The 16 acres dedicated to youth soccer include two lighted stadium fields, restroom /concession / meeting building and parking. Other park facilities include two lighted outdoor basketball courts, two playgrounds areas, four lighted tennis courts, family and group pavilions, and an 18,000 sq. ft. Community Center with gymnasium, banquet kitchen, large meeting room with divider, 4 small meeting rooms, and two sets of restrooms (one with showers). I'm guessing it is open to the public because there is a parking lot next to it as well. Heads up, there is NO bathroom. They have a covered area with tables and two bathrooms. The door says you need a code to enter and use them. We actually saw several people walk to take their child potty, only to find out they are locked. The playground is really cute since it is shaded for the most part and there is sand instead of mulch. There is a fence around the back area since there is a little pond around the neighborhood.. there was a gator! Right in the middle island area... so just beware.

The Mikey Goodwin Playground is located in James A. Nance beach front park in Indialantic. In 2022…read morethe playground in Nance Park was redone to honor local teen Mikey Goodwin. Mikey was a talented athlete. One day he came home complaining about blurry vision. It turned out that he had a tumor on his brain stem. He passed away at the age of only 19 from a rare form o brain cancer called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Giloma. After his death his family wanted to give back to the community that supported them through Mikey's illness. They have undertaken several events to fun a cure. These include a 5K and and the Mikey Strong Golf Tournament. After the old playground was taken out, the new playground was installed. It was designed to be larger and ADA compliant and inclusive. Mikey loved the outdoors and always liked to include everyone. The playground is reflective of his generous spirit. To make the playground wheelchair accessible, synthetic turf was used on the ground. Other special features of the playground include communication birds for non-verbal kids and two levels of monkey bars, one at standard height and one lower. The playground equipment was chosen to encourage parallel play where kids of different abilities can play alongside each other. Funding for the playground was raised by volunteers who solicited donations. As someone who works with children with special needs I love the idea of this play space and how it honors a special teen who meant so much to this community.

I only wish there was one like this closer to me. Plenty to do for young ones and their siblings.

I have lived here many years and driven by this location and never knew it was there. Parking is convenient with a small parking lot right off the road and next to a fenced-in playground. It has a mix of amenities ideal for various activities such as leisurely walks, photography, meditation, or play. Spacious dog park and very convenient if you are driving on I-95…read more There are two gated areas: one for small dogs and one for large. If there aren't other people using it, you can just take your dog to whichever is available. You have to walk through two gates to get inside, so it helps prevent any escapes. There is a water fountain with a draining bowl for dogs to use. There is a well stocked poop bag dispenser and lots of trash cans. There are two single user bathrooms and some water fountains for people. They are clean, but at least one of them had a leaky faucet and a rusted lock that was very high (not good for kids or ADA). The cons of the park itself are that there was an area near the drain that had a hole under the fence. Also, the agility equipment was not there when we visited, but someone had left some balls, ropes, and frisbees for dogs to play. My dogs enjoyed running around, stretching, sniffing, and meeting some other dogs.
