I was in desperate need of an X-ray because I thought I broke my foot. They are within an easy 8 minute driving distance to our hotel in South Portland and they were open until 8PM. It was after 5PM, with no options that were very close to where we are staying near the mall. I'm so glad I called them. They were great. Everyone I dealt with from the administrative rep to the medical personnel were kind, patient, and knowledgeable. It was a cheerful facility, clean, bright and plenty of parking. Even though I did leave in a boot and on crutches, it was a positive experience. Highly recommend them! read more

Rude front desk staff and a condescending physician who did not listen to me when I noted why I could not take a certain antibiotic. He prescribed it anyway. I used a virtual doctor the next day and she told me that med could have killed me. Glad I got a second opinion. read more

This review is similar to the other reviews about suspect billing practices and not the service. I went to urgent care with a suspected case of conjunctivitis fall 2023. The person (not sure if he was a doctor or nurse) agreed I probably had early symptoms and perscribed medication without any exam. I paid $15 for medication at the desk. I was then billed $177.50 in January 2024 after my insurance was billed $630.49!!!!! Simply to get medication for a common case of conjunctivitis with NO exam! Are they serious? I called billing to question the validity of the bill and ask if the coding was correct. Billing did not provide any new information and redirected me to email the Billing Center. They have not replied and it is 3 months later. I have recieved another bill for the $15 I have already paid, however!! I will never go into another Urgent Care again. I will only use Minute Clinics when I have an illness and suspect I will be charged a fair amount for services and will not be billed twice for their services. read more

Once again I have received Excellent medical care at Clear ChoiceMD Urgent Care in Scarborough, ME (I regularly use this facility as I have been so happy with my visits that I keep returning!) My team: Megs for Registration; Jared, PA-C as my Medical Provider; Jake, my A-EMT and Bri, my RT (R) on clinical staff did not disappoint! This group of wonderful people provided me with a spot-on diagnosis, a warm and nurturing care environment, and fast and speedy visit! I particularly love that the center often has the exact meds I need so I don't have to go to a pharmacy after my visit. This is so helpful for me especially when I am ill and too tired to drive to a pharmacy after my visit. I do however drive a little farther to get to this facility from my house in Standish just to be greeted by warm and professional the people inside! Thank you TEAM! read more

I was so pleased with the care I received today at ClearChoiceMD Urgent Care. Although my care wasn't urgent, just a quick blood draw, I was treated quickly and with amazing customer service, from the woman at the front desk who greeted me, the friendly woman who checked me in, the paramedics who drew my blood (and did an amazing job in this scaredy-cat) and the doctor who didn't make me wait!!!! Wish I could leave negative stars. My word, went in to see if hip was broken since it was swelled up like a grapefruit. Extremely painful, could not walk without crutches. Get the x-ray done, Dr. comes in & says "nope, not broken- we don't know what it is." Then pain continues as well as swelling. My primary orders x-ray. Get results & find out the plastic that surrounds ball joint from hip replacement IS CRACKED! This caused infection (swelling & extreme pain.) and yet these quacks could not read an x-ray which clearly showed the defective hip replacement & the crack in it. This is 2022..DO BETTER !! Around 7:00 p.m. Friday I noticed that my right wrist was covered with what looked like black fly bites, although it's too early for black fly season, I think? I had spent a little time in my backyard woods and did some yard clean up, so I knew it had to be some kind of nasty insect bites. There were seven of them close to one another so the whole area was deep red and puffy. I had never seen any bites or inflammation like this before and this is coming from someone who won a "mosquito haven" award in summer camp as a kid. I looked online and saw that ClearChoice MD was open until 8. I made the quick ride over and was in and seen within minutes. The doc assured me that there were no burrowed bugs in my skin (sometimes the grossness is scarier than any potential disease-causing bites) but that I'd need a prescription strength ointment. It was called into my pharmacy immediately and the topical steroid cream he prescribed has worked wonders. I know from the past that a visit here is actually costs less than an office visit to my PCP. What's really nice is that a got a phone call from them yesterday checking to see if I was improving. After breaking two fingers in an unfortunate accident, I went to ClearChoiceMD in Scarborough. I was blown away by the prompt, professional and courteous care I received! Courtney was very kind and considerate when taking x-rays and prepping me for the doctor, and Dr. Mark Durcan was very professional, caring, and kind while I was there. He patiently answered my many questions, and clearly explained what I needed to do for follow up. He even called me the next day to see how I was doing and if I had any questions or concerns. I've never had such a positive experience from emergency care! I will definitely use them again if needed and will recommend them to others. read more

Went this AM with a 4 day upper respiratory, persistent cough,headaches and no sleep for 3 nights. Met with Jared Thompson,PA, and describe the whole history including the fact that 4 doses of Robitussin DM had not touched the cough. He presescribed pred, ABX and a stronger cough medicine than over the counter. Went to pharmacy where they said they would have trouble filling a script for a controlled substance through e mail. Called Jared and discussed with him I was coming back for a hard copy of a cough med with codeine. He agreed reluctantly, but agreed to fill. Drove back, got the hard copy, back to pharmacy. Tech said this was basically and over the counter Robitussin DM. NOT WHAT JARED HAD SAID HE WOULD PRESCRIBE IN OUR CALL. This all took me 2 hours for not the results I needed while feeling miserable. Go back to med school Jared and get it right this time. UPDATE- The correct medication has been called in. read more

This review has nothing to do with the medical services they provide, and everything to do with their suspect billing practices. We brought our son in back in May and were told by the front desk that we needed to provide our debit card information, even though we have used our HSA card there multiple times in the past. We asked why they needed our debit information and they told us that it was because people haven't been paying their bills. Really? This is happening here in Scarborough Maine?? LOL. A month and a half later without receiving any bills or communication from them as to what we were responsible for paying, we suddenly have $172 debited from our bank account. No notice or explanation at all. We called them multiple times that day (spoke with the same person, Jason, all three times - wondered if he was the only person in their billing department), to see why they didn't use our HSA card and he was one of the most unhelpful individuals we have ever dealt with. We asked for the debit transaction to be reversed as it was still on hold with our bank, and to charge our HSA instead and he basically lied and told us that was impossible. WRONG. My wife works in retail and reverses pending transactions all the time. I asked him to remove our bank information from their system and he said I will need to send an email somewhere requesting that. What kind of a micky mouse operation is this? Honestly, what would stop them from charging whatever they want for their services and then automatically debiting the money without giving their customers a chance to even review the charges first? Website indicates hours of operation, daughter showed up at 7 pm for a Covid test, she was told that they were "done for the night." When I called in I got the dispatch center indicating our situation. I was put on hold listening to their on hold message that they're all about "keeping people safe" If you're about keeping people safe why turn those away? The dispatch center came back on the line telling me that they had "no more tests" and were waiting on a delivery first thing in the morning. If that was the case why wouldn't they just say that? Which is it? done for the night or no more test available that you ran out? More confusions and lies in a pandemic! I'm so disgusted as to how this is being handled. So I ask how are you ....Clear Choice Scarborough how is that keeping your community safe? That wasn't a safe choice in my opinion. I get it your short staffed and over worked but be honest with patients that walk into your clinic. read more

PLEASE BE AWARE of their financial policy!! They ask you to sign a paper to do an automatic withdrawl from your account. Which is fine HOWEVER they DO NOT notify you when they initiate the withdraw or the amount. Like most Americans, we don't have large sums of money at our disposal. This unnotified withdrawl from our account caused several overdraft charges and serious problems for us. Contacted their office and they were very cold and uncaring that this was a problem and they were the cause of this financial stress. And seemed ready to defend, as if it wasn't the first complaint. All that needed to be done was to notify in writing the amount owed and the date of withdrawl to avoid this mess. Will not be returning there, there are too may others to choose from. read more

They were fast getting me seen and getting me taken care of, took my insurance. Much faster than the ER. They were accommodating and were also very thorough. I recommend them if you have something that you need to see a doctor for but you are not serious enough for ER visit. Waiting time here is less. And they do take Insurances as well as private pay. read more

Talk about the WORST urgent care of all time. I went in for a visit and was prescribed medication which they said they'd electronically send to the pharmacy. I was in extreme discomfort and waited 24hrs... 24hrs to follow up with them. When I called back to inquire about what was going on they told me to call cvs and had me chase my tail for nothing all day. The girl even hung up on me after I was very polite and just asking simple questions. They told me they sent the script over and there was NOTHING they could do. Cvs said have them send it to another pharmacy and they refused to look for another solution to take care of a patient. I now have to be in pain and discomfort until my sickness goes away. I would NEVER recommend sending any family or friends or my worst enemy here. Neglecting patients and still charging them for the visit is beyond unethical to me. STAY AWAY read more

I have never written a review in my life nor do I like to complain. I am very understanding when it comes to things and seldom find myself upset with service I've recieved. However this urgent care was by far one of the worst I have ever dealt with. Let me be clear that the staff themselves were very kind but the doctor I had was lacking a few things. I arrived complaining of what felt like a UTI very painful. After several tests they didn't find any signs of a UTI and were unsure of what was going on so the doctor asked a series of questions to figure something out. At the end of the appointment he told me he was unsure of what was going on and that was that. Told me I could be constipated to take some Mirlax or It could be blood build up behind my bladder causing irritation to take some Aleive. Neither of these things worked. My appointment lasted all of 10-15 mins, I felt rushed. I got my paperwork to go home with and just about every word on the paper work had been missed spelled. You could tell it was rushed and the doctor was careless. I was very unhappy with this service. The financial department was another story they wanted to charge me 150 dollars for this appointment! So I called explained my situation and they were very cold and didn't seem to care about the poor service I received only wanted there money. I told them how unsure that I was treated properly and that I needed a second opinion (York Hospital Urgent Care). They found a lot more going on, went through things and found a cyst in my overy that will need to be removed, totally irrelevant but some symptoms I was having we figured were from the cyst. They didn't care I said I could make payments but I was also out of work due to breaking my ankle and wasn't getting paid so money was very limited. They do a 3 payment policy if you dont want interest to accrue. So that means 75 dollars upfront than two installments of 37 and some change! Are you kidding me. Now I have paid the 75 and the first installment of 37. When I set this up they told me I have to call in for payment and I did the first 2 times. I look at my bank account today and they automatically withdrawal the final installment! I'm not working still and 40 dollars is food on the table for me. I start working soon and would of been able to pay the final amount without issue at the end of the month with my first paycheck! I tried to call and conveniently they are not open to speak to me but can take my money today?! Why all of a sudden would you take money from me when I was told to call each month for payment. Never ever will I stop here again. Total rip off. Wish I could attached picture of my take home paperwork so you could see. I work in thr medical field myself and when getting complaints that are justifiable I make things right or do anything I can do to make that client happy. read more

My review is not about the staff or service - they were wonderful during my visit - but the absolute ABSURD billing and "expert coding" department(s) are enough to make me never return. I was wildly overcharged for a 20 minute visit for literally "nothing more than an eye scratch" as a new patient, 45+ minute DOCTOR appointment. I saw the actual doctor for less than 3 whole minutes (which is being generous) and was in and out of the facility in less than a half hour. Not to mention, I had to revisit another doctor 3 days later and was provided a conflicting diagnosis and prescription! When I called their billing department to discuss the level of service and visit I was charged for, I was met with combative banter about the "complexity" of the doctor's "analysis" of my situation and how it was reviewed by "expert medical coders". My mother has been a medical coder for 30 years and I explored the path myself, I'm not new to the way things work. I get it, and I know I was overcharged for my visit and I know that they could decrease the tier of the visit. Further, I was provided absolutely no accurate explanation, and given a blanket mailbox to send my person medical records and dispute to, and they could consider it for the next however many months. Stay away. You're better off at an actual ER. Total fraud for the sake of being a boutique urgent care. I will be disputing, and will also have a formal appeal submitted by my insurance on my behalf. read more

Our family was on vacation in Scarborough this summer, and my wife came down with severe nausea and vomiting, as well as some other flu symptoms. This clinic was great - very quick to be seen, even on a weekend, staff very friendly and responsive, doctors seemed competent and professional. The bill was even reasonable!
