Looking for a trendy look but don't want to pay full-price for nice finds like J. Crew or Betsey Johnson, look no further than this hip botique in Carytown. Catering those with budgets in mind, they consign cute, barely worn clothing for the 20's-30's age range. Since expanding their shop, there is more space for goods. Beware that prices are still a bit hefty, but a lot less than buying it directly from the store at the mall. Accessories tend to be a bit cheaper - purchased my fave watch there for $20. Parking is on the street and this area of Carytown tends to be busy, so you may have to walk a bit. read more

Located in the heart of Richmond's Carytown neighborhood, Clementine always tempts me with cute, hip window displays, so I often pop in just to see if there's any outfit I might "need." It's a tiny consignment store/boutique with several overstuffed racks of only the hippest, gently-loved clothing. I always shuffle through the racks of clothing, however, to find myself feeling rather underwhelmed. My friend once got a great deal on an adorable Lily Pulitzer dress, and I've found some cute separates, but the offerings are limited - perhaps by the small space. Not really sure. But I still like to stop in if I pass it by during a weekend Carytown visit. As far as service goes - nothing exciting. Moderate at best. The store can get crowded on busy weekends. Clothes prices seem to vary - some pieces seem fairly priced and others come across as more expensive than appropriate for the quality. read more

Cute little shop in Carytown with a boutique-y feel that is right up the alley of those in search of trendy finds. Not everything is dirt cheap, but the prices are generally lower than what I can recall from visiting years before (I understand the establishment is being run by new management). This isn't the place to visit if searching for business attire, as I happened to be on this particular day. I have only consigned with Clementine and my experience was great. They allow you to bring in items for consignment on Tuesday and Sunday and you receive 50% of what they sell. I brought in 6 items, 5 of which were accepted for consignment (one of the items was a bright royal blue J.Crew cross body which was not an in-season color at the time). To my surprise, in 2 months all my items had sold and I received $91! Had I taken this to Plato's closet or submitted to thredUP I'm sure they would have awarded me with much less. I took some time to browse their selection and found that the prices were a bit higher than what I was expecting but I think I would be willing to purchase something if I liked it enough. read more

Great selection of clothes at a great price. My only problem with them is that it seems they take on too much consignment than they can handle. I dropped off some clothes about a month ago and recently called to see if anything had sold yet. I was informed that they hadn't even been put out onto the floor yet.... This review's for shopping at Clementine. I wandered into the shop a couple of weeks ago when I saw a $10 belt on the window mannequin. I went in thinking I was only going to get the belt since I actually needed one and the one I saw was pretty inexpensive. In the store, however, I started looking around and saw quite a few cute items that I really liked. The place was indeed small, with little room to fit more than ten customer at one time. There's only one fitting room next to the register (a little desk at the back of the store). I found a little cute Ann Taylor Loft floral print cotton shirt for $15 and jumped at it. A $68 (?) white Shiraleah handbag also grabbed my attention and eventually found its way into my shopping basket. There were several other bags, shoes, shirts, dresses, and jewelry items that were lovely, but I didn't want to buy too many since I was only in the area temporarily. Overall, it's a very likable small boutique that carries refreshing contemporary fashion items for women. The only thing is you don't get an itemized receipt, and you have to spend a certain amount of money in order to use your credit or debit card. read more

Very disappointed. I called to get an appointment last year to consign my clothes and they told me I would need to wait 3.5 months to consign for the NEXT season. (Obviously, I went elsewhere.) Much to my surprise, Clementine offered a DROP-IN day on Leap Day with no appointments necessary. I was thrilled. I donated 13 items including a pair of Seven Jeans, a suit from Ann Taylor Loft, and a J Crew strapless dress. After 6 weeks I called and Clementine had not put any of my clothes out in the store. Two weeks later, Clementine announced they were having a WAREHOUSE sale. The Warehouse sale entailed that every item would be priced between $5-$30 including my fabulous 13 items. I called today to find out 10/13 sold for less than $50. Therefore, my clothes valued $50-120 a piece sold for less than $10 a piece. NEVER CONSIGNING AGAIN - would rather donate to a worthy cause. I went to this store several times, Prices are ridiculous. All the items are used and prices for $30 to more than hundred dollars! Like pricing an old navy jacket for $15, which worth new $25 even with old navy coupons you could get it cheaper! target brands for $20 come on target run clearance every week and prices are %50 to %75 off most of the time. Very very frustrating to try and set up an appointment. I was told in August that they were not taking fall appointments until the first of September. I called at 11:30am September 1 and was told they were booked for October and the books were closed. I could continue to call back daily to see when the owners would open the books for November. Just wonder how the books filled for an entire month in one hour! Unfortunately, this is the 3rd time this has happened. Just need to take items elsewhere. read more

I've been meaning to write a review for Clementine for forever! I've always adored this store and it's even better now that they have expanded. They have the most amazing deals on designer brands! I think the most unique aspect of this store is it's not one of those consignment stores where everything is "nice" and a "good deal" but dated looking, out of season, or just blahhh.
