Ok, this isn't a review of the BBQ... I stopped in here about a year ago and wasn't a fan of the chopped beef sandwich. But, not having any other choices with a livestock trailer, I pulled in here. Order a cheeseburger. She made it while I waited so it was fresh. I grabbed my to-go bag and headed to my truck. Took one bite, and holy crap, this was good. Seriously one of the best tasting burgers I've had, especially from a gas station. Just the right amount of grease to give it a really good, seasoned flavor. I know the fries were frozen, but they were cooked right and seasoned properly. All-in-all, I was pleasantly surprised. I may have to drive out of my way to get another burger! read more

Was not friendly, asked for lean brisket and out of 3 plated and sandwiched none of it was lean. Worst bbq i ever had would not recommend it

Ordered a three meat plate with brisket spicy sausage and ribs. The spicy sausage was good. Other than that. I got two wads of fat. The two sides I got coleslaw and potato salad. Didn't look very appetizing and I wasn't in the mood to get a stomach ache so I passed not a very friendly environment either. I don't know why if you're gonna work in the food industry. You can't at least put a fake smile on or when somebody ask you how your day is going you say it's going OK but not here definitely if you're in the mood for barbecue I would pass on this place unless you just want spicy sausage that was pretty good. read more

Didn't eat the food, but I stopped at the CEFCO to use the restroom. A cook from the restaurant walked in, wearing his work apron, used the urinal, and walked out without washing his hands. Disgusting!!! read more

Just left the restaurant. The young man who was there was obsessed with killing flies. Swatted them on tables and above the food service areas. He had to borrow the flyswatter from the gas station. Then he had to chabge all the serving utensils...and brought new ones without washing his hands. His profanity at the flies was loud and obnoxious. I told him that swatting the flies was a health hazard .but he justignored me. We stop here quite often...but after today will have to think twice. read more

This is my go to place for barbecue in little Cameron, Texas. But today was a little different than usual. I ordered my usual Sliced Beef Sandwich, but was told they were out of brisket! How can you be out of brisket at 4:00 in the afternoon? So I was offered a sirloin beef sandwich. When I asked about the way it was prepared the kid at the window said "well it's a different kind of beef and it's really tough!" I said well I'll have a Chopped Beef Sandwich, but wait do you have chopped beef if you don't have brisket? Yes we have that. Ok give my that, a piece of sausage and always my favorite beans. Got it home, looks pretty good but I literally live right across the street from this place and everything was cold. Cold chopped beef and sausage aren't really good when you expect them to be warm. My all time favorite beans were scorched. Maybe there was a different cook today. read more

UNSAFE! I stopped and grab a bite yesterday, but none of the four employees were wearing masks. I was astounded, and when I remarked on it the smugly and proudly replied "Nope! No masks!" Almost 1/3 of a million Americans dead, over 3 million people worldwide, and these people can't stand a little discomfort and inconvenience to be certain they don't infect patrons and neighbors?! Certainly won't be stopping here ever again! There is a Texas burger/subway and Dairy Queen just up the road that are easy to get to. Visit those places instead. read more

Cute little spot near the edge of town. Very clean. Decor aligns with the establishment's purpose. Friendly staff, very clean kitchen and dining areas, and great 90s country music to listen to as you enjoy your meal. Food was very good. We had the jalapeño sausage link and sliced brisket sandwich. Not to be mean, because I'm grateful this place is here for truckers. However, the food is ALWAYS cold. The onions sit out all day at room temp and turn color. The beans have zero flavor. It's just sub par food. I guess since they have to bring it all the way from temple. I will still buy here because that's all there is here. Staff is very friendly though. Sweet tea is not sweet, I drank the un sweet and it's basically just brown water as well... read more

Ordered a chopped beef sandwich. The buns were crusty, hard and inedible. There was barely enough meat to cover the base of the bun and it was mediocre in flavor. I showed the workers /manager letting them know they should open a fresh package of buns for the next hopeful customer. No apologies or offers to make it right. Poorly run show here. read more

The brisket and chopped pork is very good. The service is fast and friendly. I bought their seasoning and have used it at home. It's very good as well. I recommend this place to all families. read more

I've eaten here on and off for the last 10 years, whenever I'm passing through Cameron. Stopped today, and it's the LAST time I eat here. Got a sliced beef sandwich. Three & a half slices of beef, that were 1/3 fat, not much bbq sauce, but LOTS of pickles.........more bread than anything else. Totally unimpressed. Won't be stopping there again. read more

Brisket was a little dry but had a good flavor. Pork ribs were very good. Healthy portions of sides. Room temperature was a little warm. Waaaay better than Dickie's BBQ read more

Everything exceeded my expectations. You roll up to a drive-thru BBQ joint (especially one attached to a gas station), and you really don't know what to expect. Except maybe mediocrity. But, alas! The ribs were better than I expected, the fries were actually seasoned, the potato salad was solid, and the sausage was tasty. My wife said it was the best catfish she'd had in awhile, so I took a bite (or 3), and I agree! Definitely a nice place to stop on your way to wherever when going through Cameron. read more

I've stopped here a few times over the years. It isn't consistent, but I can't say it was ever truly bad. Varies from basic fast food approach to BBQ to sometimes flat out good meats. The sides are really generic, plates are typical to high for pricing, portions are ok, service is normally nice. If you're doing the Hwy 77 trek across Texas and want to gas up, do the convenience store thing, and get something a step up from convenience store food, this is your place. read more

Went into town for dinner on Saturday night and ordered brisket and ribs. I found them astoundingly meh. They really deserve one star except that the place was clean and pleasant. The meats tasted like they had been done in an electric oven. No evidence of smoke or rub was on either. The cole slaw was soggy. The optional sauce, "bold" by their description tasted like Kraft. The standard sauce was gravy. Very b-o-r-i-n-g. I am not a capable bbq guy but I could have done better! I would not waste my time eating here again. read more

Awesome burger and fries. Also is connected to a truck stop so big vehicles can get and out of here. It's a great place to spend the night and they also have some really good sweet tea! Def stop if you are passing through! read more

This is a tuff review bc I usually only do really great reviews or really bad ones...this one is "mediocre bad, bordering on good" if that makes any sense... Ok, so it looks cheap and "chain" like bc it's beside a gas station...so bc of that I think they lose serious passerby BBQ conisuerers right off the bat. Those that venture onward can flip a coin bc consistency does not seem to be their strong suit, but you still stand a chance of getting a great sandwich or plate. My experience is two-fold, I ordered a 1/2 ham, 1/2 turkey sandwich for example...they were clearly out of turkey and ham bc I recieved a few "ends" of the turkey and ham and it was cut very thick and in odd chunky sorts of shapes (clearly the last serving of each). However, both the turkey and ham were extremely tender, beyond my amazement! I was surprised at the moistnesses of the turkey specifically, especially considering the end cuts... it's unfortunate that they cannot be more consistent (and not serve "ends") FINAL WORDS: If your traveling through Cameron, and are hungry for or craving BBQ, I'd suggest stopping, just make your order clear...tell them u want sufficient meat and you want center cut or whatever...just make sure youre not getting their last piece. With this knowledge up front, u shouldn't be disappointed :) read more

We found hair in two plates of three that we ordered and no one who works there uses hairnets and when I told the worker he didnt care and did not apologize. I find this unexcusable and will never return read more

Don't waste your money. The barb a q is brought in from temple so it is not fresh. Nice people but didn't like the food.

I've eaten here twice now, and was pleased both times. It is a hole in the wall spot, but clean. Pricing is okay. Quality is decent, and flavor is good. It isn't anything spectacular, but I would eat here again next time I'm driving through. You can get a BBQ burger and drink for under $10, but full meals will cost $11 to $15 plus drink. read more

Excellent. You would think that it's not that great since they are attached to a Ceffco gas station but this is a hidden gem. The brisket is awesome, the ribs are just spicy enough and the bbq is on point. Combine it with the buttered potatoes and get ready to go to sleep. Will be my stop everytime we come through Cameron TX.....just found out there is one in Killeen, Temple and Belton. :) read more

On our way to Galveston we swung through this location. It was fast food meets BBQ kind of place. They have everything made up. It wasn't very fresh (more so than necessary). The coleslaw was obviously a few days old. The meat was good but not overly impressive. The sides were equally OK. read more

Stopped in for late lunch on the drive back to Dallas from Rocky Hill. Had the Pork Loin plate and was very tender, the spicy sauce was just right and the green beans tasted like good ole southern green beans! Atmosphere was lacking due to gas station location, but place was clean, sweet tea was good and all four in my party enjoyed their meals! read more
