My prev. dermatologist was a MD and she was horrible in missing a pre-cancer lession that mimicks melanoma. The Clrear Skin PA saw it immediately. I scheduled a follow up appointment for 3/20/25 during my last visit six months ago, and then in March 2025, not realizing I already had an appointment on the books, I made an appointment online for 3/28/25. When 3/20 rolled around and I got appointment reminders day of, I assumed I must have accidentally written the wrong date down, missed the appointment, and took 3/28 appt off my calendar. So I accidentally no-call, no-showed on 3/20 - not cool. I've been slammed at work and figured I'd reschedule a new appointment when I was less busy. And they didn't call me or tell me I owed a cancellation fee, they just sent a text message that night saying "sorry you missed your appointment." Then on the morning of 3/28 I got an appointment reminder, so I called them to cancel and explain that I got confused, trying not to no-call, no-show again. The woman who answered the phone had such a condescending scolding tone, asking me to scroll through my text messages on the phone with her to confirm if I got a message from the office (I had, but it was just "you have a message, login to read"). Her tone was extremely clear: you're not welcome back here. My experience with the providers was fine but it seems like an inordinately harsh response to an honest (if annoying) mistake. If they were kind, I would have gladly paid the cancellation fee and rescheduled. It seems like they could fix the problem very easily by sending appointment reminders out a couple days or a week ahead of time. read more

Found this office on BCBS IL website as being within my network. Office asked me to send medical card to verify they take my insurance and they said they do. Set up an appointment and then they called to say when they added my birthdate there was an error code. They thought maybe my card was out of date but it is not - I just used it with an eye doctor with no issue. They said they'd check but never called me back, and when I call the next afternoon there was no answer at the office and no voicemail (phone just rang and rang). Other office had voicemail message only - no employees. Offices are both listed as open on the day I called. No thanks!! read more

I went to clear skin dermatology for the first time myself (my sisters have been going there for years) and have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Katsnelson and her medical assistant! She was very informative and detailed about the treatment she had recommended to me- she even had handouts prepared with detailed directions for acne treatment! I am definitely pleased with her knowledge regarding skin and hair care as the amount of time she spent with me! read more

I would highly recommend Clear Skin Dermatology, I have been coming here to see Dr. Shultz and Dr.Jazayerli for years. The staff is very friendly and seem to be happy all the time. What I love about Clear Skin Dermatology is that I am never stuck in a waiting room long, Appointments are always on time no waiting period like other clinics. This review is more about annoyance than, perhaps, performance. Let me say, I have a long history here and have been going to the practice for over 15 years, since Dr. Bryan Schultz was the owner. Dr. Schultz was a premier practitioner, a true leader in his field of medicine. He sold the practice to a new group and I've continued on with them with mixed results. Most of my treatments have been for non-cancerous, sun-related skin conditions and the practice has done well. Recently, however, I had a weird growth treated on my chest and was told to come back in two weeks if it didn't clear up. When I called, the next appointment was about a month. I asked for them to take a biopsy (my dad's dermatologist missed a lesion and he had to have his lymph nodes and part of neck removed and follow-on radiation which left his skin sensitive and he lost hearing in his left ear) as I was nervous of misses. It turned out to be squamous-cell. I made an appointment (the earliest was a month out) to excise a squamous cell lesion. I worked from home that day to make the appointment, and frankly, lost track of time listening to my wife discussing the hospice situation of a dear relative. I got a call from the nurse letting me know I was seven minutes late. I said I could make it in 10. She came back on a couple of minutes later and said they'd have to reschedule if I was fifteen minutes late. I told her I could be there five minutes. I arrived in 5 minutes 45 seconds. I walk in, but, the receptionist - new - was trying to figure out her phone for a couple minutes before she was able to get to me. After exchanging greetings, she looked to her clock and announced I was fifteen minutes late and asked if I wanted to reschedule. I said I was on-time, if she hadn't been taken up by her phone malady. No good, I would inconvenience everyone - the waiting room was empty - so I would have to reschedule. I said this minor procedure would take less than 15 minutes to do, how much time was allocated? I was told she couldn't say. So, I left. The practice is currently undergoing some practitioner change-over at the moment and, in fact, I'm losing my doctor at the end of the month. Besides, after fifteen years, to not even allow the courtesy of one late appointment, I told them I'm through. There's really no loyalty here anymore. So, next up, I'll collect my medical records and move on. read more

Very poor experience. I would not recommend going here. I only went here because I had an HMO and this is where I was referred. I was asked to quickly describe my problem; Dr. Bryan C. Schultz overall seemed irritable and difficult to talk to. They have a strict "no-show' or cancel policy, where they charge you $25 if you cancel--regardless of the reason. However, of note, when they wanted me to change my appointment time to an earlier time the same day (presumably because they had a cancellation) they called me two times in one day and made it seem like it was urgent to call them back. Uncomfortable and unpleasant are the words I'd use to describe my 2 separate, 5 min visits with the 2 physicians in the office. Granted, there are multiple plaques of recognition and awards on the walls for all to see, but both lacked any ability to build rapport and subsequently trust with me. The nurse and front desk staff weren't bad, but there are plenty of other smart, caring and compassionate healthcare professionals out there. I went to Clear Skin Dermatology for acne treatment. I am new to the area and I have been treated in other areas. The doctor would not take into consideration my suggestions for prescriptions that have worked for me in the past, and now my acne is worse. He was hard to understand and the nurse was completely rude to him right in front of me. I am very disappointed in my 2 visits there. read more

My experience with Dr. Shultz was horrible, I was over charged, he did nothing other than refer me to another of his over priced colleagues. I went to him for a skin rash that he didnot diagnose, I received more help from the pharmacist at Walgreens. Complete RIPOFF! Did a biopsy of a suspicious mole... if you call receiving 10 stitches a biopsy!! Then had to go back because it came back positive. Report said edges were clear, no kidding...if you take a massive area out just for the biopsy!! They still wanted me to come in for another cut, "just to be sure". Charged over $3000 which I have to pay because of large deductible with insurance. UNREAL. The PA that did the second cut was rude and unfriendly. She didn't use enough numbing medication, so I had to tell her 3 times that I could feel her cutting. I since have gone to another dermatologist. They did a biopsy of another area, just a quick surface skim, no stitches, could hardly see it. read more

The WORST dermatologists work here. They barely look at you when you come in for a consultation. Just prescribe a cream or shampoo and send you on your way. NO examination was given BOTH times I visited their office. They are just there to collect checks. Do not waste your co-pay or time here. read more

I had a terrible experience in this clinic. The staff was rude and worse of all, the doctor is about 90 years old, can't hear or see very well. A nurse had to explain things to me. On top of that, whatever treatment he used didn't work at all. I had to go to a different dermatologist to get results and I still had to pay his bill. I will never return to this clinic. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Schultz and his dedicated staff. I have been a patient for several years and am in good hands receiving excellent care. My grandfather was a dermatologist and I've been surrounded by medical professionals for most of my life, so I feel very qualified to write here. This is the first yelp review I've written and I hope people see it because I am very appreciative of the care given at Clear Skin Dermatology. I don't think we say "thank you!" often enough to our doctors. If I could give this place zero stars I would. This office has to be the least friendliest place I've been to..I read a review from 2013 that summed up exactly what I went through. Dr. comes in, mumbles to the nurse, and leaves. My follow-up visit was even worse. The nurse seemed irritated that she had to be in the room. He said to the nurse, "verbally tell me, quickly what the problem is." She sputtered out what I said to her. He shined a light and said "show me - go." Afterwards, more mumbling to the nurse. She was supposed to give me information, but didn't. Chucked my paperwork at the receptionist and went over to her computer. I've never been in a doctor's office where the doctor will not talk to you. When I tried to ask him questions about my skin condition he mumbled about not having cancer and to basically be grateful. Will not be returning here and do not recommend this office. read more
