Ok, so my 22 year old AC died on a 94 degree June day... and the inside of my house was hotter than a bonfire in a desert in hell, and it was time to get it replaced! I got my bids and quickly landed on Climate Masters. Pick the contractor you like first. They are the ones that matter the most! The quality of install matters most. Equipment is secondary. How it is put together matters, and quality installs are the biggest piece of the puzzle. A Carrier installed by a garage mechanic will not perform as well as one installed by a team of experts who have been certified in the equipment and have decades of experience in installations. Climate Masters are experts. Get multiple bids. If a bid is high, seems weird, or are not comparing apples to apples, ask why! Maybe the contractor noticed something the others didn't, like Richard catching duct sizing issues and lack of mastic sealant. Climate Masters saw the details. When selecting equipment, be sure you have a manual J load calc done, to ensure proper sizing. If you had a 4 ton, you may not need a 4 ton, and 4 tons cost more to install and run that 3 ton. The J load ensures proper sizing. Ask to see the calc. Climate Masters calc was spot on. Trust your instincts on people. A salesman's job is to sell his wares, but an AC contractor is someone you will be working with for a long while, you want someone you can trust to deliver on promises. Of all the people I spoke with, Richard is the one that made us feel at ease. He gained our trust, and therefore, our business. Climate Masters does what they promise. Expect a clearly defined quote. If they didn't mention ductwork, don't be surprised when your ductwork costs extra or fails after. If they didn't mention seer or horsepower or new supply lines, don't expect them. If you want something in the quote, they should be willing to state it clearly in the quote. If not, run away! Climate Masters detailed the quote, and followed thru. On January 5th, 2019 I had Climate Masters do a complete change-out of my heat pump system. From the very beginning to the completion of the work, I was very pleased with the process. Richard was next door at my neighbor's giving an estimate, and I asked him to look at my system when he was finished there. He came over, thoroughly inspected my system, and gave me the information necessary for me to make an informed decision. My existing system was seventeen years old and I had his technicians over a couple of time in the past, so I knew that they were very professional and honest. Richard sat at my kitchen table and wrote out a quote with several options and prices and a detailed description of all the things they would do to make my home more comfortable and energy efficient. In October 2016, I had Climate Masters install two 3 ton A/C Units as replacement for my existing system. They provided me with not only an outstanding product (Carrier), but also outstanding and professional Service and Installation. I am very pleased with the job and the follow-up I have received from Keith at Climate Masters. I got home and the upstairs A/C was blowing hot air and the fan outside was not on. I called Climate Masters because I had heard great things about them AND because they are a locally owned and operated company. The technician was able to get to my house within a few hours and make the repairs. The technician was very professional and educated me on what had happened, how to prevent it, and other HVAC owner tips. I cannot recommend this company enough. The next day I called and got signed up on their annual service plan. The technician that showed up for that initial service mirrored the professionalism and courtesy as the first technician that showed up for the initial repair call. We have used Climate Masters exclusively for over 20 years, both for our homes and for rental properties. We could not be more pleased with their response times and prices. The Climate Masters annual service agreement we purchase gives us 2 semi-annual visits in which they do equipment maintenance and inspections for a much better price than we'd pay for it on demand. It also provides us 1) a discount for repair parts, 2) timely emergency service if we have a problem outside of normal business hours, including weekends and holidays, and 3) no additional charges for emergency services. We have had Climate Masters of Spanish Fort out to the house on several occasions and have always been very happy with their work and attitude. A few days ago we called because our AC wasn't putting out cold air...Jesse came and gave us the bad news...it was dead. He went over several different options and we decided to replace both inside and outside units. The crew came yesterday and diligently covered the floors where they would be working. They worked hard all day with a smile and great attitude and got the job done in the 100 degree heat that is lower AL in August. They checked it out and we decided to replace our unit with a more efficient Carrier. They were back the next day and install went very well.
