I asked why - it took several weeks and multiple phone calls and emails but I was advised "when benefits were pulled, the system was pulling amounts from last year. Since they billed through the day of surgery they did not run a new estimate (?) When the claim was processed it was processed with this years benefits" So now I'm stuck with a much larger amount due.
