I have a severe case of Neuropathy and am on medication to help with the symptoms and pain…read more Dr. Kimberly K. Kosatka is a wonderful doctor! She always takes the time to listen and understand everything that I'm concerned with. I never feel rushed or stressed out during my doctors appointment. She's very good about finding cures and or treatments for everything that I'm concerned about and going on with me. She's very understanding, welcoming, polite, supportive, caring, professional and helpful. They will be moving to a new location and I'm going to follow her there. I think she's a great doctor!

I'd been having leg pain that I chalked up to moving (packing, lifting, all that). However, it got increasingly worse and the pain was excruciating. It got to the point that I had to crawl out of bed in the morning, holding onto furniture. It would take all day for it to feel just slightly better. I saw a PA who was young and I thought that would be great because she'd listen, care, and be attentive. At least that was the vibe I got. WRONG! She decided to have me tested for rheumatoid arthritis. Luckily, the bloodwork came back negative. I saw the results online within 24 hours. She didn't comment on them for a week (electronically)! What if I didn't have access to the results and I was frantically waiting for them? When she responded she said, "good news...now let's look at next steps". I NEVER HEARD FROM HER AGAIN! I called the office (well call center) a couple of times and sent a couple of messages online. NO RESPONSES! Finally, almost three weeks later I get a call from a doctor at one of their other locations who suggested physical therapy. He said he couldn't diagnose me over the phone (of course not), he read the results to me and suggested perhaps the pain was a viral infection. HUH? Also, front desk staff were awful; they tried to charge me as a cash patient stating I had no insurance when I presented them with my card and they made a copy of it. I wasn't listened to, I wasn't cared for, and I was improperly billed (calling insurance provider got it straightened out). BTW, whatever the heck was going on eventually went away on its own. Also, I found an amazing practice even closer to my home and work. There are lots of choices in Austin for healthcare. Don't make the same mistake I did.

It was a literal nightmare hopping around and meeting with doctors and practitioners who didn't listen, trying to work with unprofessional and unqualified staff, etc. And then...I discovered Harbor Health! I go to the Calles Street location and everyone is marvelous! From the attentive front desk staff to the caring and knowledgeable medical assistants, and the doctors/practitioners who care and listen, it has been amazing. The front desk staff will always take the time to answer questions, ensure that all is ok all while displaying empathy that is bar none. In fact, that goes for everyone at the practice. They truly want to be there, they truly want to help others. I can't recommend them enough whether it's for a physical or an issue you may be having, they care! The do it right! Try to get an appointment with Shanna Barry! She listens. She doesn't rush through the appointment! Bonuses: if you need bloodwork, Quest Diagnostics is located in-office! And this next bonus is mainly for me, it's a five minute drive from my apartment.

I was using Austin Regional…read moreClinic and waiting months for appointments, never really able to establish a relationship with a doctor, and never able to get an rx when I was sick, meaning I was also relying on UrgentCare for strep tests or a UTI. One Medical is so amazing. Yes, you pay a membership fee, but then, YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE A DOCTOR. Like, the day you need to. Or, you do a video chat, or send your doctor a message that they actually respond to in a timely manner. The app is also super helpful and efficienct. They have this great feature that you can get immediate help for certain things like colds, yeast infections, or ordering a lab test. You fill out the information in the app, and someone gets back to you right away, putting in the lab visit or sending the rx to your pharmacy. I really don't think I have ever had medical access that is responsive and available when I need it. Their lab is open for drop ins throughout the day, and I have never waited more than 15 minutes to be seen. It is just really excellent service. I hope it stays this way!

They stick to their schedule well, I've never waited more than 5 mins over my appointment time. They have a lab in-office, so you don't have to go to a separate place for bloodwork. Before even…read moregetting started he tried to pass me off to a dermatologist since it was skin related (first available wouldn't be for another two weeks). This guy completely jumped to the most common diagnosis without even looking at my rashes first. Just as poor was the fact I knew he was wrong (this spread was more aggressive) and after *I urged him to please look at it* it was clear that he was completely wrong. I then had to urge him to prescribe me medication to preventatively stop the spread which he was hesitant to do and told me to just buy an OTC cream. Two days later I went to Urgent Care because the rash had spread and gotten so much worse. The Nurse Practitioner said that everything this guy did was wrong, that it was clearly not common fungal and anybody that looked at it could see that, and that even the medication he recommended was far too weak to put a dent on the problem. After three days with new medication I was in recovery. I don't care if/how intelligent this guy might be. His apathy and malpractice that day to me while being (thankfully not fully) trusted as a doctor almost caused me severe health problems that needed fixing by someone more competent in Urgent Care -- the last thing I want is for more to experience the same, especially if they don't self-advocate as much as I had to just to recover.
