Terrible experience attempting to have wisdom tooth removal surgery here. I have anxiety about medical procedures and was very very clear about that in my initial intake, over the phone( I had to call them to get pre op instructions), plus when I walked in. The front office staff brushed it off when I arrived. No one listened to me when I started having a panic attack. I asked for my husband prior to getting started then he could go, and they told me no because it's a sterile environment ...I was in my street clothes, my hair was down all over the place, nothing was sterile about it so not sure about that. People walked in and out with out gowns on or gloves........ I asked to take one of my personal anxiety meds or for them to give me something and was denied. people kept coming in and putting needless and instruments around me. they put me in a chair and flipped me upside down. my vital signs were in alarm zones the entire time. I kept asking what was happening and was everything ok. They just kept their backs to me and said nothing. I had to run out of the surgery room before I felt like I was going to have a full fledged panic attack pass out. There are many different ways this could have been handled. but now I'm traumatized and it boils down to the doctor didn't care to take a little extra care effort or stray from his normal routine .God forbid something wasn't normal in the procedure..... episode would he have done anything different then?! read more

She refused to book the appointment and allow me to call back with my insurance info. Saw the great reviews and decided to call as I need an extraction and saw they were listed as accepting my insurance. Well not sure what happened but the receptionist was very rude, curtly saying "we don't take it" and when I tried to ask her if I can pay since I have a PPO plan (which would reimburse me), she hung up on me! Manager was rude and would not allow questions until she was finished with her speech. The manager was the one that was non-medical and explaining the postop instructions. I was intimidated to ask any questions because it might've been the wrong timing. I felt like the office was very rushed and would not give you the time that someone would expect. Not impressed. I went last week to get my wisdom teeth removed, and Dr. Zakhireh and his staff were all very nice. Staff speaks Spanish as well. Consultation and procedure were done the same day within 2 hrs. The staff called me a day later to see how I was doing which I thought was pretty nice. I am almost fully recovered, and everything went good. Price wise I believe is very affordable. I had in mind that I was gonna pay thousands but ended up paying $2,400 for 2 wisdom teeth. My sister went about a month ago, and she paid $3500 for all 4. If you think it's still pricey, Dr Zakhireh is a specialist with a lot of experience, and I think I read that he is one of the best top ten maxillofacial. Something that amazed me was that he knew my jaw cracked every time I open or close my mouth, and with my sister he also knew that she bites her cheeks on the inside all bc we hadn't taken out our wisdom teeth; like I said lots of experience. The best oral surgeon I have seen. Over the past 50 years I have seen several. He has a young technical staff that is highly competent and efficient. A well run front office with clear written prep and follow-up documents. The only problem area is in accounting. Supposedly this guy is a good surgeon but I didn't care for his bed side manner. Staff DID NOT have their stuff together. Was told it wouldn't cost anything then was charged $68. When I asked I Was told I should've had the dentist email the xrays but why wasn't I told that before the fact when I was told it would be no charge? The doctor talked to us for a whole 2 minutes &said she needed bone graft but didn't offer an explication of what it was or why she needed it. We waited another 20 minutes just to be told the cost. When she came in to tell me the cost she only had TWO of the wisdom teeth down to be pulled! I had to correct her! She left saying it would be $30 or something to do with the 2 teeth and came back with a quote of $1000 plus! Not happy at all with these people. I'll take my business else where. read more

My daughter went in for Wisdom Teeth removal and the office Staff and Dr. Zakhireh did such great work. We consulted with him, and in same day we did the procedure. Everything took less than 1.5 hours and was great! I was asking many questions about my treatment and Dr. Zakhireh actually took the time to listen to my concerns and answer my questions, instead of rushing me off like other clinics. I was a patient of Dr. Mark Holcomb (who is now deceased), and needed a tooth extraction/implantation procedure. My dentist, referred me to Dr. Z, who had taken over the practice for Dr.Holcomb. I was initially hesitant because it is so hard to find a great oral surgeon, but decided to go with the recommendation of my dentist and have a consultation. I was quickly put at ease when I saw many of the same staff from Dr. Holcomb's working at the office. It was so nice to see familiar faces and that helped me feel comfortable. When I met Dr. Z, he patiently answered all of my questions, gave me a plan that will include the implantation procedure in 6 months, and helped me feel comfortable about the surgery. Dr. Z is very mild mannered and gentle spoken surgeon, who exudes confidence in his craft. I love that I didn't have to wait after the consultation to get the surgery. Rather, it was the same day, which helped me because of the pain I was in. The nurses are incredibly sweet, very helpful, and helped make me comfortable in the surgery room. I actually don't remember a whole lot of the procedure because I was put to sleep-which I am so thankful for! With minimal bleeding and pain, I was fine after a couple of days. I highly recommend Dr. Z to anyone who is looking for an oral surgeon. I live in Pearland, and drove to Clear Lake because I didn't want to see the first available surgeon, I wanted to see the best one. After all, this is my mouth, and teeth are the first thing people see (their smile, anyway). I have permanent numbness in the left side of my lower jaw after wisdom tooth removal by Dr. Z. You don't realIze how bad this feeling actually is until you are the one experiencing it. I'm very disappointed since Dr. Z was so highly recommended. Just beware that this is a possibility. The entire process here was so fast that I didn't really have time to think it over very much. The staff and the doctors here rush through the entire process. Don't let his staff rush you. Take your time and really think about what you are getting done and how necessary it is. Don't have all your wisdom teeth removed just because. Only pull the ones that need to be pulled. It's a shame when you are left with permanent numbness over a tooth that could have easily, and comfortably, stayed put. Also, I don't know about other people and their pain level and swelling, but I was in excruciating pain and I swelled up pretty bad. The doctors here gave me pain pills for a few days after the surgery and told me to take Ibuprofen the rest of the time. I had to take 4 every 4 hours for a week. I don't feel like my pain was taken seriously here. Keep that in mind also. Most people might leave here in little pain (according to reviews), but what if you are the one that ends up in severe pain? Do you want a doctor that doesn't take your pain seriously? I can't imagine being able to eat solid foods right after like some people claim. It makes me question the validity of some reviews. read more

I had a great dentist back home, and was very hesitant about finding a new one, so I did some research,and Dr.Z had lots of great reviews...for a reason. He has GREAT staff that make you feel at home and are always on point. Your never rushed, and Dr.Z is very knowledgeable and caring(along with everybody else). There like a family and make you feel apart of it. You'd be crazy going elsewhere. the ONLY thing I'm upset about is I can't go back for a teeth cleaning. He said my procedure today(12-17-15) would be bit more painful because my tooth was impacted pretty good, but he has hands of an angel cause I'm already eating mashed potatoes! I had a procedure done at this clinic on September 30,2016. It was pulling a broken tooth, and reconstruction for it. I had a smooth surgery, and an easy recovery. I didn't have any swollen or significant pain in the area. I had an unpleasant experience with the stuff on the day on my surgery, but Dr Zakhireh and Krista were on the top of this incident. Krista called me and apologized for any inconvenient that I had on that day, and when I went for my check up appointment Dr Zakhireh took a time to set with me and talk about what happened in my previous visit. Filled out tons of paperwork (which they said I could have done ahead of time online.) Waited for almost an hour past my appointment time. Paid $45 for a panoramic X-ray, which I was told about ahead of time. Was shown a 15 minute video about wisdom teeth. The surgeon came in and poked around in my mouth for a minute. Then I had to wait almost 30 more minutes before someone came in and explained the cost. The cost was outrageous and he tried to up-sell me with some treatment not covered by insurance. I will not be continuing treatment here. It was stated best by some guy in the waiting room - "they just want to get you in here to get your $45 for the X-ray and they don't care if you come back or not." read more
