ROBERT DAVIS MASONRY…read more OK, so I wanted some additions done to my block walls. I did the logical thing, I called the last guy I hired who did really good work about 18 months ago. Three calls and two emails later, and not a peep out of him. I hit the phone book and called a local guy. Two messages and not a peep. So I called a guy I used for other work and asked for a referral. He put me in touch with his father-in-law who did the local WalMart, and other big projects. He assured me he also did smaller jobs. Two messages and not a peep. What's with these people? Doesn't anybody want to work? Then, I glanced out my window and saw a truck pulling away from a neighbor's house having disgorged a load of cinder blocks. I ran from the front door, flailing my arms, stopping him before he could escape. I think I looked a little desperate. Bottom line, I learned that Bob Davis has many years of experience on new and occupied homes, and had done recent work for several neighbors. He scoped and measured my project, and within two hours he emailed a formal bid, which I quickly accepted, as it compared favorably with the cost of the other work 18 months ago. Bonus ... he could start the next day around noon! He and his crew showed up and started, and in just 48 hours had mixed and poured a small foundation, removed a metal gate, filled in that gap with masonry, raised two walls two and three courses respectively, and done an amazing job of cleanup when they finished. Their work was top quality, with everything flush and plumb, with all step-downs and corners beautifully finished. Bob is a very personable guy, he does top grade work, and his crewmen deliver the same quality (even when he has to run for supplies). Seeing the activity at my place, my next door neighbors also used Bob on a project in conjunction with mine, and they have him looking at a bigger project in the near future. They also repaired out gravel that let weeds take over our yard. It has been several months since they performed their most compete yard care and no more weeds. They were extremely reasonable in their rate and guaranteed that if any problems occurred to contact them immediately and they would stand behind their work. Again they were the only one who responded to our request for landscaping service (one company did give us a date and time and never showed up or called us). I would highly recommend their service. I regret hiring Blue Spruce Concrete & Landscaping for my garage slab. They poured it completely…read moreuneven, with one corner sitting 3 inches lower than the rest. Now, that corner floods every time it rains. I've been waiting 5 months for them to fix their mistake, and despite promises, they have not shown up. This company is unprofessional, unreliable, and does not stand behind their work. If you want quality work and accountability, go elsewhere. I will update this review if they ever decide to make it right--but I'm not holding my breath.

DO NOT USE "BLUE SPRUCE" For any brick wall or retaining…read morewall projects. As a family man, I wanted to pass along this information. We hired Blue Spruce to do work on our property which has been left unfinished and is a safety hazard for ourselves, our children and our pets. We hired Blue Spruce to build a 51' retaining wall and brick walls however they only built 33' of retaining wall. The multiple tons of dirt excavated from property has been left in our back yard. We were told at the beginning of job that Blue Spruce was to remove all dirt however after the job started they told us that they won't remove and it is up to the client to handle all dirt removal. From day 1 we asked for written estimates and plans with measurements however company was never able to provide a clear itemized cost sheet. At one point the owner told us to write up "our own" itemized cost sheet as she didn't have the time. We were told that workers knew what the plan was and they don't do blue prints. We had to supervise construction every day as there were 3 different instances that Blue Spruce was pouring concrete walls in the wrong place! This was to be a 3 week job however has now lasted for over 12 weeks and is still not resolved. Work site was left every day with wood, rebar, trash, tools, rocks and metal strewn all over property. Property was used as a storage facility for equipment while no work was being done on our property. Blue Spruce has demanded full payment for work that was never done and now additionally wants to charge extra fees for work that is needed to fix their incorrect job. They have threatened to put a lien on our houses through concrete company for not paying them full amount for a job not done. Our property has been left as a safety hazard for us and our children with exposed rebar and structurally unsound brick wall.
