irtifa as we go through my tax information. He has referred me to several local professionals, like lawyers, that solved other problems I was working on. By chatting with other clients I know he hears who is good and who is not. I appreciate being able to pick his brain for advice as we go through my tax information. He has taken the time mid-year to give us investment advice when we asked. I have also given him advice on topics I feel passionate about, which he accepted graciously. If you want a very formal CPA, you should go to someone else. Mr. Irtifa worked for the IRS for a number of years so I trust him when he advises me on how to answer an ambiguous tax question. Mr. Irtifa can get behind on his appointments during the day. I just remind myself that when it is my turn he will take as long as I need to get my tax forms filled out correctly and my questions answered. I am glad we found him.

I did not enjoy my experience with TPG. I was introduced to them via a family member which has TPG…read moremanage investments. I had been looking for a financial advisor and decided to meet them. I spent several hours getting together documents and talking on the phone. In the end, I felt as though it was a bait and switch. There was no intent to manage my investments. They were pitching very high dollar whole life policies as well as long term disability for me, a 35 year old male. I already had solid term coverage. They also spoke negatively about my USAA policies and tried to persuade me to spend thousands more a year on their brokered policies. When I finally said no, they wanted nothing to do with me. Which, thankfully is a good thing. In my opinion, they do not act as a fiduciary across all accounts. I was told they did, but these policies are clearly not in my interest. If you really want whole life insurance, or one of its many variants, this is your place. If you want a financial advisor, go with Vanguard or similar.
