These guys are amazing. I think the first time I ever went here was in 2010. My girlfriend at the time told me about it and we went together. After that, I went back several times between 2011 and 2013. Once I was there and an older guy was behind the counter (the father of the two brothers who work there, I believe), in chatting he asked me what town I was from. I told him. Then he said, "I was in the Navy with a...." then he name-dropped my uncle. I had not told him my name. I said, "You were in the Navy with my uncle?!" and we got to chatting. I've made several purchases here, almost all of them coins. Also bought a few Rolling Stones albums. Today I was hanging out with my dad and he randomly asked if I wanted to go to Clinton Antique Center. I said sure. I hadn't been in about 8 years. I scoped out everything, including the albums, but the coins always grab me. There were many coins I wanted, and the prices are reasonable...about average. I asked the gentleman behind the counter to open 2 cases for me. From one case, I grabbed a 1909 V.D.B. wheat penny. Price was marked $20. Maybe I little high, but i was fine with paying it. From the second case, I looked at two Barber half dollars, then a 1925 Peace dollar for $35, but ultimately went with a 1900-O Morgan for $40. Silver value is only about $20 but Morgan's carry a premium. Price was probably a bit high, but not too much it's cool. Got to the checkout with $60 in coins, he gave me my total: $54. I said okay! These are great guys with a great little shop. I've never gone in there and not walked out with something, even if just an old copy of Tattoo You for $8. Keep up the great work, fellas! read more

I can't believe I haven't left a review here yet! I've been coming here since I moved to CT 6 years ago, and every time I visit the antique center I go home with a unique find. The first time was a Victorian pin cushion. The second, a Victorian lamp. We've purchased re-enactment swords, Harvard glasses, and all kinds of little odds and ends. You have to dig for really well priced objects, but most booths will usually have a discount. I highly recommend stopping in and browsing, it takes on average about an hour to do a full loop through. read more

Pretty cool booth style antique store. A lot of booths had a discount going on. A lot of stuff packed in there from floor to ceiling, and outside too. I found a couple things to buy. Prices were high and reasonable on most items. I would definitely try to haggle and ask if that booth had a sale going on. Inside is maze-like with antiques and vintage items. Today was our first visit to Clinton Antique Center and we will definitely return! We were driving down Rte.1 antique hunting and noticed the parking lot was FULL! Impressed and thinking that was a good sign, we pulled in and were not disappointed. It's not a hole in the wall... it's a virtual antique's "mall"! It's filled with dozens of individual stalls with goods from various dealers with a wide variety of vintage and antique merchandise and collectibles. Not much furniture, but they have just about everything else! There is so much to choose from we were there for hours, it was great! The guys that own it (brothers?) are fun and friendly, very happy to answer questions and open the locked cabinets. Great guys, they're quick with a smile and even quicker to help! There were lots of customers, not just browsers. I noticed many people paying for goods, they weren't leaving empty handed... a good sign the stock is regularly replenished and the selection remains interesting. When it came our turn to pay, we were served with a smile. All our breakables were very carefully wrapped and we were thanked with such kindness and sincerity (the likes of which you rarely experience these days) that we felt valued and appreciated. Had the best time at the Clinton Antique Center. The two brothers working were friendly, helpful, and made our experience one we can't wait to go back to. They chatted with us, talked about antiques and really made the experience lovely. There were so many different displays, with so many unique artifacts and antiques. We founds lots of hidden gems. You need a significant amount of time to be able to get through everything. We were there for almost 2 hours and only got through a quarter of the store. The best part was that we were hitting on the closing time and we were told to just take our time. We didn't feel rushed or that we didn't matter. Again I can't wait to come back. I'm a collector of fire king and I find something I didn't even know existed like this McDonald's mug....it really made my day. read more

Clinton Antique Center holds a myriad of treasures. If you're looking for something old, kitschy, funky, antique, classic, or vintage... they've got it. The store is comprised of items sold by the owner, and stalls where other individuals can sell their antique items. Prices seemed fair. Just a for instance... they have old lunch boxes, vintage signs, classic posters, collectible glasses, records, jewelery, pennants, mirrors, phones.... I could go on and on. A junk lover's paradise! One of the owners saw me looking through some postcards from days of yore, and asked me what type I was looking for. Best part about this place...all the killer vintage signs hanging up all around the store. Worst part about this place.. they don't sell any of them! What a joke. A great place to look for and buy antiques. Located right on Main St in the middle of Clinton it's easy to find and easy to spend a lot of time and money here. It's divided into many different areas so you get to see different types of antiques and have a chance to find many very unusal items. It's not that neat or organized but that actually makes it more fun because you have to work to find your particular treasure. read more

What you should know about the Clinton Antique Center is that they sell junk. Yes junk. But it's very cool junk. Just don't pay a lot for it because chances are it's not worth a high price tag. I picked up a few reasonably priced antiques for my house. I take that back. I wouldn't go so far to call them antiques. They're more or less items you might discover sitting in your grandfather's old barn or backyard. A lot of the stuff they sell looks like the stuff found on the television show American Pickers. If you like that show, then you'll probably like this place. Instead of finding Mike and Frank here, you might find some groovy signs or old trinkets to stick on your walls. PS: Don't bother inquiring about the old VW Beetle chrome hub caps. I already tried. They're not for sale :-( read more

The Clinton Antique Center is probably one of my favorite places on earth. I could spend hours there (and have!) It is basically a sensory overload. My favorite thing about the antique center is that there's really something for everyone, both in terms of taste and prices. This is the best antique shop in Connecticut. We drove all the way from the Hudson Valley to peruse the latest merchandise. We've made this very long trip before and it is worth the hike. I am not a huge antique fan, but I really enjoyed rummaging through this store. I don't know if this is a very popular concept, but I love that the majority of the space is booths rented out to various antique dealers. It is like a permanent antique fair set up indoors. Lots of great stuff, lots of interesting people. I had a good time. I understand the 'fake' complaint from above, but the antique business is one riddled with inherent riks. You accept those risks when you purchase something without a third party appraisal. If you are going to buy a $2,000 antique, have someone you trust who knows what they are doing check it for you first. You can't expect to get a refund at an antique store... that doesn't happen. read more

One of the best antiques stores in the area. I stop here often and always enjoy taking a look around. It is divided into kiosks or booths with different vendors, but the whole store still has continuity. It is a bit cluttery but manages to still appear clean. I would say it is probably not a great place to bring young kids because there are lots of unsecured breakables and some of the aisles are narrow and would be difficult to navigate with a stroller. Otherwise it's a marvelous place to browse and to shop. You should definitely plan at least an hour because the store is rather large and there are many interesting things to look at. The guys at at the counter are friendly and helpful also. There is public restroom, though it is a little run down, however it is convenient if you find yourself mesmerized by their vast collection of antiques and end up spending several hours inside the store. This has to be one of the most unique gems that I've stumbled upon in Connecticut. The staff was amazingly knowledgeable, helpful, kind and just all around good people. I saw a young woman in there asking how much she could possibly get appraised for her grandmothers jewelry with a story about her and the appraiser as well as some customers that seem to be regulars that just stop on by time to time gave their honest opinion. Side note, everything each cubical had to offer with different treasures and memories from each persons life, I'd say are all in well kept condition and priced fairly. I'll be back for sure for some items to diy with, furnishings for the home and some cool gifts. read more

Have come here many times over the years and have purchased something almost every time. I have to say though, I won't be going back. When I visited last week I was surprised and appalled by the amount of Nazi and Hitler items were being sold. Not appropriate. Won't be spending money here again. read more

The inventory turns over regularly, so there is usually a fresh number of things to see. They sold a fake to me for two thousand dollars and lied about it when I asked if it was real.One of the owners sold it to me.I was so proud to own it until a friend said he saw a reproduction less than five years old that looked just like mine. I took it to several experts and they said the age was faked buy burying it for several years and the colors were wrong for it to be authentic as well as the type of construction and fasteners. Now they won't return my calls or talk to me when I show up to ask for a refund.That's what I get for shopping at an antique "center". I lost 3 weeks pay to these guys. The fake was appraised for 140.00!!! Very dissappionting and I feel like a fool. read more

we've been coming to Clinton Antique Center for over 10 years, and seldom leave empty handed. The brothers that run it are super friendly, eager to help and very laid back - so laid back we sometimes refer to them as the stoner antique guys. The many dealers have a great variety of merchandise, most at very competitive prices. The emphasis is on smaller items (i.e. not much furniture) but much of it is very well selected. My favorite dealers specialize in kitchen items and mid-century smalls, and traffic here is brisk so there's a good rate of stock turnover.
