I told them that I wanted to be able to haul 5th wheel and gooseneck trailers with my RAM 3500 dually and they took it from there. They fully answered all of my questions and provided a very reasonable quote. I left my truck with them and shortly thereafter received a call that it was ready. Demco supplemental braking system. $4,000K (+towbar) Work was done without delay. System works as per factory specs. The work was mostly good but needs to be inspected more closely. I found the cable into the breakaway switch was sealed with and adhesive goop - and not very well done. I was a little surprised that they didn't cut the tail ends off the zip tie cables on the umbilical cord from the RV. They also did not cut the zip tie ends on wiring under the car. There was a rubbing noise from the front wheel when making a sharp turn. I took the car to the dealership and they found the sloppy work - and cut the zip tie cable ends off. Cliff's is expensive and provides quality products but the installation is lacking in workmanship. read more

VERY Dishonest Bait and Switch Company. I had a bent axle on my 22 Foot travel trailer that is covered by Dexter Warranty. Dexter agreed to send 2 complete axels including springs, everything from lug nuts on one side to lug nuts on the other side. I called several RV repair companies and was quoted between $500 to $600 from all of them including from Chris at Cliffs Welding. I also wanted them to install Dexter E-Z Flex kit at the same time. I decided to go with Cliff's. After I had the axles delivered to Cliff's Welding Chris went out and confirmed everything was there. He then called me and told me my total would be $881.81 I told him he already quoted me between $500. and $600. for the complete job. He said he made a mistake and the correct total was $881.81. I didn't agree then he said he wasn't going to argue with me and that's the cost. I can have it done or I can come pick up the axles and take them elsewhere. (one big pallet 336 pounds) I did pick them up and having it all installed for a lot less than $600.00 from another well-known RV/trailer repair company. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. It looked as if the pipes were well done, and we even passed 99% of the inspections. On one of the last walk throughs, the inspector noticed insufficient reinforcement, as well as a number of arc strikes. Whole project had to be redone, and these nimwits were MIA. Wouldn't answer a single one of our calls. Unbelievably feckless and ludicrous company you are. I had to have my RVs baggage door hinge rewelded... aluminum. Seems nobody in Mesa likes to weld aluminum and no one else warranties their work. The men at Cliffs said they would and the welds look great. The best part was the price. My only negative was that they are so good, they had promised 3 weeks out however, pandemic pandemonium 2020 and 6 1/2 weeks later and only a few times nagging on my part and I got it back. The guys there are personable and swamped. They could have been price gouges knowing they have proof of skill and delays I'm sure in a normal situation wouldn't happen like mine. Since moving to the Valley in 2008, we have given tens of thousands of dollars to Cliff's Welding, always working with Jake, Jr. We have owned 2 RV's that we 45' long, a 3rd coach that was slightly smaller and an airstream. Cliff's has worked on ALL of them. On Monday we decided to purchase another RV. We need to get back east quickly due to medical issues and our salesman at Lazydays RV, said that if we brought our truck to them by 7:30am, they would get the work accomplished by Friday. We did exactly as we were instructed, then 3 hours later, we were told that they would NOT be able to accommodate our needs. The Manager apparently could give 2 shots about customer dedication, so they will NEVER get our business again. Now at the last minute, we have to scramble to find someplace to take care of our coach. This is ridiculous! read more

We recently had Cliff's Welding recommend and install a complete tow and brake package for our tow car and motorhome. As we were completely new at such a purchase the staff and especially Jake, the general manager, were most helpful in explaining our options and how everything goes together to make a successful, easy to use system. After the install Jake spent close to an hour showing my wife and me how to set up and unhook the tow car from the motorhome. DISHONEST. They pad their shop hours (96.00@) by 50%. Did not finish the job correctly. The steel was rusted and they were going to put a finish coat on top of it. That's just wrong. I had to prep, sand, prime and paint the pieces in the parking lot in the rain. The owner says "this isn't a paint shop". Really! How about doing the 'whole' job correctly. Stay away. I purchased a RoadMaster upgraded steering stabilizer kit for my RV off the internet ( after seeing it at Cliff's, because of the price honestly ) and thought I could install it myself. I did install the front arm, with a lot of effort, as these arms are huge & weigh a bunch. But the rear, was way out of my physical capacity, so I called Cliff's and Grant at the front desk happily offered to install it, even though I purchased else where, which is kinda rare. This is the important part of the story, my RR kit was an " auxiliary " stabilizer arm, meaning the factory arm is not removed, but works in conjunction with the OEM arm, I would have 2 RR stab. bars. Well. I get a call from Grant stating I got the wrong kit, wont fit....So I show up & Cliff's, Grant explains what his tech told him, Im really bummed, I also have a bill for the time it took to discover stab. did't fit, plus they welded up a broken exhaust hanger..Im feeling not so good, I open the door to my RV and inside is the new stabilizer are AND my OEM one too !! WTH ! they couldn't reinstall the OEM stab.? Im irritated... Grant tells me they will make it right and that I was missing some main components to my kit, which I did indeed forget & come back next week, which I did.. I cleaned up my OEM stab. arm & added upgraded bushings and all the components from the RoadMaster kit, including the pieces I forgot the first time. To be fair to Cliff's , because I forgot 4 pieces to the kit, it appeared, perhaps, to be just a upgraded stab. arm and NOT the auxiliary kit that it was, which is maybe why the tech removed the OEM arm and the new arm did not fit because it mounts in front of the differential, using the 4 pieces I forgot the 1st time....long story short, everything was installed correctly and works Amazing !! and what Grant said to me... I Made an appointment about a week in advance to have custom exhaust work done on my trailer's new generator. I got it out of storage, brought it there, and they said, yeah. we can do that, come back in a week... Uhh... You said on the phone that you could do it the day I brought it in. OK, fine, I understand, you really needed to look at it first. Brought it back next friday, and the job was done in a few days... But wrong. Apparently, the guy I talked to didn't give the drawing to the guy doing the work. So I left it and they kept it another week and didn't re-do it by the day they promised. I left it over the weekend, and they completed the work on the following monday. The end result is the project is nearly perfect. The guy followed the drawing and got it done to my expectations. They do very nice work, Labor rate is fair, and parts prices are fair considering this is basically a custom RV Hitch shop but does a lot more. They have a can-do attitude, and it is my impression that they can deliver what they promise... They have a large fenced secure yard, so you can rest assured that your rig will be kept safe. They didn't charge me the extra hours for the re-work, they freely admitted they screwed up. Admirable in this day. I will probably use them again, but I will make sure I talk to the guy that will actually do the work, he gets the drawing from me directly, and understands fully the scope of work. My feedback to Cliffs Welding: You guys need to learn to communicate better, both internally and to your customers. Don't bicker in front of the customers, and call the customers when they need to be called. Nobody ever called me both times it was done, nor did anyone call me when it was delayed. The work you do is specialized and difficult and you do a good job, don't kill your business by missing the easy things. read more

We had to access Cliff's two different times while in Mesa with our trailer. First, we had to replace an add-on tow mirror that "flew off" while approaching Mesa. They had what we needed, their price was better than anyone else's, and they quickly put it on for us. Second, we needed advice on our trailer-car hitch set-up and found out from Equalizer Hitch that Cliff's was the preferred dealer in Mesa. They realized we were "on the road" and needed to leave town that day. They made time for us in their already booked schedule. They took us right in when we arrived, reviewed the situation, provided us an assessment of options, checked our tire pressure on the trailer, and never charged us because they did not have a solution for us! My second visit there was a bit of a emergency, I punched a hole in the radiator of my dirt bike a day before leaving for a trip. A year ago I had Cliff's Welding install a B&W slide hitch in the bed of my truck. Cliff's Welding purchased the hitch and had their service dept. install it. This past summer my wife and I went on a 14,000 mile cross country trip. While in up state N.Y. on our way back to AZ I stopped to talk with an other camper. While standing at my tail gate the guy looks in my bed, then looks at me and says "I'm a mechanic! do you know your hitch is installed backwards" I was in total shock!! We both climbed into the bed and he proceeded to show me why. 1st the lever to slde the hitch into back position was on the passenger side, where it should be on driver side. The wide metal plate on hitch is suppose to be facing the cab of the truck, not the tail gate. This proved to me why I had no turning radius at all. I put the cap of the 5th wheel through the back window of my truck and also hit the passenger corner of roof denting the truck. to date I have 1 ,000.00 in damages just to the truck. Never got a price on the cap of 5th wheel. I immediately called Cliff's and spoke with manager. He was extremely rude on the phone and kept blaming the problem on B&W. He refused to be professional and accept responsibility, when Cliff's is the one that purchased the hitch and installed it. Had absolutely nothing to do with B&W. Cliff's welding put my families life in danger the entire time we were pulling the 5th. We had to pull with the slide in the back position the entire time to slightly improve turning radius. The manufacturer states in writing as a warning that that position is not allowed for driving. Cliff's never offered a remedy or a return phone call. I thought of legal action but that would cost thousands and drag on forever. Thank you Cliff's Welding for the stress you caused my family. read more

I just had some work done on my 5th wheel trailer. I had to have the rear power stabilizers replaced due to damage. I tried a RV Sales & Service place nearby but they were too busy so since I had used Cliff's Welding before I figure why not. Well they got me in within a couple days, took a couple days to order and receive the parts and the work was completed very fast. I checked out my new rear stabilizer and I am very happy with their professional work, friendliness and cost. I will continue to go back for my RV repairs if it's in their scope to do. Cliff's Welding came highly recommended by the people at both Roadmaster & SMI factories as one of the top installers in Arizona to install their systems on my car. Cliff's also came highly recommended by follow RV owners as the best & only place to have my tow bar base plates & my SMI Air Force One braking system installed in my car to be flat towed behind a motor-home. I called Cliff's & spoke with Scott (the owner). I was given prices to the penny right over the phone. The quote was then emailed to me the same day. The price I was given for the parts parts was very fair & the labor was one of the lowest (probably because they know what they are doing & don't pad in extra time). I set up an appointment for the following week. We dropped our car off the night before & it was secured after hours in a well fenced lot .The showroom & waiting area is spotless & I was surprised how clean & organized the back shop is. I am just leaving cliff's and stopped by to look at adjustable trailer balls and hitches. There was one other customer in the store and he was waiting on his vehicle to be worked on. 4 employees at the counter and never once did anyone ask if I needed help or had questions. The display I was looking at was right at the counter and the employees were too busy on their phones or Facebook on their phones to ask if I needed help. None of the items had prices on them and at no time did anyone offer to help. I literally waited 10 minutes to see if anyone would offer to help. No one ever did. They were too busy discussing lunch. I'll spend my money elsewhere. People wonder why they lose business to companies like Amazon and this is a perfect example. I try to keep my money local whenever possible, but if the store can't even make the slightest effort, It's not worth it to me. I will never go back. It's too bad I can't leave zero stars. read more
