Went there for a braid and they only braided 2/3 of my hair. Had my hair all sticking up like if I had my braids in for a week or two. And charged $220 for the braid. I love Clementine because it is super close to downtown Norman, has easy parking, is clean, and is the friendliest salon I've been in for a very long time. Today I had a wash and style with Hailey, whom I've seen before, and who is an expert on listening to the very particular way I like my hair done - And she executes it beautifully. Plus, she is fun to talk to. This is a high-quality salon - and, bonus, they use a citrus scented shampoo that matches the name of the salon, Clementine. How cool is that? I don't even know where to start. I was very excited to start my journey with darker hair after being blonde for over five years. I went to Shay and trusted her even after my friend having her hair messed up by her. She messed my hair up twice. The first bleaching a halo underneath, and blotched coloring. Second time, giving me permanent black hair, and uneven highlights. She released me as her client after all of this and insists on me going to someone else. Using the excuse of "making her uncomfortable." Was it me talking about Jesus that made you so uncomfortable? I just don't get it. Yet she's aloud to bad mouth everyone in the salon, and relatives to me during my service. The owner/manager at the Norman location will not contact me back. I went to Clementine last week for a hair cut with Taryn and I cannot say enough great things about my experience! It's taken me that long to stop staring at my hair cut, obsessed, to find time to write this review. Taryn was extremely knowledge, personable, and nailed EXACTLY what I was looking for! I went in hoping to even out some rough highlights I got done somewhere else and she more than delivered. To be honest, I didn't really know what I wanted when I went in but Taryn listened to all of my rambling and somehow translated it into the perfect hair cut and color. To start the guy that was supposed to cut my hair came out of the back room and then turned around and went back into the back. Then another person came out and said she going to be cutting my hair. She was very nice however haircut was not great. She was very nervous acting. I have short hair so unsure if she hadn't cut many short haircuts on women. Her scissors needed sharpened, every cut pulled my hair. Also the cut was not good (uneven, long pieces over one ear and all trimmed over the other). Also didn't have me look at the back. Never had to ask to see the back of a short haircut before. read more

I am absolutely devastated by my experience at this salon. I went in for lowlights on my naturally red hair and came out after 5 hours with streaked red/orange clown hair and a dark glaze to "fix" the color. I cried immediately when seeing the low light color that the stylist picked to match a photo. We then went through two rounds of glaze and now my hair is violet red with red/orange streaks. I specifically told her I did not want any purple tones in the glaze and she assured me it was just a little. After all that and NO apology from the stylist, they rang me up for $110. Pics to follow but tonight it's baking soda and lemon so I can go in public this month. I've never experienced anything like this. Update: the more I look the worse it gets. On a whim I decided to try this place out because it looked pretty respectable. Unfortunately, I had an absolutely horrible experience with Clementine. I got the worst haircut of my life here: the cut was uneven, the layering was sloppy, and the coloring was splotchy. I would not recommend this salon. read more

I have been going to Tara to get my hair cut, styled, etc., for about 5 years now. I have followed her wherever she goes salon wise. I can tell you that this is by far my favorite salon she has worked with! It's always clean and the people are always friendly! I took my son there for his first professional haircut and Tara did an amazing job! I had an appointment with TARA for a hair color and her assistant pretty much did everything. I paid over $ 100 dollars for some one who is not a professional to color, wash and style my hair. The color I have is just basically on my roots. when it should go further down Like the picture I showed the stylist. I was supposed to get balayage but it doesn't look like it. they said to come in in like six weeks to get it darker but it is such a poor job i don't want to. read more

So my first experience at this salon was decent. It took awhile but that was expected being a new client. I made an appointment to follow up in 8 weeks. My second appointment was terrible. This is how my hair turned out. I paid an extra $25 ($177 total) for this result. When I sent pictures, she told me that when clients come after the first session, they don't want the middle of their hair done; but they get it all done during the 3rd session. So skip the middle every other appointment. Clearly the middle was done. Just half way though. She also stated that we did less highlights this time, but yet I paid more. She did offer to fix my hair, but I am so unhappy with this experience and I do not want to make it worse. My hair is also extremely hard to brush and breaks off or falls out when wet. This has NEVER happened before. My hairs not overly processed. I have a lot of virgin hair still so I'm not sure why this is happening. I work with my hair up every single day so it's embarrassing seeing the uneven splotchy color. I'll be spending another $130 to get the problem fixed. Thanks for the headache read more

After looking around at different salons on here, isettled on Clementine Hair Lounge because the venue looked welcoming and the website was informative and attractive. The website is very easy to use, and you can make appointments on it. There are bios for all of the stylists and they include their instagrams so you can look ahead of time to see what their work looks like. The venue is clean and nicely decorated, and reception was great and responsive. It's surprising that they've only been open since July because the place already looks so warm and welcoming. I got my hair styled by Tara, which I 100% recommend. I got a dark purple hair color and she was knowledgeable, confident and helpful. I didn't have a clear idea of what I wanted but her vision gave me a perfect hair color. She was friendly and I will definitely be returning. Hailey washed and blow dried my hair and I also appreciate her. My hair is soft and perfectly colored, the experience was great and I highly recommend. read more

I've only gone here a few times and Ashley is always so rude when I go in. Was told to not use a picture because "we can't see all the sides and you won't get what you want" but then the next visit I'm told to "maybe have a picture ready so we know what you want". She never listens and does the complete opposite of what I ask. And when I tell her "no, I don't like it" she gets offended. so then of course the cut takes longer and she gets cold towards me halfway through it. read more

Had the most average manicure done here and it took her over 2 hours to remove my dip and re dip my nails. At any other place this would take maybe an hour tops. She didn't even trim my cuticles or use lotion and the dip has a bumpy texture and does not look good. They also have hardly any color options for dip. When she was finally finished they tried to charge me $75 and I was shocked because the time I had been before to have the exact same thing a month prior it was $45. I explained this and she told me it was actually $67..Still way too much for what I had done but I just wanted to get out of there. Also checked their website and the prices did not match at all. This was my first experience at Clementine. Claudia seriously did amazing! She listened to what I wanted and made it happened. I don't easily trust people with my hair, and she made me feel very comfortable throughout the process. So this was a really great experience and I am SO happy with how my hair turned out! I was really impressed with their safety measures as well. The entire place was very clean (also, it's super cute!) and I noticed all staff disinfecting and adhering to safety guidelines thoroughly while I was there. I walked in @ 2 pm on Wednesday the young boy at the desk was so confused on how to answer the phone and get me a appointment at the same time, then he told me 2:30 I said great ok he said wait outside, 2:10 I get a call she is ready for you, I had already left to do a short errand, so I went back and the stylist asked how I wanted it cut , she said ok . Halfway thru the cut she says idk how to cut my left side because it has a cowlick, this was my first clue I was in trouble, ended up looking like bozo the clown with one side laying down and the other side all jacked up, had interview the next day and my hair looked awful, Then they had the nerve to charge me 36.00 for a men's hair cut, I have never ever paid more than 25.00 at very nice salons with very experienced stylists. The young boy told me thier rates are based on the stylist rating, I'm here to say with that in mind they should take a look at my hair, now I have to go get it fixed for another 25.00. i've come back to this place twice to try and let them redeem themselves, and I've been disappointing both times. The first time I made an appointment with a specific girl because I knew she could do what I wanted, and when I got there they told me I would see somebody else. Not the biggest deal, I understand that things come up, but I was just more annoyed that I was notified when I got there. The second time I got there, I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment, and waited for about 35 minutes, but I don't blame this on the stylist, it only takes one person earlier in the day to be late to their appointment for this to happen. I saw two different stylus on this occasions, and both acted the exact same (started cutting my hair how they wanted to, ignoring my preferences). I've never had an attitude problem with the staff, so I feel like I give them some credit for at least being nice. I've now paid $90 for two cut and styles, and it looks like something I could've done at home (I've never cut hair in my life). My layers are choppy and uneven, and create a shelf across my head. Really fun atmosphere, the basics are just not there. read more
