The doctor gave me a misdiagnosis- one of the doctors at this clinic said a skin lump I had was a benign cyst. When I told him it seemed like a tumor, he told me that "google didn't go to medical school" and left the room. When I finally got a tissue sample of the lump professionally tested (from a different doctor), it turns out it was a certain kind of tumor that can be malignant and I was told it needed to be removed. read more

Came here for the first time with medical insurance.. Must say, wait is pretty long even when you have an appointment and there's not many patients here. However, the perk is that doctors visit fees are cheap here and so are most of the tests! Parking wasn't so bad. There's 2 hour parking spots for $1/hr all around the area and streets and a free parking lot behind the unit. One more thing I wasn't too satisfied with was that all results can not be called to or mailed to you. You have to come in physically to get the results. It can be an inconvenience especially if you work a lot. read more

So I switched to this clinic and Dr Lucero for my primary care. I am so happy with this clinic. I went in because I was running out of a medication that they gave me in the hospital. and I told the staff in the front that I also needed a physical and I was told that they would just do the physical also on the day I went. the doctor sat with me for at least 20 minutes talking to me to get to know me and the problems with my health. I have never had a primary care doctor do that with me in all my years of being alive. They did everything there is to do for a physical. And they're also referring me to two different specialiststo deal with a couple of medical problems that I do have. All the girls on the staff are so nice and respectful. I was told that a few of the people working there are new because they want to make this doctor's office in clinic a better place. I don't understand about all these other really bad reviews on Yelp. I did not experience even a little tiny bit of what these other people have put in their bad reviews. I'm happy with this doctor's office.... I feel at home going to this doctor's office..... Everybody who works there listens to you. And the care is totally excellent. Thank you Dr. Lucero and all you girls on the staff there. Tried to rip me off. Didn't take my insurance and said, "we don't take any insurance"(lie). So rude when your talking and they cut you off because they think you know what your going to say. They don't care about anyone. It's money! I left there with a prescription and 30 dollars office visit, but only after they tried to charge me 780 for the same meds. They assume everyone doesn't have insurance. They assume I was Spanish speaking only and could take advantage of me. They there is no other option, we don't take your insurance, you have to pay, I said that's a lie! They then said the doctor left, nothing we can do... so I asked to talk to new doctor. Do NOT Come here! This clinic is extremely money hungry. My dad wasn't feeling well and we were going to take him to the hospital and one of the medical assistants calls my mom and tells him no it's fine don't take him bring him here and the doctor will see him. My dad goes he waits and the doctor never even sees him and they send him home with nausea medication when he has a FEVER. This whole time he could've been at the hospital getting proper care. God this place is so so bad. Disorganized, understaffed. The nurse and phlebotomist were good but it takes so so so much waiting to get anything done. I'm here waiting an hour just for a TB test check on my skin and a signature. They lied to me and told me that the entire physical would be free then charged me $45 for the TB follow up appointment. It's just not well run here at all. You can probably go to somewhere newer, more truthful, and better run in a more organized way. Dr. Guiamelon was incredibly condescending, talking down to me. This is the worst facility in Los Angeles. The woman at the front desk was half an hour late for intakes. I simply came to pick up lab results. The lab then sent the worst results. It took several more phone calls to get my correct results. The clinician at the facility is excellent. But, to even get to that point, you have to go through all the morons. No manager on site to deal with, either. Except the clinician, most of the staff were fill-ins. Disgraceful for a company that's dealing with health and lab work. read more

If you dont have your entire day free, then don't even come in. You'll wait the same 4 hours whether or not you have an appointment. There's pictures of strippers all over the walls The staff is very unhelpful and rude. The only person I can recommend is Martha in the plastic surgery office (which the staff will send you to to kill time and recommend you have something done -_- ) If you get a test or blood work they wont call you with your results, they make you come in so they can get their $15 co-pay. They charge you that to see a doctor, and again to take a test they recommend, and again to get your results. Most of the staff dont speak English well and its not very clean at all. I waited SIX hours to take a blood test. Its all bad. Terrible experience, very uncomfortable. And if you can't wait six hours they dont refund your co-pay. I think their plan is to charge you when you come in and make you wait all day until you can't anymore and have to leave so its like free money for them. read more

The first few times I went to the cllinic my experience was fine. However, Dr. DIJAMCO who is the Primary Care physician there ruined any previous positive experience. She was rude, did not want to listen to my description of the problem, made inappropriate comments and implied I should not have come in at all as it was Saturday. She obviously does not want to be there and resents it. She completely misdiagnosed me and tried to give me a shot without any explanation as to what it was or side effects. The shot was an antihistamine which would have effected ability to drive etc.I did not need it or ask for it. Fortunately Carlos bent over backwards to contain the situation and tried to help but he can only do so much. He has probably saved the clinic from her before. I am informing my Insurance company that she should not be practicing and I need a new Primnary Care Physician. read more

Worst experience at a clinic ever. I have left a review on my insurance companies directory site so no one ever has to go through such an unprofessional and uncaring experience again. I went three times in one week. My first experience (Monday) it took over four hours to do a checkup and pap smear which also included being forgotten in a room while waiting for someone to do an EKG. Second experience wasn't AS bad but I was so tainted by the first experience a few days prior - it was for an Ultra sound, took about an hour but I had to drink more water so it took about 2-3 hours. Third experience for an X-Ray, the person had an "emergency" and was running late... never mind people got there at 8:30am and it's now 9:30am and you haven't bothered to tell anyone until people start complaining. Such a stressful environment and uncaring staff. There are a few nice people there but unfortunately they are outnumbered by those who don't care. I was just there for a checkup, thank God it was nothing more stressful and serious. Never again. I had to leave because I couldn't wait and I rescheduled my appointment to the one in Westlake which has much better reviews. I will see how that goes. I understand emergencies happen but due to my two previous experiences and other reviews, I'm warning you to run and stay far away this place. It is full of POOP. UPDATE 9/8/14 I am writing this update because there are more absurd updates from this clinic. I just received a bill in the mail from the lab for a drug test. First of all, I never needed a drug test for my visit last Nov because it was not worker's comp or anything but fine, the dr was being thorough. After speaking to the billing dept of the lab, I owe money because the lab this clinic uses is not associated with my health insurance that I had back then. I went to this clinic in the first place because the clinic itself is associated with my insurance and I would be covered after copay. I didn't realize they would use a lab that is not covered by my insurance and they never warned me! So now what should be covered is not all because this clinic did tests that didn't need to be done and didn't warn me about no relation between the lab and my insurance! Downgraded from 2 stars to 1 but I should have rated it zero from the beginning! read more

My mother in-law came here to get results from a previous appointment and was told she would have to wait because she didn't speak English, behind customers who came in after her. I called and was told that it was a misunderstanding and that what they meant was that she would have to wait for them to get someone who speaks spanish, even though the nurse who told her she would have to wait.....guess what.....spoke spanish! Also, this place is called "Clinica medica" so one could assume this would be an establishment with spanish speaking employees, correct? So why would my mother in-law need to wait behind other customers to be helped? If the truth is that the nurse couldn't speak spanish, then: A) Why was she heard speaking spanish? and B) Why couldn't someone come forward right then to help her out? Why would she need to be pushed back? As you can see this place has very low ratings as it it. Save yourself the time and go to a real clinic where you won't be treated dog shit. read more

Doctor was great and gave me lots of valuable information. The staff needs work. The first time I came here I waited two hours to see the doc. The next time I came I waited an hour and a half in a room in the back and wasn't seen until after I asked someone. The third time I came for my results and I have been here for three hours. First experience there was being REALLY ill with a cough for over 6 weeks, calling ahead of time to make SURE x-ray services would be available on the day of my visit, being assured they would be, then getting there, waiting 3 hours for doctor (had an actual appointment scheduled), and then having them tell me the x-ray tech had gone home for the day. The manager was apologetic, but then when I finally got my chest x-ray done later on, I called for my results and was told I had to PAY for a follow up visit just to get my results! (in other words, I'd have to spend hours in there again for the doctor to tell me my results were normal and send me on my way?) No way! I am an RN, told them so and told them that (as a patient), I have a right to my own medical records and that it was ILLEGAL to charge me for them. She persisted in their "policy", which is only set up to cover their liability. I need the results by December 23rd. to get TB clearance for my job. They are hindering everything... my employment, (on top of just being stubborn, illogical, and difficult). I now have to go in and battle for my own medical record on Monday... what a joy! I had no insurance coverage due a pre-existing condition and that is the ONLY reason I subjected myself to the inferior service there. The doctor, I'll admit was over worked and needs a partner... pleasant and competent enough... but as usual, front desk power plays continue to plague patients. read more

This place is awful! My appointment was at 10 a.m. First of all, I got there at 9:45 a.m. the doctor arrived at the office at 12:30 p.m., then at 1:30 p.m. she went out to lunch and didn't walk into the building until 3 p.m. I finally saw her at 4 p.m. I complained but that didn't make a difference. The girl at the front desk went on to tell me, that the doctor at this office comes once a month and books as many patients as she can. Then, I told her that the doctor went on a really long lunch break, and she said that it wasn't true. That, the doctor only takes a 10 minute break. I told her I saw the doctor with my own two eyes walk out the building and I saw her when she came back at 3p.m. She took an 1 1/2 lunch break. She said she understood but that there was nothing she could do. So, if you don't want to feel like a second class citizen then avoid coming to this phony clinic! By the way, some of the "nurses" don't even speak English. Everytime, I asked something in English the nurse would answer back in Spanish. Terrible! read more
