I referred my mom there to get a second opinion on a major teeth replacement because we weren't confident about our current dentist. To her surprise, the treatment recommended by her previous dentist was completely an inappropriate treatment for her situation and she would've spent thousands of dollars on something that was misdiagnosed!!! Thankfully Dr André Tam Ho properly reassessed her situation and prescribed a proper treatment plan. After hearing her experience, I was confident in making the switch. The dental office is located in a very accessible area as there are bus stops literally across the street from the office where the buses are very frequent. The office is very inviting and has a personal, branded touch. The staff is very professional and friendly. A very thorough patient intake form ensures they know all about you. They have the latest in technology where each one of my teeth were treated to a photoshoot! They have HD Xrays of your teeth to ensure there are no hidden issues. My hygienist, Christine, is very gentle and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend! Dr Ho is pleasant and reassuring. He's also very knowledgeable and has over 20 years of experience. In all, it was the most comprehensive dental experience I've ever had! Only after this experience I realized how little I was getting for my money in my other clinic. (It was so bad at the time that I avoided the dentist until it was dire, and would be anxiety ridden before, and during any session). After meeting him for an initial check up and cleaning, I was so comfortable I went ahead and some small procedures done (like changing some old fillings from silver to white), each time I felt better and more at ease with the process and my phobia disappeared. I have been a regular patient twice a year for cleanings ever since. Over time he has taken me through 2 new crowns, a few fillings, a route canal (see Dr Katz review), and whitening treatment. I have to admit that he has not had to do too much in the way of work, because the maintenance program we have is so good. His entire staff including his most valuable asset (Mary-Jane who is his receptionist) and the various hygienists I have had make going to the dentist a pleasant experience. I know this sounds crazy coming from someone who feared dentist, but knowing your taking care of your health, and that those assisting you are so sincere does just that. He was considerate to my preferences (I asked for local anesthesia). He establishes comfortable verbal connection during the procedure (we chatted while he wasn't working on my tooth). I went to Dr. Collins as a new resident of Montreal, and had no clue for what a great experience I was in for. I had previously gone to a dentist in Chicago and knew that I needed a crown on a tooth that had previously undergone a root canal. Dr. Collins is by far the best dentist I have ever gone to. He made sure to make me feel comfortable and was very aware of how anxious I was about the procedure. He talked to me about all my options, never pressured me and took the procedure at a slower pace that I could handle. His office is gorgeous, and has a panoramic view of Mt. Royal and the canal. It is located on the 9th floor of the Transat Tower which is across the street from Parc Jeanne Mance and Parc Mount Royal. What a view! Completely different than most dentist offices, which resemble dungeons more than anything else. He put on a movie for me to watch while he was doing the procedure, it definitely helped me take my mind off of everything and eased my anxiety. His assistant was super sweet and chatted with me before and after, making me feel comfortable and not worried. I'm sooooooo glad I somehow found Dr. Collins, he made the whole experience painless in every way.

Most notably, they removed the reliable brackets my oral surgeon put on my teeth at age 18 to set my mouth up for a lifetime of success, and sold me for over 1,000$ on a 'new' set of brackets that started to peel away after 2 months and left vulnerable teeth unprotected. I will need to source an oral surgeon for another few grand to repair the damage they have caused. Hopefully my teeth haven't moved in the meantime - if they have, I'll need braces again! Also, I think it's important you know that their dentists also try to sell you on unnecessary and costly procedures while you're under anesthetic. I could say more, but hopefully that will be enough for you to change your course.

I only have love for the staff here- from the receptionists to the dental hygienists to my actual dentist! I understand how daunting dental exams can sometimes be but the quality of the experience here helps reduce any anxiety you may have. The space is clean and modern. I went on three occasions (in one week!) and each time the friendly dental hygienists thoroughly explained which tools were going to be used and for what purpose. My dentist Dr Desmarchais is first of all hilarious which is actually an inconvenience since it was uncomfortable to laugh with so many tools in my mouth. She explained which treatments I needed and how to maintain healthy dental hygiene. Spoiler alert: flossing is not optional. I've had bad experiences with other dentists where the work had to be redone and I used to always get food stuck in my teeth but I haven't had any issues since my appointment here. They use digital X-rays as well, which is apparently better than traditional X-rays. Since they're located dt, they come in at 7:30am to accommodate office workers who want to squeeze in an appointment before work.
