Unacceptable. Dangerous. Complete Lack of Responsibility…read more At my toddler's ballet class, the instructor removed my daughter from class to use the restroom and HANDED HER OVER to a random adult I do NOT know - someone who does NOT work for the studio. I was sitting just outside the waiting room door the entire time. Instead of taking a few seconds to find me, the instructor allowed a stranger to take my child into a bathroom stall and begin undressing her. Let that sink in. When I confronted the instructor, her response was shocking: "I don't have time to look for parents." Excuse me? Your convenience does NOT come before my child's safety. This is not a minor issue, it's a major breach of trust and judgment. Handing a child to someone the parent has not approved to take them into a private space is completely unacceptable and potentially dangerous. I don't care if the person was "nice" or "helpful" you never, EVER do this. I stay for every class. The instructor knows that. In today's world, how can anyone think this is okay? What happened tonight could have ended very differently and that is terrifying. Parents, beware. If you value your child's safety, think twice before trusting this studio.

I can't believe I finally found a dance studio that has it all. Excellent training, the kindest…read moresweetest girls, and parents who steer clear of drama. Thank you Southland!

So whenever they practice for the recital my daughter was made to feel very left out. The instructor told my daughter that she can do stretches or do whatever she wanted or join the dance. Fact that the instructor pointed that out made my daughter felt like she didn't belong. Paying for the recital or not, every tuition paying dancer should be part of the routine. They have my credit card in their system and charge automatically every month which in the beginning we appreciated because we didn't have to remember to pay or wait for a bill and all that hassle. However, this academy not once sent out updates or announcements of any kind. I checked my spam/junk mail as well as regular mail. They say they do send email but we never got it. Suddenly tuition increased by $30 this month. Also we just found out there is an annual registration fee although there was no additional need for any type of "re-registration." They just simply charge it every July. The reason it's not a 1 star is because after the issue arises they refunded this month tuition smoothly as we decided to pull my daughter from this academy. And while there my daughter didn't mention other issues aside from feeling excluded from the Moana dance. We got quoted with another academy close by for our daughter where tuition is a lot more reasonable and she will be starting there soon.

The Huntington Beach Academy for the Arts put on such a great show! The orchestra was amazing, the student actors were amazing, the soloists were amazing, and the chorus was amazing. The Huntington Beach High School theatre, built in 1928 is an amazing and historic venue. It was truly magical Saturday night. The parking was easy and free. The volunteer staff were friendly and accommodating. There were snacks at intermission. The only thing missing was my customary glass of champagne at intermission. It is a High School!

We had the pleasure of working with Thomas for most of our sessions, and had a few classes with Nick as well, and they are both excellent instructors! Everyone loved our dance on our wedding day, but more than that, it was just so fun to practice our First Dance with the crew at Bella Ballroom leading up to the wedding! Hector and I have zero experience when it comes to dancing, but even from our first meeting, Thomas made us feel so comfortable, and made everything so fun! He broke things down in a way that felt manageable for us as beginners, but also challenged us to keep growing, and was always so encouraging and supportive! Nick was also a great teacher, and had so many fun jokes! They both worked with us to choreograph a First Dance that felt right for my Husband and I, and we absolutely LOVED the way it turned out. We even got to spend a few of our sessions working a little on some moves for my Father-Daughter dance, and even learned a little Salsa just for fun! Thomas also did a great job of getting us in the right mindset for our First Dance. I tend to be more shy, and hate performing in front of people, but by the day of our Wedding, I felt ready and confident to do our First Dance in front of all our guests, and everyone loved it!! Our guests were really surprised by some of the cool leans, dips, and the lift in the middle of our song! Hector and I have no regrets - we are SO happy we decided to do dance lessons at Bella Ballroom, and I cannot recommend them enough! They are all so friendly, professional, and encouraging, and our results were absolutely top notch! And honestly, it was just so fun to dance every week amidst all the stress of wedding planning... I'd recommend dance lessons for that reason alone! Seriously, make an appointment with Bella Ballroom and start dancing the way to your wedding!!!

From our very first lesson, she made us feel comfortable, confident, and excited to learn. We love to dance, but let's just say... natural talent wasn't exactly on our side. Somehow, Mallory turned two people with enthusiasm but questionable coordination into a couple who had guests talking about our first dance all night. She is incredibly talented, endlessly patient, and somehow managed to put up with all of our shenanigans every single week. She laughed with us (and occasionally at us), kept every lesson fun, and never made us feel discouraged. Thank you for giving us more than just choreography, you gave us one of our favorite memories from our wedding. We genuinely looked forward to every lesson. She is beauty. She is grace. She is MALLORY.

As a mom, I appreciate this studio because the studio follows the Cechetti method and focuses on performances instead of competitions. The end of the year performances, as well as the performing group shows, are very high quality. As with all things though, the studio, the kids and the parents are not perfect. Each situation is so different. However, as you can see by Miss Kimberly's responses to the reviews, she is very professional and cares deeply about the studio and especially the kids. He wasn't never left alone (especially with new people : strangers before but we left him there as we were told to wait outside) minutes later, we were told to come in and received a big hug. When he recognized a song, he went back to the dance floor and danced around the kids. The instructor didn't like that and at one point even said he was distracting the other kids (as he wasn't on his colored marked circle space) For a child in the spectrum, this is hard to do. They proceeded with the program NOT including him. I felt so bad for our son that i had tears in my eyes even now as Im typing this. Every child deserves to be seen heard and they WANT to be included. They just beed more TIME AND PATIENCE than neurotypical kids.
