I'm not a fan, I'm afraid. It pales in comparison to The Barras. There's a mix of permanent shops and market stalls and a lot of them sell very similar things - several pet shops, at least 2 butchers, a couple of soft furnishings, etc. The largely empty market stalls were a depressing site. The ones which were actually being used were selling mostly second hand war or local history books. Not a high point of Clitheroe. read more

Some claim to fame of 2nd smallest Norman keep in England or something equally exciting! The gardens are a nice place to have a wander, lots of facilities for kids and a great view of the town and bandstand from the top! read more

Ideal visit for all the family. Clitheroe is a lovely old town in the heart of gorgeous Lancashire countryside. The castle is in the middle of the town. PLenty of cafes and pubs in very easy walking distance. Parking easy in nearby car park. ( Museum may be under refurbishment ). Near the Famous Pendle Hill. read more

Visit once a month always enjoy our visit. Good parking, not much traffic. More stalls would be great, there is a meat stall that has fresh, cooked meats which are very nice, The cooked meats last 5 days in the fridge. Customer service is Excellent. The town is very nice without to much hustle, bustle. All cafe's VERY freindly, helpfull. Just one shop which we Will NOT go in again is the charity shop which has well known makes of clothing in. The customer services is not recommended. the staff only speak to people known in the area. I was ignored on two visits, WILL NEVER visit it again. The market stall holders are ALL five star. read more
