TLDR: he took my money, broke my sensor cover and used globs of glue on my windshield to "fix" it and did not tell me- another windshield professional caught it! He charged me extra fees, yelled at me and called me slurs over the phone, and didn't refund me. Do not go here. Do not bring your daughters or wives here either. Zach, don't worry- I got my deposit you stole back from my bank. I'm glad I went to another company to give them my $300. I should have trusted the bad reviews. The owner took my money despite his customer service rep saying I could get a refund. I called on a Thursday. He asked for my license plate instead of the VIN to "check my sensors." The license plate doesn't give any info....even I know that. He claimed I had no sensors and ordered a windshield for $265. On Saturday, after I drove 30 minutes one way, he said I did have sensors, and the cost would be $295. He demanded a $48 deposit to order the new windshield and that I would have to come back in a week to get it installed. He didn't mention a 3.75% card fee over the phone but forced it on me in person, suggesting Zelle only after I'd paid. Shady business practices. When I got in my car, it smelled like trashy cologne, and the steering wheel was greasy. I asked him what he sprayed in the car and he said nothing. He left the sensor box under the mirror hanging and tried to delay fixing it until my next visit to pressure me into coming back. I insisted he fix it immediately. Come to find out, he glued the sensor box back to my old windshield, and now I will have to buy a new one. I found this out by another business who ended up replacing my glass. Zach did not tell me he broke MY property. When I asked for my deposit back, his rep said I could call him. I called on Monday. He threw a tantrum, yelled at me, interrupted me, called me slurs, and mocked me for asking about the cologne smell. I have migraines and cannot do intense smells. He hung up, saying he didn't need customers "like me." He also badmouthed his very young female employee for telling me I could get a refund. She honestly seemed scared and uncomfortable when he was around. I do not suggest taking small children or women here. read more

I submitted an online request and Zach called me pretty quick. He was able to get me in same day. He quoted me a price and that was the price I was charged. In the store in their business cards it says they will come to you. That was never offered to me, that would've been awesome. My 1999 Toyota Tacoma recently got broken into in Houston, and I was in desperate need of a new window replacement, especially with all the current rain we've been getting. Clear Lake Auto Glass made it easy to just give them a call, they gave me the best quote I could find from anyone, they were able to get the glass needed by 3pm, and I was able to come in the same day and have everything as good as new in an hour. They have a small little waiting room with enough chairs, cable TV going, and a vending machine. I was really happy with how everything turned out because it was completely hassle free, and they helped me worry about one less thing after I had a recent break in. Had a shattered-out rear passenger window of a 2008 Ford F-150 and Zack had me in within 30 minutes of calling and the broken window was replaced in less than 45 minutes for less than $180 (tax included). Update 12/16/20 as follows: Texted their specified number yesterday informing them of what had happened after they had botched the front windshield chip repair and was contacted today by Zack the owner to reach out to him via phone to discuss the incident. Contacted him per provided number and we introduced ourselves to each other. Zack started off asking about what had happened and I explained to him in detail about what had occurred, per my original review. He immediately started off with how he can't make any guarantees when it comes to fixing windshields and that he is not in the business to take people's money. He also mentioned that he did not appreciate me writing a negative review against his shop and that it would have been nice if I had contacted him before writing the review to try and settle things. He went on to ask if I had read the other positive reviews for his shop. I inform him that those other positive reviews were because they had their car issues resolved whereas the $45 dollar repair has now turned into a $500 replacement. During the call, Zack decided to take it upon himself to look up after market windshields and said he found that there were not any for sale and that they would be available next year at the earliest. I informed him that I have an appointment with Safelite to have the entire windshield replaced and his rebuttal was that even though they say they have a windshield available doesn't mean they actually have it. At this point in the phone conversation there was never an apology made nor any sort of acceptance of responsibility from himself or on behalf of his staff. This is when Zack made an offer to knock off $100 from my insurance deductible if I took my vehicle back to his shop to have it replaced, "to make you happy". I declined his offer as it only seemed like a ploy to get me to get back and spend more money at his shop for something his shop created. Immediately, Zack stated that he was speaking with his brother and that they did me a favor doing two chip repairs and not charging for the second repair. As far as I know, cracking my windshield and attempting to rectify your mistake by drilling another hole into my windshield did not count as doing me a favor. When I explained to him that his brother, whom he says was the one that did the initial botched repair, declined to charge me because he had botched the repair job and sent me on my way, he laughed and made a remark that they really helped me with that then. I explained to him that causing irreparable damage to my vehicle was not exactly helpful to me and that I expected a level of professionalism and workmanship when I brought my vehicle in. The last portion of our phone conversation is of him asking me what can be done to make me happy and that regardless of that there wasn't a way to make me happy. We ended the phone conversation there. Throughout the entire 20 minute 49 second phone conversation, not once did he apologize nor take responsibility. The only thing I had taken away from that conversation was deflection and an apparent cash grab to get me back in. Thankfully, I left my dash cam recording and have footage of the repair process being done. The employee heading the repair process, who Zack claims is his brother, can be seen using a lighter, essentially a multi purpose light you can buy at a grocery store, inside of my car to heat up the material used to seal the rock chip. An open flame source was being used on broken glass in the middle of December in 50 degree weather. I will be expecting the owner to contact me again to make things right. read more

I work in Pasadena and the tornado hit my van. It needs a lot of work. Its older so insurance doesn't cover it. Zac helped me out quickly. He was able to replace my from and back window foe the same price as safelite was gonna do for just my back window. PLUS he vacuumed the entire interior- which i had yet to clean. Debris from the glass, insulation from houses, roof tiles,rocks, you name it and it was in my van. He also pulled my backs seats up-they were sitting in the floor. This is the best experience I've had with an auto repair shop in my 20+ years of owning a car. I had the rear window of my 2017 Ford Fusion Sport broken out by a thief, and the experience I had at Clear Lake Auto Glass made it much less of a hassle than it could have been, and for that, I am very thankful. I have been a customer for this place twice for two cars. Earlier in the year, my wife's minivan got a huge crack on the windshield. The dealership wanted to charge us $1300 to replace the glass. At this place, we paid $300. I got a huge crack on my windshield driving near construction sites, which are all over Houston. I was quoted $1500 at my dealership where I get all my services done. I decided to come back to this place. The first questions he asked was whether I had rain sensors, and made sure that he didn't miss out on any fancy features that cars have these days. In the end, he changed me $295 plus tax for replacing my windshield. I can't tell the difference between my previous original windshield and this one, even if it's non factory... especially given the fact that I will probably get more cracks in it. Had a trunk lid replaced after a rearend accident. Tail light gaskets weren't installed, but I paid for the work anyway. Owner said he'd take care of the gaskets later. Service department at a dealership just told me that the trunk is misaligned and still leaking around the seams, and I never heard back from the owner about installing the gaskets, despite calling several times. The windshield on my 2006 Tahoe was pitted and cracked, so I decided to replace it. After a couple hours of research, I called Clear Lake Auto Glass. They said to bring it in. They had the windshield in stock and installed it in 45 minutes. Zack called me into the shop and showed me that the windshield had been previously replaced. News to me - I bought the car as a "new" loaner from the dealer with 3,600 miles. They never mentioned that or any other damage that may have been repaired.
