My most recent visit was while shopping for my daughter's upcoming 3rd birthday. When I walked in, neither of the two employees in the store acknowledged me. After a while, I received a very cold greeting from one of them. During checkout, I commented that it was nice to see they carried adult clothing as well, and the owner responded with, "We always have," in a tone that came across as harsh and dismissive. On its own, this interaction might not have been a big deal, but it reflects a pattern I've experienced over the years. I've repeatedly found the atmosphere to be unfriendly, particularly in my interactions with the owner. As a parent who regularly shops for children's clothing and enjoys supporting local businesses, customer service matters. I want to spend my money where customers feel welcomed and appreciated. Because of the consistent lack of warmth and customer care I've experienced, I've decided to take my business elsewhere. KOBO Capitol Hill is tucked away at one end of Broadway on a cute little corner that's easy to miss if you're not looking. They have an AMAZING collection of local and international art, books, and other small finds that make it feel like a new experience every time you visit. They also have virtual art shows featuring new artists every month, offering them platform to show off new work in a time where it might not otherwise happen. Due to Covid, they've taken a lot of precautions for their customers and staff, which I really appreciate. Private shopping sessions can be booked online, and curbside pick up was a really smooth experience!

Susan has always had an individual point of view, which happens to correlate with mine. Her pieces are handpicked and this shop, in my opinion, is one of the very few (2) places in Seattle where you may find antiques and vintage items, not junk. Well curated, well stocked, and put together with a great eye, this is a nice buttoned up and traditional juxtaposition to the more modern, industrial, dust-bowl sideshow inspired Kirk Albert next door. What a fun place to walk around, browse and get inspired! In particular, they have great mirrors and unique ornate frames here, that are in really excellent condition. Practically all of the clothing is geared towards women. I saw plenty of cool stuff though. Steve saw a great leather jacket but it wasn't his size or cut. But despite all of that the inventory here is really great and some of the items are real gems. If you are into vintage clothing shops definitely swing by and take a peek.
