Wonderful farmers market with area farmer selling their produce. It is so nice to buy locally organic produce from the farmers.

Maybe this isn't the right season, but I was highly disappointed with what was being offered. There wasn't that many stands out, it was probably 15 venders at most. Back at one time, you had so many choices it was shoulder to shoulder traffic. The prices no longer show any value to cause you to come here. Honestly you can shop at Price rite and Walmart, and see that their vegetables and fruit are cheaper. read more

This place is great for some things, not so great for others. The best part of this market are the lfower sellers in the spring.summer. I go here for all my annuals, and all my herbs that I grow. I used to buy veggie plants, too, but now I just focus on flowers and herbs. Their selection is wonderful, and they are always fully-stocked. They have tons of plants, and several different vendors. Good news is, the prices are basically the same so there's no need to shop around- but some vendors focus more on one thing than others. There's the herb and vegetable plant seller, and the one that focuses more on flowers. Then the one in the back sells everything- but they each have their own unique items. I try to purchase form everyone to spread the wealth. There is a vendor who has a "farmers market" but it's not a real farmers market. They are selling food that you get at supermarkets- produce form California, Mexico, et. They are NOT selling local farm stand items, so if you want a farmers market experience where you support your local farmers- DO NOT buy form this one. This is my really big negative gripe about this place. The parking lot is also atrocious!! there are more potholes, crumbling asphalt, and dips than there is smooth pavement! I have to drive 5mps through the whole place! They could use a new parking lot - it's really bad. There's also a flea market of sorts in the far back that is there sometimes, not other items- I went to look once, but it seemed like a lot of junk, and nothing I was interested in. I will say this place is an odd mix of things, but the flower vendors for my garden are irreplaceable, an I will always com here to stock my garden every year! read more

Of the many choices we have for farmers market, this one is the most interesting and worth a visit. Come in early spring and buy plants and vegetables to grow in your garden. With many varieties of annuals and perennials you can't lose because the prices are so attractive and difficult to pass up. During the summer months, enjoy fun of shopping for beautiful produce, locally grown, fresh and still have real dirt on them. You'll find everything that is in season at the moment, plus a unique assortment of plums or beans for example. It was great to see elderberries for sale, recently, but I thought it was little bit pricey. Then I regretted not buying them. I will next time if still available. Tart cherries from a Polish farmer's truck are always a treat along with many kind of plums and apples he offers. Sweet corn from the Amish stand was delicious! You don't have to put anything on it to enjoy the corn. Every bite was like eating cake, so sweet and satisfying, but if you feel like have a real dessert, have a pie. They have different kind of pies for you with seasonal fruits. The tomatoes were sweet and meaty and the melon is juicy and ripe to perfection. Beans are crispy and extremely flavorful and peppers with a strong, wonderful smell makes you'll eat it raw like an apple. Everything looks great at this market. Besides vegetables and fruits livestock is also available. If you want a live chicken come and get it. There are eggs too of course. What's not to love about fresh farmer's eggs? Shopping for food is only half of the enjoyment. Second is a Flea Market with all kind of treasures. You never know what you can find there. I have to mention, my review is based on shopping on weekend, especially Saturday. I'm not sure how busy is this place at the rest of the week, but Saturday is the time to go. Yeah. This is a risky place to visit during Covid. Tons of people without masks. How do people not believe in science? And clearly not enough people managing the place to force the wearing of masks. Did I mention - mostly VENDORS without masks. Baffling. read more

I haven't been here in years, since I was little. With the farmers markers opening up around town for the season, I wanted to go to an old mainstay, that I think is open year round. There is ample parking. There is a side for flea market shopping, and for produce and flowers. The prices are good. read more

During the summer and early fall I love it here. So much great affordable produce and the variety is unbelievable! The downsides are that the parking lot is an absolute nightmare and if you already have mobility issues the uneven pavement and curbs makes it tough to get around. Luckily I've been able to park fairly close and can keep going back and forth to put my goodies in the car ( produce gets heavy)...definitely check this place out and support your local farmers. read more

This place has been existence since at least the 1970's. For fresh fruit and vegetables from local farmers, you can't pick a better place. This Saturday, I picked up 3 zucchini for $1 and a tray of living micro greens for $6, along with a quart of local cherries for $3. I swung by the vendor selling flowers and plants and got 2 full trays of petunia flowers for less than $20 -- about half the price you'd pay at Home Depot. But don't come here just for the deals, on Saturdays the market even features live entertainment, which when I was visiting consisted of an elementary school child singing Elvis songs, clad in a pink suit. Very cute. Many immigrants visit this market too, which makes it even more interesting. I can't recommend this place enough! read more

About a 20 minute drive from UB, I came here on a Saturday at 4PM. There was plenty of parking and not crowded at all. Everything was super fresh and very inexpensive (the sweet peppers were a huge steal ($1 for HUGE one). They had everything: pumpkins, tomatoes, concord grapes, corn, eggplant, zucchini, string beans, all types of gords, peppers, and more!! There was also local, fresh jams, maple syrup, baked goods, and fresh flowers. Everyone was really friendly and will definitely go back. read more

Another hidden treasure in Buffalo. We got a ton of fresh produce; although most of the fruits & veggies were the same things you get in the super market, I was able to get some elderberries!!! This market offers more than just produce; I plan to return to get some local maple syrup (price was comparable to major stores) and wild honey. My grandma came to utilize the Double-Up program for SNAP benefits, which gives you an additional $20 to purchase produce. This was pretty quick and it was easy to sign-up! Tips: - Parking can be a beast; so practice patience! - Bring cash! Some vendors accept credit, but not many. - The parking lot could use some TLC, so if you/your loved one is in a wheelchair, be prepared to put in a lil elbow grease. - The Double-Up line begins at 8:30 & you should get there as soon as possible! That line gets long, QUICKLY! - Be open minded! read more

I ended here because of Jessica's review. I needed some oddball plants which are relatively difficult to find. Among them is a "King Tut", a large papyrus. They also stock "Baby Tut's" a cuter, smaller version. The selection and pricing are fantastic. The owners are super knowledgeable, as they should be, of what they sell. In fact one of them stopped me from buying a plant because it was not what I was looking for. A point that was determined after speaking to them about my plans for it. I was looking for an ornamental grass plant and had picked up a "spike", which is a smaller, decorative plant used in pots and beds. I would have been pissed had I brought this home expecting it to take root and prosper aside my pool and finding it growing at a rate of one inch or so per year. I won't go on and on about the great selection of vegetable plants but I will finish my review by saying that I was thrilled to be greeted by the Lavocat resident cat. This is his second year there. read more

Great farmer's market! Cheaper than the Elmwood Bidwell, I think. I got three cucumbers, an onion, and a huge bunch of dill for $4 total (I was making pickles and needed more cucumbers and dill). I definitely will be coming back for more fresh fruits and veggies! read more

Came here on a whim when I drove past on my way to the Jack Craft Fair at the Central Terminal. I got 2 heavy bags full of tomatoes and eggplants, for $10. Obviously we made a HUGE batch of eggplant parmesan, which turned out really well! This market was technically closed when we rolled up, but the vendors still had product out. I thought it was totally great! I can't wait to come back. Beautiful produce and plants. Cheap prices. Can't argue that! read more

Love it here. We go early so parking is not a problem. In addition to fresh vegetables and fruit, we get fresh eggs, fresh meat from Hereford's Premium Beef, and recently amazing baked goods from Doughlicous. So much cheaper than the Bidwell Market and much more variety. read more

This place shines in the summer and runs full time then. The hours and offerings are reduced to weekends in the fall. This place is a diamond in the rough. In the summer months you will find true ma and pa "pop up stores" using the back of a moving truck or pick up truck to sell seedlings and fruits and vegetables. There are some small time vendors that buy items wholesale and then resale it to the retailer here. But if you ask the right questions you can filter out those stalls and focus on the stalls that are truly doing a "local" thing. My favorite booth is run by Bob and Bob (Pa and son-in-law combo) in southwest stalls 251-259 (only there May-June). The are the real deal. When I asked what their farm name was...they don't have one because they are hobby growers that grow amazing tomato and herb seedlings in their green house and when their "stock" is gone they are done coming to the C-B market until next year. I can go on and on about the tomato plants available here but I'll attempt to keep it succint. Although they do not stock any heirloom varieties (you can get them at another booth or next door at Lavocats Garden run by Younger Bob's uncle in law) they have the most amazing, hearty selection of patio and container tomatoes that are about 2 gallons for $10-$12. YES....you read that right. And NO I'm not overestimating the size of the plant/container. I picked up a Lizzano, Tumbling Tom, and Patio Container for less than what the local nursery near my house was selling a smaller Patio Container Tomato for. Needless to say, the selection and quantity of these plants are better in May and the prices slowly get reduced after Memorial Day to promote clearance. They also carry herbs for $2-3 a pot. Generic 6 pack of veggies can be bought for $2 a pack or a flat (of 12 six packs) for $18. That's a steal. I went to a local nursery and they were charging $18 for a flat (of 8 six packs). There are other vendors here that sell a lot of flowers, hanging baskets, jams and produce (all at prices that are lower than the Elmwood Market). The neighborhood isn't exactly walking friendly nor are there any other attractions in the area but if you are looking to put in a moderate sized bed of veggies or flowers than it's worth the trip out here. read more

Lots of fresh fruits and veggies for cheap! A little bit off the beaten path, but worth it. When I went, there were only a few vendors (it was Sunday afternoon in the end of August), but they had an amazing variety of fruits and vegetables. I bought a good amount of produce including: green peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, avocados, bananas and peaches for $7! I was amazed at the savings. I would have paid at least twice that (if not more) at the grocery store. I would be interested to see this market on a busier weekend with more vendors. I will definitely be returning. read more

Best Farmers Market around. You get the real Farmers here that need this to survive. Honest people making a hard living and if you go late sometimes things are a little picked over but that is when deals can be made. They do not want to take it home... Awesome people some of the poorest people and I love giving them my money! read more
