I purchased a 2025 Ford Ranger from Clement Ford on December 23, 2025 because they had the exact model I wanted. I had already arranged financing through my credit union and made that clear from the start. Despite that, the sales manager, Randy, repeatedly pressured me -- more than five or six times -- to change my financing. The sales employee I was working with was professional, but Randy's persistent, high-pressure approach made the whole buying experience uncomfortable. A couple months later, after the cold and snowy weather finally cleared, I washed the truck and discovered rough, sandpapery bumps (like clear plastic overspray) on the driver-side mirror, along with small scratches in the plastic/glass. The maintenance manager told me, since the truck was new, to take it to sales and see if they could help. The same sales rep I'd worked with went back and forth between me and Randy again, and I immediately recognized this would not be a great customer service experience -- just like when I bought the truck. After returning for a third time, the sales rep told me they could not do anything -- not even try to clean or remove the bumps. I noticed these imperfections on February 27, 2026, the first warm day I had a chance to wash it, just two months after purchase. I buy a new vehicle every 2-4 years and have never had a bad experience buying a car or needing post-sale service until now. I'm very disappointed and will not buy another vehicle from this dealership. I will also be sharing this experience with colleagues and friends. Clement Ford needs to improve how management respects customers' financing decisions and how they handle legitimate post-sale quality concerns. read more

Clement Ford Service DEPT system requires you to talk to a computer. They do not call you back. They do not text you back. Ever since they went to the system they are a nightmare to deal with. The service people treat you very well however you must drive in and talk to them to find out what's going on with your vehicle. This is an impossible system, and I can't imagine that anyone is happy with them. Most recently I had my Ford F150 towed in early one morning and they actually responded when I called because their computer was down and said it was ready to pick up in the afternoon. NOPE! They hadn't touched it. So it sat through the weekend again. I called and text them three times today. No response!I I have completely lost my trust in Clement Ford. read more

I would give my repair experience NEGATIVE stars if it was possible. This dealership now has had our truck for 8 DAYS. NO LOANER OFFERED OR PROVIDED. Service department advisors do NOT answer their phone; only communicate by text. I have called multiple times and asked for the service manager; get voicemail every time; CALLS ARE NEVER returned. Estimate and price charged is double what was reported. Charging $335 labor for a $50 part. Truck was supposed to be returned at 11am. It is now 5pm and still no truck. I am APPAULED by Clement's lack of integrity and advisor's lack of basic customer service skills. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. UPDATE: It's 5:24. Driver set to return the truck got into vehicle and the error faut is back on. Vehicle hasn't even left the parking lot. 8 days at dealership. Advisor texted it was fixed and money was required to be paid. Money was paid or they would not release vehicle. Vehicle still having same issue. IT IS NOT FIXED. I went to Clement looking for a new truck. Damon showed me around the new facility, beautiful, and showed me around the new F150. It is a very nice truck, but a number of significant differences to my '19 F150 I was looking to trade. A couple things could not be overcome - the twin turbos vs an 8 cylinder and the power deploy running boards which do not deploy sufficiently to 'walk' into truck ( I have two senior mothers ). The two product issues aside, Damon spent the weekend looking across the country to find something closer to the options I wanted - I think he found 4 - but the dealerships must not have been willing to part with them. I have gone back and forth with Clement Service department. Some items require the dealership to take care of that local shops are not willing to do. I have bought another vehicle from them also. The service department was doing really bad but had something come up so I took in one of the vehicles worked on again. I meet a woman by the name of Shylan who took care of everything the way you would expect, instead of guys standing around more worried about their meals and protein shakes they had to have. Shylan worked for Clement for a while and I always took my fleet vehicles to her knowing that the vehicles would be taken care of. I knew I would be kept up to date on the progress. Shylan has left the company in recent months but I still believed things had changed. I was so wrong! The car that I bought from them and had services done on there had an issue come up with the drive train. I was not updated and the company had the car for three months. I am guessing the pricing had changed in those three months from the O'Fallon location to the Wentzville location. I refused to pay the extra $2,000.00 when i got the final bill on an $11,000 quote. l paid the $11,000 only. January 18th we purchased a2019 Dodge Ram pickup. It is now March 23rd and I'm still waiting for the title to be able to pay my taxes and get the truck legal. I've talked to the salesman, the woman in charge of the titles, the sales manager, and the general manager. They keep giving me the run around. First was told the title was sent to the original owner, had him come in to sign for a lost title, and it would be about a week, now a month later still no title. I called Jefferson City myself and the said it was sent on the 15th. Called them immediately and low and behold they just got it in the mail today and no one called me. NEVER AGAIN. Let me start with this, I have been buying parts here since 2006. The prior ownership seemed to value customer service, and I had hoped that the new owners would have continued this business practice. I don't think the employees that are still there are to blame for the problems they have here. The location was extremely convenient for me to stop on my way to my shop and pick up the parts I ordered. I have never had a delivery from them, I always went to them. Since the ownership change occurred I figured there would be an adjustment period, and things would smooth out. I was wrong. The short staff issues have reduced the ability to reach them by phone. On several occasions it has disconnected, and after redialing it rings and rings and rings, or disconnects again. Maybe seven out of ten times when I actually get through and I am connected to the parts department, no one answers. They have a prompt to leave a message, but I learned that that is a complete waste of effort. I have never had a call returned. Fewer people might lower the overhead, but it does not enhance the customers experience. I have stopped in on several occasions in order to check availability and pricing of needed parts, only to be bombarded by the new practice of playing music thru large speakers by the entrance of the dealership. I cannot stress enough, that this is not enjoyable. Today, 11/7/23, is the last time i will use them. Several attempts to contact the parts department failed, and I'm not driving there to price 2 windshield washer squirters for a 14 year old vehicle. What I did though, was contact their competitor, in Saint Charles, where the phone was promptly answered, parts purchased, by a dealership that seems to understand how the process works. I am truly sorry for the blameless employees at Clement Ford, but I wouldn't be surprised if the situation resolves itself, as the sales fall, and they abandon the dealership, as I have read more

I purchased my 2020 Ford Explorer brand new, and within just 6 months the transmission failed and had to be replaced under warranty. At 99,000 miles, it failed again, but this time the dealership misdiagnosed the issue, charged me $1,256.35 for an unnecessary axle/actuator repair, and only later admitted it was actually the transmission again. Despite their service director and team acknowledging the mistake and promising a refund, I've received no follow-up, no refund, and no accountability. The entire ownership experience has been riddled with mechanical issues and poor customer service. I would never recommend this vehicle or this dealership. THEY CHANGED OUT THE BATTERY TO ERASE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!! i noticed a light on the 1st time seeing the vehicle. second day i went in to give them some paperwork and the mechanic walked up to me and ask if i have time to get few things fixed on the used vehicle that i just got from them. he goes on to say to the car salesman next to me, "i didnt know that you guys sold the vehicle,it needed a new battery,headlight and brakes ...". after they put in the new battery,there was no display of the light being on. i went to a outside mechanic days later and told them about the light and if they could check it out. i felt that clement ford removed the battery to erase the light. i was told that "people would remove the car battery to erase information/check engine lights.... but give it some time, if theres an issue with the car still, it will come back on". the outside mechanic also shared with me that they could not do a diagnostic on the light because there is no light on at that time. what do you know, he was right! 7 months later the check engine light came on!! i got it checked out,and yes there is a issue. i had this vehicle less than a year! i called the dealership and was told my warranty is that they would pay 20% and i would pay the remainder. and they would look into any history they would have on the vehicle. i told them about the check engine light and i was told i would get a call back. its been 4 days and no call back. they are dishonest and thieves. i shouldnt have to pay for stuff they purposefully tried to hide ,lied and cover up. they should compensate because of what they did wrong read more

I took my car in to get a few different services completed with my car. Tire pressure sensors, navigation software update, and a diagnostics test for an issue I was having with my transmission. They kept my vehicle for 2 days despite expressing confidence that they would be able to everything completed by the end of the day I dropped it off. There was zero updated provided by anyone on progress for my services unless I reached out and when I did they acted like I was inconveniencing them for reaching out. Upon completion of the service they let me know that the transmission was shot and I would be needing a new one and offered up zero alternatives but when I asked for a copy of the transmission diagnostics tests that was supposedly completed they said they didn't have one. They also didn't bother to complete the navigation update, stating there wasn't one. After the "services" were paid for, I asked the customer service rep to follow me out to my car and I showed them the navigation issue I was referring to and they proceeded to give me a blank stare and made no attempt to offer to fix their miss. It was clear the dealership was looking for a money grab and made no attempt to prioritize customer service. I wouldn't recommend Clement Ford to anyone unless you are looking to spend more money than is necessary or you are looking to waste your time. However, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when undisclosed damage was discovered on my vehicle. For the past five months I have been on a rollercoaster of frustration. I had previously written a review about my experience at Clement, buying a Bronco and being told by 2 sales associates that it came with a hard and soft top, only to find out later that I had been misinformed. Randy, the sales manager, replied that in a post (not by phone or in person) that "he was sorry for the misunderstanding." There was no misunderstanding on my part! I was told by the sales representatives at the time of purchase that the vehicle came with a soft top. I understood it very clearly as I had been shopping for Broncos for a few months and most of them come with both tops. Randy also advised that the window sticker on the vehicle clearly outlines the features included. It should be noted that if you go to the dealership, the windows on the vehicles are tinted and you cannot see anything, including the price or options on the sticker, which is why the question was asked by me....2 x. There was no follow up call by the associate or manager as to what they would do to rectify the situation. Thru an online review he posted "We're sorry for any confusion this caused and understand your frustration. I'm working closely with our team to ensure that everyone is properly trained and can clearly explain vehicle features in the future." HOW DOES THAT HELP ME or RECTIFY THE SITUATION? I'm not sure if it is improper training or just pushing to sell a vehicle and telling the customer what they want to hear and NOT STANDING BY WHAT THEY SAID. What horrible customer service. I purchased a $60,000 vehicle from them and that is what I get??? Not an offer to provide a soft top or even split the cost? I used the prior company for years. When Clement took over I asked has any thing change, they said no. Well in the shop a lot changed, I did not recognize anyone. My first oil change with Clement tripled in price! This change was not discussed until I was presented with the bill. I decided to take my business else where. Today I went some where else for a oil change and they informed me my cabin air filter was missing! I went to clement to discuss this and they pulled up all my records and determined it was likely removed in 2019 by the prior company. Now I understand they did not do it but why did they not catch it on one of the oil changes that they did since. Took car to Christian Brothers Auto on 1/4/2023 as we saw coolant puddle in driveway underneath vehicle. Christian brothers auto diagnosed and said, "Removed spark plugs and used camera to inspect inside of the combustion chamber. Found signs of coolant intrusion on tops of cylinders and cylinder walls. Due to engine being known bad for cracked cylinder walls. Technician recommends replacement of engine. Ford has TSB for this issue" Ford has issued a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) for 2017-2019 Ford Escape vehicles with a 1.5L EcoBoost engine that were built before April 8, 2019. The bulletin, dated June 9, 2022, covers coolant intrusion into the cylinder bores and offers a one-time, no-cost repair for the 1.5L short block. So we took car to Clement ford and they said that they found nothing wrong with the car. They did a spark plug replacement and fuel injection cleaning and charged us $584.51. Then in July of 2024, we started seeing heavy white smoke coming out exhaust and coolant disappearing but no signs of coolant on ground. So we took the car to Lou Fusz ford this time in hope for better service. We paid Lou Fusz ford $195 for a diagnostic test (on 7/12/2024) for our issue as coolant is being lost and white smoke is coming out the exhaust pipe at startup, which are the primary symptoms of the TSB. Lou Fusz Ford is claiming that all coolant tests passed and no IDs found relevant to TSB issue mentioned above. Lou Fusz is claiming the coolant is leaking through the weep hole in the water pump as cause for antifreeze leaking. However, smoke from exhaust at startup says additional diagnosis required. So Lou Fusz ford did not even complete the diagnosis that we paid for. And we have now paid Ford dealerships $390 for diagnostic fees and the car has not even been diagnosed. Complained and service manager at lou fusz ford agreed it sounded like issue and would take it back in for another look and claimed they would fully diagnose white smoke coming out exhaust. The car did not get looked at for over 10 days and then they just again tell us we will need to pay additional $600 to diagnose white smoke as they will need to remove the exhaust. Service manager agreed to refund my $195 diagnostic fee as they did not diagnose the white smoke issue. We took the vehicle to another mechanic shop (Len's Automotive) on 8/16/2024 who says "There is a small coolant mark on the water pump but nothing below it like it's leaking. There's a TSB for coolant intrustion into the cylinders causing it to smoke. There is also extended warranty for this that he should be covered at teh dealer." Len's Automotive advised that no coolant is coming out of water pump and we need to take the car back to ford to address the bulletin issue which would be cause of the issue. So we have both Christian Brothers Automotive and Len's Automotive telling us the current issues are due to the TSB with Ford. It seems clear to us that Ford is trying to get out of fixing an engine that is covered under warrantied TSB bulletin. White smoke out exhaust and coolant disappearing are the key symptoms on the bulletin. read more

We didn't even buy a car from them because they jacked our pricing around twice, said the car we were there to test drive was missing for weeks (in reality it was sitting on their lot and I showed it to them) and tried to push several weird extended warranties on us during the sales process. The whole experience at the dealership felt cheap and fake. We stood in their main lobby right by the front desk for several minutes while 4 employees looked at their phones and looked back at us and left us standing there, we should have walked out then. Not a fan of this dealership. Only reason I bought a car from Clement was because the next closest vehicle of comparison was located in KC. I've read stories on social media about how Clement dealerships operate, yet gave them an opportunity to change my perception, and they failed. I inquired about the vehicle via their website so ofcourse a salesman reached out to me. This was fine until he called my phone 3 times in a row, back to back to back. Can't imagine this sells cars but whatever. I still came in to see the car and see what they'd offer and what not. Then I met whom I assume was the sales manager. He was a stereotypical car salesman, tries to be relatable and blow smoke up your rear to make a sale. Again, whatever, im not surprised. Now for my biggest issue. I purchased an extended warranty via Sean in the finance department. I didn't really want it but Sean told me I should get it and I can cancel it within 3 months and get my money back, that way I can make sure the car is taken care of for the first couple months. I figured sure, plus I'll be nice and let him get his cut for upselling it or whatever. Well then I go to cancel it at 2 months and they want me to bring in the car for an odometer reading, that I've put maybe 500 miles on, and I live an hour away. I get ahold of Sean and he tells me to get a reading done at a Chevrolet dealer and send it to him, and that will suffice. Okay, so I get it done at Weber Chevrolet and send it to him. He says it's canceled, and I finally get him to send me proof of the cancellation form, because i had a feeling the situation wasn't done here. Mind you this whole cancellation process has taken literally 2 weeks of emailing back and forth, just to cancel a warranty. Primarily because communication sucks on the other end. Well when Sean told me it was canceled, he said it would come off of my loan in 6-8 weeks. Well surprise surprise, here we are at 11 weeks and my warranty still hasn't been canceled. On my paperwork the service contract says I'd receive a receipt of cancellation within 15 days of them being notified. So evidently the paperwork was never submitted. I emailed Sean again and its been over a week without a response. Also, every time i call and ask to speak to someone in finance, i get sent to voicemail. I do find this to be scummy business. Unfortunately I gave Clement Ford the opportunity to prove my initial suspicions wrong and they didnt even try. There are so many dealerships out there people, do yourself a favor and take your business somewhere else, somewhere that actually values you as a customer. After a new car purchase on April 24, our experience has been horrible. We purchased an extended warranty, not wise on our part, it was a new vehicle. A very suave and slick business manager, speaking very quickly ... after being there 4 hours, not good! We canceled 4 days later and we are now 5 months out and still chasing our refund of $3,615. Management at Clement Ford is awful, way too much dishonesty. They do not care for the customer after the sale. As I was sitting in the salesman's office and listening to the GM, I had a thought to just get up and walk away. They were the only one who had the color we wanted within a 4 hour drive ... we drove 90 miles to this dealer. Feb 28, we called from the dealer to get the payoff and create the purchase loan. I was given a 60 day temp tag so I had time to receive the title and i could go pay sales tax and get my license plates. 60 days later, my tags are now EXPIRED, I've never received a title, AND I now have a 60 day LATE PAYMENT on my lease because Clement didn't settle it WHILE I'm making payments on my truck loan! I've tried my salesman, who's no longer there, left messages for their Finance guy AND the General Manager, with NO RESPONSES! So I am driving illegally thanks to them, and my credit has been ruined because they couldn't handle the paperwork. BUY FROM LITERALLY ANY OTHER DEALER!! You've been warned! read more

Don't waste your time or your money. My husband was hit by a semi in late Sept. and we needed a truck fast because I was having a baby in mid Oct. We finally found one we liked and it was at Clement. Everything went smoothly with the sales associate but things took a turn when we decided we wanted to purchase the truck. The finance guy would not match the interest rate we brought him from our bank - first red flag. We proceeded with his interest rate because we needed a truck. The truck (the day after we first drove it) was having an issue with the front display - second red flag. We told them and they assured us they fixed the problem. We drove the truck home and the display was still glitchy. We called the service department 20+ times over the next few months, no answer - third red flag. We FINALLY got through to someone after I had the baby and scheduled service for January. They questioned my husband when he brought it in and wanted them to fix it for free. I wouldn't have had an issue paying except they sold it to us like this. They asked him why it took him so long to have it serviced and he said that he couldn't get through to the service dept. He was told it wasn't their problem that they were understaffed and couldn't answer. Mind you, we live an hour away so it wasn't like we could just pop in and schedule an appointment. For them to fix it, they made him pay the deductible from his warranty. Overall, red flags were everywhere. Do not go here for service. I brought my truck in for a grinding noise in the left front, they said they fixed it (cost me over $600) but had same grinding noise when I drove it home. Brought it back and they charged me over $900!! then I drove the truck home and had the Same grinding noise! Dave in service along with Jerry the service manager did not give me any refund and Jerry actually admitted fraud when he told me him and the shop Forman heard "no noise" as per my claim - but then decided to fix something unrelated and charged me over $900!! I tried to let them right their mistakes by refunding my money so I can take the truck to a mechanic that can actually fix the problem but everyone at Clement Ford refused! I spent $1500 to have the same grinding noise still in my truck! Do not ever bring you vehicle here for service. Terrible terrible experience read more

Have a purchase Agreement detailing all pricing and my down payment yet clement will not honor the certificate ID number the FORD Corp. gave them to take the additional $2500 off that the Ford Marketing dept has confirmed is sitting there waiting to be used. They are simply trying to sell the vehicle for more money to the next guy. Looks like the Hail storm that ruined all the vehicles put a damper on both of our plans. read more

Since Clement bought Marshal Ford, it has not been the same. I went in this morning (8/19/22) to ask about some corrosion on my '17 Explorer's hood, with my 2 very young daughters. After sitting in the waiting area for 20 mins, I was then instructed to reverse my car out of the service bay, go around the building to the back, where the body shop office is. They could have easily made the walk up to the service bay to talk to me, but apparently getting a smoke break was too important. Skip (introduced as the shop manager) tried to tell me that in order to repair the corrosion (about the size of a quarter), they would need to replace the hood, paint it, match it, then take apart the entire front end to replace the hood, costing at least $3k. They did not give me any other options. He then told me that I should wait 2 years, trade it in, and get a new car. Then he stated that I would "likely get into an accident before then", which insurance would then cover the repair. I'm pretty familiar with cars, and the shock of this man trying to take advantage of me was ridiculous. I got in my car and left. My husband stopped in after work to ask about it. They then claimed that our car was not a Ford Certified Pre-Owned, like it was when we bought it before Clement took over. My husband asked a service tech (not Skip) if replacing the hood required removing the entire front end, and he said no that is absurd. Before this, I took my car in for an oil change. They said there were a few recalls that they would take care of too. When I went to pick up my car it was over $400. They told me that I would need to contact Ford directly to get my refund for the recalls, which is completely incorrect. I do not trust this dealership at all, especially if the customer bringing the car in is a woman/elderly/young/not familiar with cars. They will not take you seriously and take advantage of you for your money. read more

Bought an explorer November 2023. In January the touch screen radio started going out (freezing taking forever to load). Took it in to my local ford they did an update, still did not work.. whenever i took it back it was no longer covered under warranty. I then contacted Clemet ford where i purchased this vehicle was working with Sean S. in finance, he informed he would be in contact with the manager to see what they could do to help me and get my car in to fix this problem. My review is long overdue, but after seeing dozens of people in Lake St. Louis Neighbors group complaining about this dealership, I thought I should share my experience and hopefully save someone some headache... I own a 2021 Ford Escape. Suddenly my vehicle would not go into reverse.. after only a year of owning it I called Clement to schedule a service appt. They tell me the earliest they can get me in is about two months out. Um, guess I just won't park my car in the meantime... I call the Ford Customer Service and they call them and get me on their books about 2 weeks out (beats 2 months). I take my car to my appt on my appt date. I drop it off with my service advisor, Jim. He says he'll call me when they're done checking it out. 7.5 hours pass and I know Jim is about to be off so I call to see if I can get an update. Jim is a complete a**hole and says "oh, it needs a part replaced. they ordered it but it won't be here for about two weeks. do you want to leave your car here or come pick it up?" I said.. "well I have an extended warranty and I purchased the plan that comes with a rental car if something that's covered by the warranty goes out.. so how do I pick that up?" Jim says "I don't see a warranty on your plan" Me: "really? cause I have brought it there for work that the warranty covered, why would it disappear now?" Jim: *fake types for two seconds* "nope, nothing on our records" So I call Sunset Ford where I purchased the vehicle and they said "you absolutely have that warranty and it covers a rental vehicle. We will send the paperwork to them now" I call Jim back and he says "oh yeah, you have it.. but that's only if the work being done is covered under warranty. this may not be" I was like "excuse me?! you're telling me my reverse went out and that's not covered under warranty?" Jim says "I don't know if it will be. so do you want to come get your car?!" I hang up and call Ford Support and they tell me it will be so I should get a rental vehicle. I call Jim back and inform him of this and he says "well, I'll see if I can get you one tomorrow. there aren't any available now" (he was really just ready to leave so he didn't want to do any extra work) I'm furious but inform him I will be there soon. I get there and Jim is gone so a service advisor named Clayton helped me. He was incredibly kind and helpful. I tell him what Jim had told me and he basically says that's completely false and that it'll be covered under warranty. I thank him and tell him I'll be calling Jim tomorrow to get my rental car. As I'm about to leave, Clayton chases me out the door and says "I just can't let you drive home in that car. If your reverse is already out, that means other gears could go out at any point, that's not safe" So Clayton calls and puts me in a rental car (surprise, they were available!) Anyway, long story short... they suck. Jim, the service advisor, is horrible. He treated us like absolute S**t. I will never take my car there for work again and will NEVER purchase a car from them. read more
