What a fantastic experience…read more I visited D'lor for my birthday after my partner gifted me a spa gift card. When I searched for spas and came across the great reviews for D'lor, I was set. Their prices, packages and great Yelp reviews were all selling points that solidified my plan to book with them, and I was not disappointed. I initially planned to book on the website as I never prefer phone calls if I can avoid them, lol. Unfortunately, the website did not show any availability for the day I was hoping to go, but I figured it was because of the short 1-day turnaround. In an unusual move, I called D'lor just to be sure they didn't have availability and lucky me - they actually did have a spot. YAY! Bridget at the front was so patient and helped accommodate me for the day/time and package that I was looking for. Upon arrival, it was easy to find a parking space and head right on in. I was greeted warmly and given a short form to complete before heading in. The salon was booked and busy, set in a separate portion of the business, it was so peaceful as ladies hustled in and out. Once I finished my form I was taken to the ladies dressing area and given a locker that included a robe and slides. The space was intimate, offering a private toilet, sauna, and more, all in one space. Once I got changed I went and took a seat in the sitting room. This space was sooo comfy, I almost hesitated a bit when my masseuse came and got me lol. I hate that I didn't catch either of my providers name because they were both amazing! I went with one of their February packages that included a 60min massage, 60 min facial and a steam bath. I forgot about the steam bath but, wow, my massage and facial were great. My massage was nice, not life-changing, but it was a good experience. That facial? Amazing. After switching my medication recently, my skin has been struggling and I really needed a good facial and extractions. Miss Ma'am got me right!! She got under my skin in the best way, she even snatched a random hair that was on my chin without me asking LOL. From calling in for my appointment, to my arrival, and exit - this was a fantastic experience! I will be running back to have another spa day at D'lor.

So, I was pleased to find a day spa that provides the services I want at a location that does not require an hour jaunt to the north side of town. I'm very happy to report that D'lor delivers. All the spa services you'd expect along with all the salon services you could ask for. My first visit was a gel pedi and a quick barber cut. I had the pedi first, and it was perfection. La took her time and provided an exacting, detailed pedi that was amazingly relaxing. The nail area is small and intimate--I really appreciated the low-key atmosphere. Next up was my hair cut--I keep my hair super short these days and usually have to have it done by a barber. Getting both a pedi and my cut at the same place is quite the treat! Faye took excellent care of me! I even added on a shampoo--yes, I know "why get a nearly bald head shampooed?" Well, if you've ever had an excellent shampoo no explanation is necessary! Moreover, I learned about some styling possibilities that I never considered and now I'm really looking forward to my next fancy cut and dye! Next time, it'll be a full on spa day--mani, pedi, cut, facial, and massage. And yessss, I WILL be having lunch across the street. I just had the best experience and I'm already planning my next--I'd say that's a good review

Towards the end of the year a friend and I usually get together for some sort of bonding outing and…read morethis year was her choice. I never thought someone would suggest a colonic for a girls outing, but since I've never had one before, I went in with no real expectations other than I was gonna have multiple bowel movements (BM) in the time I was there. From what I'd read online, having one colonic is the equivalent of having 3-5 BMs. One of the main reasons I decide to go was they take my insurance company's HSA/FSA card. When I asked how that was possible, Rachel, the owner, says that it is considered prep for a colonoscopy and is an approved treatment. So I signed up for the December special, which was the colonic and a foot detox, she agreed to allow me to use the infared sauna instead of the foot detox. When I walked in the mood music and aromatherapy oils in the air immediately soothe whatever jitters I had, and I don't know if its Rachel's normal, but she gave me a genuine hug, I don't know the last time I've had one, so I blurted out to her that I was nervous and being so, I'd had three BMs that day, so I wasn't sure if there was anything left. She assured me there was. There are some brief medical history forms to fill out, and after reading the fine print, I learned that in the State of GA it is not mandatory to be licensed/certified to provide colon hydrotherapy, so again RED FLAG for me, but since Id read on her website that she is certified, I stuck around for the appointment. By then my friend came out the colonic room smiling, but at this point, she had better been smiling or I'd run straight back out the door. I opted for doing the sauna before the colonic, but Im sure most people do the sauna afterwards, but since I had to wait for her to clean the colonic table and get my friend ready for the foot detox, I went ahead and got naked and got in the sauna, and I'm extremely glad I did. It was just what my post holiday (Dec 27) nerves needed. I was able to do some journal writing and the smell of lavender and the alkaline water did me good. When you do the colonic, she gives you an opportunity to stick the tube up your own rectum, which Im sure some people can do with no issue, but me being an anal virgin, after multiple attempts, I was unable to do it for myself, so she re-entered the room to help. She has a gentle touch and I felt very comfortable with her doing so. After she starts the machine, she leaves the room and then came back about ten minutes later and I admitted that I hadn't BM. She rubbed some type of oil on my stomach and began to massage my abdomen and let me tell you, I started going like I hadn't been in months. I asked her to leave the room again, because I didn't like the idea of BMing with someone standing there massaging my stomach, she giggle and said she understood and that everyone has different reactions, and that the procedure also helps to relive a lot of stress, worry and other emotions we carry in our guts. The colonic is 40 mins and afterwards I felt different, and could tell the difference in the bloatness of my stomach. I'd read online that people says they lost 2-3 lbs after one of these. I didn't weigh myself prior or afterwards, but again I could tell the difference in the size of my stomach. Afterwards, she told me about a special she is running and instead of it being $90 per treatment, it would be $45, so I signed up for two more within the next month. Im not sure if Im going to keep the appointments since I saw my primary care physician four days after the colonic and she says there is no medical reason a person should be taking these every two weeks and recommend that I get a colonoscopy instead of multiple colonics back to back, but if I wanted to go back, she'd recommend spacing them out to 1-2 per year. Overall it was a pleasant experience, I felt pretty good afterwards and slept so good that night, that I would recommend this location and the service to anyone considering it. Rachel is a genuine spirit and she's very calming. I like that she took some time to review the medical history I'd provided and made some recommendation on ways I can increase my iron levels without having to take iron pills or other medications. I strongly recommend her services and the location is in East Point which is easily accessible from almost anywhere in Metro Atlanta.
