So I set off whilst the April rain poured down, I loaded up the mower in my trunk, hoping that my trunk (and mower) would not get soaked. I arrived and lugged the very heavy mower out and into the shop. I talked with a nice guy that told me that mowers are made for bad weather so worrying about it getting wet was not necessary. Oh well, I learned something handy. What I did forget to do was close my trunk so after having a 5 minute convo with the guy, I came back to a soaking wet trunk. Good thing I had nothing else in the trunk. The only negative I can throw at this place is there is often a 1-2 week backlog for repairs. This time of year is just not the best time to have a mower go bad. That being said, the mower was finally repaired and was still under warranty so everything was free. I had them sharpen the blade too which was $12.

In my adult life I've had 3 different jobs in 3 very different industries. The mantra, "Under…read morepromise and over deliver" has been mentioned at all of these companies where I've worked. Although I don't work at Jericho Mowers, I can assure you they epitomize that phrase. After an unsuccessful attempt at getting my mower fixed at a different company, I called Jericho. The previous company said, "It's the carburetor--we don't work on those on a Briggs & Stratton." I called Jericho and they, in a very happy/glad/appreciative tone, said, "We do!" I told the gentlemen on the phone the issue, he gave me an rough idea on what it would cost, and said to drop it off. I brought it to them that afternoon and due to my wife working, had both of my girls with me (2 years old & 20 months.) My girls are pretty good, but I try to "contain" them as much as possible, so I brought along a stroller to toss my 20 month old in. Noticing me pushing a stroller, a mower, and trying to hold a 2 year old by the hand, an employee came out and said, "Let me help you out--just leave it here and I'll go get a clipboard." He was back immediately, got the pertinent information, and said, "We should be able to look at it by the weekend--probably ready early next week." (This was Tuesday for reference.) I told him, "Sounds good!" (It's for my rental house and my hands are tied with a few other projects so I couldn't work on it at all.) Anyways, he said it should come to about $150 and they'll give me a call when they can look at it. They call me on Thursday, confirm it's the carburetor and it'll come to the $146.52, and ask if they should go forward. I told them to go ahead and give me a call when it's ready. The same guy calls me back mere hours later and says it's ready to be picked-up...estimate/serviced before end of day Thursday--originally might not get to look at it until the weekend. That's GREAT service. I go to pick it up and I'm back again with my two girls. After I pay, they roll it to my car, patiently wait while connecting with both of my girls while I strap them in the car, and then help me lift it into my SUV. Oh, and not only is the carburetor fixed--they've cleaned the whole mower and it looks like it rolled out of the showroom! No cobwebs, no caked on grass--you know how used mowers look. "Under promise, over deliver." Quote the job by the weekend, finished by Thursday. Helping me while my hands are full. All service delivered by professional, patient, and courteous guys from the very first phone call until helping me load it, cleaned-and-fixed, into my car. I highly recommend them for all of your lawnmower needs.

One way to tell whether or not you've done business with a good company is how they treat you when things don't go swell; case in point: I recently rented a Vermeer Dingo and threw the tread while in my creek (my fault). They dispatched their onsite maintenance team to fork it out with a T590, and then left the T590 behind for me to use (about 3x capacity). Because of their promptness and courtesy, I was still able to place 76 yards of fill dirt and contour it before the (vestigial hurricane) torrential rains came this weekend. This was a big deal because that dirt was placed to stop my home from flooding due to the nearby creek.

Doing so I've experienced many break downs, accidental rental reservation headaches the day of pickup and the lack of care and service from other rentals. I was always caught wasting my time fixing other rentals equipment.....with complete disregard for safety and care. So many negative experiences lead me to now rent ONLY from Central Tool for ALL my rentals no matter the distance. Their equipment is always updated, clean, and fully operational as expected rental after rental. No BS, they are upfront with the costs and willing to do what they can to load, unload and most of all they take the time to build a relationship. Central Tool Rental should be rated teh best rental ever! if you don't think so you might be stupid or just a dumb individual that can't operate machinery bigger than a weed eater!
