I was using Austin Regional…read moreClinic and waiting months for appointments, never really able to establish a relationship with a doctor, and never able to get an rx when I was sick, meaning I was also relying on UrgentCare for strep tests or a UTI. One Medical is so amazing. Yes, you pay a membership fee, but then, YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE A DOCTOR. Like, the day you need to. Or, you do a video chat, or send your doctor a message that they actually respond to in a timely manner. The app is also super helpful and efficienct. They have this great feature that you can get immediate help for certain things like colds, yeast infections, or ordering a lab test. You fill out the information in the app, and someone gets back to you right away, putting in the lab visit or sending the rx to your pharmacy. I really don't think I have ever had medical access that is responsive and available when I need it. Their lab is open for drop ins throughout the day, and I have never waited more than 15 minutes to be seen. It is just really excellent service. I hope it stays this way!

They stick to their schedule well, I've never waited more than 5 mins over my appointment time. They have a lab in-office, so you don't have to go to a separate place for bloodwork. The doctors are respectful and kind - I really like my regular GP, but if he isn't available I'll see one of the other doctors and they are amazing too.

She is literally incredible on every level…read more She feels like a sister that cares so much about your well being but is totally cool not hearing from you except when you need her. Lol. I'm 43 and have dealt with chronic illness for many years. I'm pretty much a Subject Matter Expert on being a patient as I've seen so many doctors and practitioners. 2.5 years ago I moved to Austin and just happened to choose IFH to get started with a doctor in my new city. Today I sit here in the office waiting for an appointment to see Amy and I think about how lucky I was 2.5 years ago...and I just hope she never leaves. Also it's because of her that I FINALLY got diagnosed with a rare sleeping disorder after almost a decade of suffering and seeing specialists. She listened and was constantly in a diagnostic mind frame with me. I can't recommend her enough.

I've been a patient here for 10 years and I'll be seeking a new PCP after my last visit. I…read moretypically see Amy, though had Dr. Guerra for one visit. They are both pleasant with good bedside manner, and the care is fine. However, I can no longer tolerate the billing practices. If you go for an annual wellness visit, you WILL be charged for numerous assessments that were not performed, or for a higher level of care than what was actually provided (in other words, upcharging). I used to overlook this because I had great insurance and it would usually be a $25 copay. Now that I have a high-deductible plan, I refuse to pay over $200 for an annual wellness visit that did not have any diagnostic elements. At my last visit, charges included: -99396 Established patient periodic preventive medicine examination age 40-64 years (yes, this is legitimate) -99214 Established patient office or other outpatient, visit (This is an upcharge. I did not discuss ANY topics besides immunizations, cancer screening, and contraception. These are all components of a wellness visit. A provider cannot charge for both of these visit types) -96127 Brief emotional or behavioral assessment (This charge was for a standard mental health assessment that is considered preventative screening. If you fill out a PHQ-9 and GAD-7 at check-in, they will charge you for it without telling you. You will not be given the option to decline these forms.) -99497 Advance care planning by the physician or other qualified health care professional (This is a flat-out lie. There was absolutely no discussion of advanced directives at my visit.) Lab assessments - Amy ordered a slew of expensive hormonal tests without my consent, and now I'm on the hook to pay Quest. I didn't discuss any concerns that would necessitate a hormone work-up. I have contested the bill with my insurance company. Honestly I am not sure how Inspire stays in business because the billing practices are so blatantly fraudulent.

He has been among…read morethe worst doctor's that I have ever had the misfortune to have dealt with for the following reasons: - Rushes the appointment - General disinterest - Does NOT fill your prescriptions In my initial appointment with him, he attempt to make an effort at listening to me however the entire appointment felt extremely rushed and he made nearly every attempt to end it within 10-15 minutes. Following this, it was nearly impossible to get a prescription filled by him to the point that in the last two months, my prescriptions were filled by other doctor's (despite significant efforts including calls, online messages in the portal, and online messages on the Victory Medical Klarna messenger ranging from 10 days up to day of). The staff was also deeply unhelpful, letting me know that in order to get my prescription refilled, I should use the online portal, but if I sent in my prescription request earlier than 5 business days, then it would be ignored. If I sent in later than 5 business days, it was also likely to be ignored. And when I did send it in 5 business days, it was still ignored. I have left several online messages, following up each day, in an attempt to just get a response, and in the past few months I have received none. And god forbid you have multiple prescriptions, because Dr. Pekar will maybe fill one prescription and completely ignore the others. They also look to charge your insurance as much as possible. By state law, practices can but are not required to drug test you for controlled prescriptions. Most doctors range somewhere between once to twice a year. Dr. Pekar will force you into doing a drug test EVERY month. So, not only is he an uncaring and lazy doctor, he also wants to take as much money from you and your insurance by pushing needless tests on you as often as possible. In sum, please do NOT see Dr. Pekar if you want quality care.

From the minute I stepped foot the entire staff was welcoming and friendly, made the entire experience fantastic. Dr. Pekar himself makes you feel like you've known him forever and has fantastic medical advice and really listens to your concerns. The facility is lovely, clean, and has loads of parking (something I always worry about) and there is a pharmacy for convenience right downstairs in case you need the prescription directly following your appointment! Highly recommend!

This guy completely jumped to the most common diagnosis without even looking at my rashes first. Just as poor was the fact I knew he was wrong (this spread was more aggressive) and after *I urged him to please look at it* it was clear that he was completely wrong. I then had to urge him to prescribe me medication to preventatively stop the spread which he was hesitant to do and told me to just buy an OTC cream. Two days later I went to Urgent Care because the rash had spread and gotten so much worse. The Nurse Practitioner said that everything this guy did was wrong, that it was clearly not common fungal and anybody that looked at it could see that, and that even the medication he recommended was far too weak to put a dent on the problem. After three days with new medication I was in recovery. I don't care if/how intelligent this guy might be. His apathy and malpractice that day to me while being (thankfully not fully) trusted as a doctor almost caused me severe health problems that needed fixing by someone more competent in Urgent Care -- the last thing I want is for more to experience the same, especially if they don't self-advocate as much as I had to just to recover.

I'd been having leg pain that I chalked up to moving (packing, lifting, all that). However, it got increasingly worse and the pain was excruciating. It got to the point that I had to crawl out of bed in the morning, holding onto furniture. It would take all day for it to feel just slightly better. I saw a PA who was young and I thought that would be great because she'd listen, care, and be attentive. At least that was the vibe I got. WRONG! She decided to have me tested for rheumatoid arthritis. Luckily, the bloodwork came back negative. I saw the results online within 24 hours. She didn't comment on them for a week (electronically)! What if I didn't have access to the results and I was frantically waiting for them? When she responded she said, "good news...now let's look at next steps". I NEVER HEARD FROM HER AGAIN! I called the office (well call center) a couple of times and sent a couple of messages online. NO RESPONSES! Finally, almost three weeks later I get a call from a doctor at one of their other locations who suggested physical therapy. He said he couldn't diagnose me over the phone (of course not), he read the results to me and suggested perhaps the pain was a viral infection. HUH? Also, front desk staff were awful; they tried to charge me as a cash patient stating I had no insurance when I presented them with my card and they made a copy of it. I wasn't listened to, I wasn't cared for, and I was improperly billed (calling insurance provider got it straightened out). BTW, whatever the heck was going on eventually went away on its own. Also, I found an amazing practice even closer to my home and work. There are lots of choices in Austin for healthcare. Don't make the same mistake I did.
