Super friendly and small place with some fun climbs and decent prices in a great location. I liked seeing the Groupon offers and weekly discounts. Us four guys tried it for the first time a while back and enjoyed the casual atmosphere, easy access to all the amateur and more advanced in one room, and had some good challenges with other regulars. I was surprised a lot of the vertical cliffs seem to be a bit random and without any serious attention to a real path one might get to on a real mountain. I would like to see that and be able to feel I am going up a real life peak at some point rather than someone's own creative setup. read more

Climb Lafayette is a very fun and athletic experience. The lobby is very well kept and has an assortment of climbing gear (chalk, harnesses, etc.). The staff are very helpful and professional. The price is suitable for the equipment rented and the climbing walls. The orientation helps give knowledge about the basics of the harnesses etc. They also offer a class for the belay walls. The walls are periodically changed, making it a great place to come back and visit. I got a very good workout from being here. Both experiences were great. The walls are well kept and vary in level of difficulty. This establishment is great! I suggest anyone who wants an athletic enjoyable experience to come here. 5/5 stars. read more

Such a fun experience! We took my 6 year old nephew, and he had an absolute blast. I was surprised by what all he was allowed to do. The staff is super informative and nice. We felt super welcome and safe during our time here. Definitely will be back!! read more

I frequently drive to Milwaukee Wi to meet a group of friends at our favorite climbing gym. We tend to make a day of climbing and visiting with one another. It was with great delight, and some hesitation that I heard Lafayette was getting it's own climbing gym! I was really excited to have one so near me, but worried, because the one we go to in MKE is just amazing. I love the people, the walls, etc up there. Finally got the opportunity to go about 4 weeks after Climb Lafayette opened, and was thrilled to really enjoy the place. It isn't very large, but there weren't many people there, so that wasn't an issue. The GriGri device was new, and really exciting for me. I don't go often enough to have gotten belay certified, due to the knot tying (I'm a knot goober!) but the GriGri meant that my friend and I got to actually top rope! There are only two auto-belays, which I could see being an issue if you were going climbing alone, but it looks like they have room, and probably the goal, of growing larger. The bouldering area blows away my favorite climbing gym, so Kudos for that! I found the pricing reasonable, and the staff fairly knowledgeable. You can tell they are 'new', but I suspect a good 'climbing atmosphere' will grow here rapidly. read more

This is such a fun place! I'm a total beginner, but I came here with my friends and had such a good time. The people there are so helpful and friendly. There's also a small gym inside with cardio equipment, and yoga classes 2x/week. You can rent climbing shoes if you do not own them, and the harnesses are included with your pass price. I've considered signing up for the monthly membership, but going there 4x every month to make up for the cost is a bit difficult for my schedule, so I'll need to think about it. It would be really nice to see something like a prepaid punch pass. Either way, I will be back again! read more

Friendly staff and climbers, plenty of well planned routes to challenge all skill levels. Steep routes and a legitimate 16' slab wall. It looks like routes are changed out on a regular basis to keep things interesting. I will definitely stop here each time I visit from California. read more

Staff (hosts, in particular) couldn't have been much more deplorable to us about it. We understand the policy, but there's a common decency to enforcing it in one's volunteer role (wearing a DNR hat). We're not loud. We respect other people, nature, and the place. Yet, there's 40' pushers with a jeep and 2 motorcycles who apparently don't have to abide by the same rules. When our guests did leave, the hosts thanked them for leaving loudly as they drove by. The campground was more than half empty, mind you. Sadly, we will think twice about returning if there are other options. If management values people coming here to camp on their vacation time, a close inspection of customer service might be a great way to approach that goal.

This was extremely disappointing and it certainly isn't worth the entry free to just see the three mock Indiana buildings they have here. Assuming however that you agent coming here to see Indian related memorials, then this park is very cool. There are trails to hike - a working farm to visit - playgrounds to play in. Whatever you would normally expect in a State Park. So like anything else - do your research before arriving. I unfortunately did not.

I visited a couple of parks during a recent work trip to Lafayette. I was in the area of Greenbush…read moreStreet and found two parks a couple miles apart. By far, this one was preferred. Munger Park is a 32-acre park developed on land donated by Cinergy-PSI. It is named after Thomas and Alice Munger, whose $100,000 donation made development possible. The park was dedicated in 1997. The trail, which I found very accessible, offers lots of open space for frisbee play. The trail goes around the pond and fishing is permitted (state regs apply). Munger Park participates in Indiana DNR's urban fishing program called FishIN in the City. The shelter is located next to the asphalt parking lot off of Greenbush Street. As Ken N. notes in his review, if you want the playground, enter at the south entrance; the north entrance offers the shelter, lake, and hiking. You can easily access all of it without moving the car if you're able to walk/roll, etc. about one mile. The shelter is available for rent each day of the week. You can reserve online, though be aware reservations are non-refundable. This is a really attractive park. It's relaxing, well cared for, and offers great views and easy ways to enjoy the area and take a stroll. The park also has benches to relax along the way. I'd easily return on future trips. This may be more of a 4-star, however, I liked it enough that I'm sticking with the 5-star rating.

If you want to use a shelter, see a lake, and do some hiking, go to the north entrance. Otherwise, you can count on a long walk to get from one side to the other! The park has really nice landscaping on both ends and access to the same trails. Both ends have parking lots on site as well. The best trail for running in the West Lafayette/Lafayette area. On the southernmost point, you can…read morepark at Fort Ouiatenon, take the sidewalk 3/4s of a mile to the trailhead then follow the dirt path along the Wabash River up to the pedestrian bridge, where you can cross over to the Lafayette side or continue up a bit more on paved surface toward a small park, restaurants and the edge of Purdue's campus. If you head over to the Lafayette side, the trail continues on paved surface for a while before returning to a dirt surface and concludes at the Tippecanoe Battlefield Park in Battle Ground, roughly 13 miles from Fort O. The trail is mostly flat and runnable from start to finish. After heavy rains, the river regularly floods the southern part of the trail.

The Wabash Heritage Trail is 13 miles long making it a perfect training ground for a mini marathon…read more However, today we were exploring nature with our granddaughter. We started on the north end at Battleground Memorial. At the head of the trail is a sweet little nature center (Wah-ba-shik-a Nature Center) filled with descriptions of wildlife and fauna that are native to the area. My granddaughter was delighted to see the big white owl that greeted us at the door. The volunteer at the Center was welcoming and admission was free. They had maps for the trail that you can take. There are also special programs offered throughout the year. The trail starts and Battleground and extends all the way to Fort Ouiatenon. We only toured a couple miles along a creek that eventually meets the Wabash River. The trail is mulch covered and easy to navigate by foot. It would be difficult to maneuver a stroller or wheelchair onto the trail. The trail is lined with very large sycamores, oaks, walnuts and other trees native to the area. Some of the trees were at least 300 years older. The creek is clear and suitable for a little stomping. There are occasional benches along the trail as well as informational markers. There were also picnic tables and a water fountain at the trail head. We did not see any restroom facilities, but there were probably some in the Battle Ground Museum. The hike is quiet during the week. You can enjoy the sounds of birds and squirrels. I can imagine how beautiful the trail is when the leaves are changing color. There is some highway traffic noise as you get closer to the highway. The trail does not loop, so you have to backtrack to return to your car. There was plenty of parking at the Memorial. The map indicated that there were about five parking lots along the trail. We enjoyed the hike and will return to do a different section soon. I highly recommend.
