I've been visiting for years and absolutely adore the owners, and Morgan. They are truly treasures and it's a treat to be in their presence each time I pop in. I love everything in the store so definitely have to restrain myself so I don't buy it all! Lots of fun and unique finds. In the back there is a wine tasting room where you can sample a selection of ellijay and Georgia winery wines as well as moonshine and slushies!!! I LOVE it all!! We bought an Ashley Cannonbrook sectional that was delivered in August 2024. Within about 100 days of normal family use, the seats were sagging, the cushions lost their shape, and one of the main seams ripped open so the inside material is exposed. This is not normal wear and tear for a new sectional. Furniture of Dalton submitted a claim to Ashley, but Ashley called it normal wear and tear and only offered filler and casings with no labor. After that, the store told me they could not do anything further to help. When I spoke with Terry Parmer, I did not feel like he was trying to find a solution. As a Client Relations Manager myself, the way this was handled felt very dismissive and focused on deflecting responsibility rather than taking care of a longtime customer. At this point I have had to go through my bank, BBB, and consumer protection just to try to get a fair resolution. All I am asking for is a refund and for them to pick up the defective sectional. Based on this experience, I would not purchase from Furniture of Dalton again.

I was thrilled. Finding its tag naming Country Friends as its source made it even more special to me because my roots are in north Georgia's Chattooga County. They paid some attention to two people looking for a wedding gift, but never bothered to acknowledge that I was in the store. No greeting, no wave, nada. I thought that was a little odd. I was interested in some decor featuring a cute dragonfly theme, but opted not to buy it because I was completely ignored, which seemed pretty odd in comparison with my other very positive experiences in other retail shops along the downtown historic district. I looked around quite a bit, saw a few unique things at both high and lower end prices and plenty of run of the mill stuff that I could easily get at any TJ Maxx, Marshall's or even Home Goods, although not as much funky or hard to find items as I would've liked. Still, the store did have a few things I truly liked, but lack of customer service and ridiculous markups on mundane pieces (candles, vases, fragrances) that I can get anyplace else at low prices led to my walking out empty-handed, despite wanting the beautiful dragonfly art that I saw. As I headed out the door, I still elicited no response from the lady behind the counter or anyone else. No "goodbye, have a good day, stop in again," nada. This shop (a tad out of the way and located on a shady side street behind the Main Street area of downtown Calhoun) was actually recommended to my husband and myself by another local business owner. She thought I'd love it and probably be able to find something interesting for the house and she was right! This shop is filled wall to wall with scads of super cute home decor, accessories, boutique clothing g and jewelry. It has a little of this and that, in other words. It definitely my cup of tea and truthfully, I could have spent a fortune in here redecorating my place, but I showed restraint and curbed my impulse to shop a bit, so I would up picking up some moderately-priced decor items and let it go at that. I'm sure my husband was pleased by that! In the end, I grabbed some items with a distinct mercury glass motif and a candle. Everything was gorgeous, eclectic and most of it seemed moderately-priced, but the larger decorative accents and custom handbags were obviously pricier. The lady the owns the store was super nice and helpful, very friendly and knowledgeable. Next time I'm in town (my family lives nearby), I'll be certain to come back for another shopping trip and this time I'm gonna delve into the clothing and accessories section a tad more. It looked super eclectic when I scoped the racks, but my eye was drawn more to the decor side of the boutique. Though I didn't splurge that much on this trip, I did come away with some interesting ideas for redecorating and updating my house, so that's awesome. The store is a decorator's paradise chock full of great design inspiration. It felt like I walked into a layout for Domino or Elle Decor magazine. Great selections and first rate service.
