First, the price. It's only $20 for an all-day pass, with shoes and equipment included ($15 if you bring your own stuff)! That's hard to beat. Second, the service. The guy who helped us and showed my son and his friends how to do auto-belay climbing was so chill and friendly and just a great overall human being. He made the experience so fun for my group of teens. I'm going to stop numbering now, and just talk about Climb Time. It's one of the smaller rock climbing gyms in the area, but it's my teen son's favorite, and he specifically wanted to come here for his birthday, because it's a little more challenging than some of the other rock climbing gyms. There's also a bouldering wall, which he loves. When you walk in, it feels very no-frills: Anyone who comes here really wants to climb. We stayed three hours (which was plenty for teen boys) and it was never crowded, but there were always one or two other people there who looked like they knew what they were doing. They came in, they climbed, and they left. Like I said, this is the place to climb if you love to climb and want a nice, no nonsense experience. I did not climb, but instead posted up on the lobby couch. They offer free wifi here, and I took advantage of that to get a little work done while the kids climbed. There's a small concession area with snack foods like granola bars, protein bars, chips, trail mix, beef sticks, string cheese and treats like M&Ms, Starbursts and cotton candy. This place is great. An awesome indoor climbing experience for all. My boys have climbed here but it's my youngest who likes it the most. They have 3 systems where you don't need a spotter, the other climbs require a partner on the ground while you climb the walls. I've never climbed as I'm always the only adult with my boys but it's usually 50/50 split between adults and beginners climbing, all abilities. No need to be bashful of you're a beginner here. Laid back atmosphere. They give you a brief tutorial after they get you in the harness each time you come. They also offer lessons and other group and instructor led activities. There is also an opportunity to join and become a member/frequent climber that has perks, see their website for info. For my 9yo it was $12/day pass that included his climbing gear and shoes only slightly more for older kids. This is a great place. We've been 2x this week already and have been in the past as well. I am a beginner climber and this gym definitely got my into the sport. I started with a CCA league and made friends to keep climbing with. They change the routes pretty often and everyone is willing to help. It can get busy during peak hours but I've never had a problem getting on a wall. Very laid back and friendly. Equipment is easy to use and understand. I don't feel stupid being a beginner, but I can watch other people do crazy advanced routes. They have hangers for coats and cubbies for gear. I've seen a few friendly pups check in now and then. Overall, a good place where everyone is welcome. read more

Sunday funday! Found Climb Time on Groupon and decided to take my 6 yr old rock climbing for the first time, and he LOVED it! The guy at the front desk was super nice and explained everything thoroughly to us. This place is great for people of all ages and skill level. They have lots of different rock walls and a couple of ropes that are automatic if you don't have a partner to spot you. They provide the shoes as well. I recommend going to their website and signing the waiver beforehand, it beats standing in the lobby doing it on their iPad. We will definitely be going back to Climb Time! read more

The environment feels a bit cliquey here honestly...it is easy to spot the regulars and other groups giving you the stink eye. Lighten up folks...I realize you are totally bad ass and I am truly in complete awe of your badassery, but you are in a corporate business park off 96th just south of the mean streets of Fishers. That said it is a diversion and something different to do as a group. My son's ball team came here as a team building event and pizza party upstairs (brought in drinks and snacks, not sold here). Pretty simple deal...they strap up the harnesses, show the spotter (if not free climbling) how to release slack and support the climber, then turn you loose. Plenty of walls and variations to choose from from easy to very difficult and a good confidence builder for a lot of people. Some of the walls are starting to show serious wear and could us some repair. I would recommend going with a group (or friends) since this seems to be a better group activity. Worst quality gym ive ever been to. Dirty, old holds, un-creative routes, tape on every square inch of the wall. I recently went because a friend really wanted to go there and after this last visit i promised myself id never go back. Theyre currently remodeling a few parts of the gym (not climbing walls) but maybe with this remodel they will get new holds and clean up a little. Till then i wont be going back. read more

I am fierce; and buff. And it's partly because of Climb Time Indy. Climbing a wall is tough - weather it's straight-up, inclined, or inverted - and Climb Time has all of those. There are some well-seasoned pros that 'work-out' here; climbers that have been further up the side of a mountain than I ever hope to be. There are also quite a few young'uns, to whom the 'sport' of climbing is more like a day at recess than an actual work-out. Going with a friend, I feel, is a must. So you can mentally get past the intimidating scene upon arrival and just focus on the wall in front of you. If you want to be mocked by rude teenagers who make fun of your lack of knowledge when you're not an expert climber, come right in! You get no help on the ropes, the equipment is falling apart, the shoes are awfully dirty/smelly/torn up, and the tape with levels marked on the wall are falling off. The bottom level, where your feet begin to help you climb, are small and some are broken. The tablets don't work well to do your disclaimer paperwork on, freezing up often. As rude as judgmental as so many people that work and come here are, especially with how expensive it is, I would not recommend Climb Time to anyone! This was my first time rock climbing, and Climb Time Indy was a fantastic place to start. They made the challenge of rock climbing seem easy and non-threatening. They give you a training lesson before you start, and they explain the different courses and challenges available. My nephew, who is 6, was able to jump right in and try almost every climb they have. And for myself, someone in half decent shape, the climbs were still a solid work out. I love it. They have a ton of different challenges available. I came with my friend who is a member here and received a discount for using the tools. This indoor rock climbing gym is relatively small. We came on Saturday and it was PACKED with children who usually do not follow rules. So we had little chance to actually climb. According to my friend, the best time to come is the weekdays, especially Wednesday. Over all the service was okay. The staff was suppose to guide and help you, but there was only 1 staff for the whole place. He was so swamped that my friend just instructed me. I enjoyed the mild inversions and appreciated the fact it was 20 feet of it because I couldn't have handled more. The weekend crowd made this place packed and hard to maneuver but I think this might be solved when they don't have so many walls blocked off/ under construction. Not a fan of lockers with no locks? Indoor rock climbing is my jam. After trying out a few of the other gyms in the city I finally got over to Climb Time Indy. This is definitely one of the older gyms but it certainly gets the job done. Smaller than the others I've visited, they still have plenty of space to climb with varying difficulty levels. Instruction, if you need it, is quick and easy. Be aware that if you have visited other gyms, that instruction on how to balay will vary. I thought I knew how to do everything until I realized that here, you face the opposite direction to bring the person down. One downer is that they only have one auto-Balay station and if someone is on it, then no one else can be on that wall. For a slow day that's fine. But if it's busy I could see it being an issue. They also may want to do some maintenance to the wall. There were a number of pegs that seemed loose and I was afraid to push off. Overall, I had a good time and was challenged. My forearms are still sore from that auto-balay path I chose! read more

Went to Climb Time for the first time and had a lot of fun! I'd never tried climbing and neither had my husband. The instructions were clear and simple, so we didn't feel like we had any issues with safety. It was cool for first-timers like us, but may not be a huge challenge for more experienced climbers. From the pictures and reviews, I knew that it wouldn't be as nice as Hoosier Heights so I decided to come here first. I was extremely unimpressed so I didn't come back for several months after my first visit. Then I saw the Groupon that Climb Time was offering so I decided to give it another chance. After coming here several more times, I will say that this climbing gym has grown on me. The Kindles are not the friendliest to use. After signing the waiver, the service or internet died so I had to sign a paper waiver as well. Then when I came for a second time, I was told that I had to sign the Kindle waiver AGAIN because the waiver server never received my first one and the paper waiver is only valid for a day. The walls and overall gym look really old. Even though they change the routes, they don't do it very often (website states 6-12 weeks). The tapes almost always look worn down. I'm not sure if it's because the gym is smaller so each route gets climbed more or what. You're allowed to boulder on any of their walls but only up to the red line aside for two areas. So the routes end up being pretty short. I pretty much always boulder but have used the auto belays a hand full of times. They have four auto belays, which I think is pretty good considering how small the gym is. Regular top roping is pretty simple here as the climber just clips in but the belayer doesn't have to. It's definitely a plus for parents who don't plan on climbing because they don't have to rent a harness. I'm not sure if they have to pay for a day pass though. The prices for top roping is a bit cheaper--$12 vs $15 at Hoosier Heights and $17 for Evo Rock + Fitness. Bouldering passes are the same for Hoosier Heights at $10 (Evo doesn't have just a bouldering pass). Since both Hoosier Heights and Climb Time are the same distance and price for me, I almost always end up going to Hoosier Heights just because it's a larger and nicer looking facility. And if you climb often, Climb Time gets somewhat boring. Nonetheless, Climb Time is still a decent climbing gym. read more

Really not a big gym but maybe I'm used to big cities. They have about 20 top rope routes set up and two bouldering areas. Top rope looks like there is some decent stuff for beginners (5.09 lowest) but bouldering is set pretty hard. No auto belay so if you wanna climb make sure you can pass a belay test. Overall pretty chill and they have plenty of "observer" space on the middle which is nice to relax between climbs. If you want they also have locks for free for the lockers but probably not really needed ( nobody steals things in an rock gym). read more

The only gripe I have against Climb Time Indy is I always get lost in the complex it's located in. You can't miss it's big blue sign from the highway, and even though I've been there dozens of times, I still seem to take the wrong turn. When you do eventually get there, the small detour will be worth is because this is one of the best gyms I've ever gone too. The place fits my bill of needs on so many levels. It's not a monstrosity of a gym like another in the area. It is small, cozy and able to be constantly changed for a truly unique and personal feel. Everything under the red lines is ok to boulder on. This puts sport, lead, and boulder climbers shoulder to shoulder that creates such an open and welcoming vibe you don't see very often. The staff is filled with young, energetic people who eat, breathe, and sleep climbing. They are helpful with anyone from first timers to those who've seen too many crags. A truly special thing to note about this place is how open the staff is to change. Think a move might be more challenging? See something that could be a whole lot of fun? The staff is probably climbing right next to you and would love to give it a try and maybe even route it! For first timers, the accommodations are great. There is a great loft for bigger parties and those just looking to relax away from the wall and clean facilities if you aren't a regular, smelly climber like some of us. There is also a pro-shop with choice items that are uniquely picked by the staff. Climb Time is welcoming to all types of climbers, old and new. I took my toddler here for the $12 day pass as he loves to climb all over our house and walls! Well he didn't want to climb at all, just kept rolling around on the mats and playing with the climbing ropes so we left after 10 minutes. The walls are great for supporting all skill levels but the community is not. My partner and I came in for a special starting at 5pm and were intending on staying til close. First off they charged us full price and the price of the special and then not only the clique already climbing insulted us audibly and stared us down, but we were slighted by the staff who was schmoozing with the veterans. The vibe was so toxic that we left after only an hour an a half. I love the sport and admire the skill of the climbers there within and I would love to develop my skill as well but it was impossible to enjoy the time spent there. Overall not a good experience. Dealt with a person who was rude to my friend and I because we interrupted his lunch when checking in at the desk. Then was not belay checked by the staff which is a huuuuge safety precaution! Also did not like the anchoring system they use with the top roping. This anchoring in to the floor only allows people to learn how to take slack out of a belay device, not how to belay which is obviously what you have to do when you go real rock climbing. Super sketchy! Plus they only have one person who sets? What? Thats ridiculous! Get some more setters! If you want to keep competitive with the other gyms you cant have someone putting the same type of (tall person) problems up all the time... Plus they need to clean their holds! Super greasy! Gross! All in all - BAD EXPERIENCE - nothing like the rock gym I worked at in NYC and the other ones I've been to around the country. I was a member at climb time for three months and will occasionally go back because it's very close to me. Yes, the gym is very small compared to most rock climbing gyms but that's not always a bad thing. The staff recognizes me and has advised me on which gear to buy several times.
