    2020 Kia Soul GT-Line

    I will never buy another car from Cloninger Ford of Morganton as long as Adam is GM. He is rude and has the personality of a fish! I own a Turo car rental business and have bought 7 cars from them this year plus recommended them to some friends but I bought a Kia from them and the motor went out 4 months later which I understand isn't their fault but since I am such a loyal customer, I thought they'd at least agree to help me with the $6000 bill on a $20,000 car. Instead he corrected me and said it had been 5 months since I bought the car. What kind of response is that??? I told him that's semantics and beside the point. He basically told me he didn't care if I ever bought another car from them. I like to do business with people that appreciate me giving them my hard earned money, if my business doesn't mean more than that, I will never be back. I just hate that some their amazing staff has to work for such a selfish know-it-all that is close minded and has antiquated morals. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Cloninger Ford of Morganton!

    Been using them for a year. Many "multi point inspections" Not once did they check my antifreeze. My truck froze up.

    Back in North Carolina I took my work truck to only a Ford Dealer for everything. Cloninger Ford to be exact. To make sure everything was always done right and 100% no matter the cost. I come to the Midwest and my truck freezes up. It's totally full of water. After spending thousands and multiple trips to Cloninger Ford for their "multi-point inspections", I find out on the side of the road and overheated that not once did they check my antifreeze and my truck freezes up, overheats and cost me a tow and $200 more to flush and replace antifreeze which could have also cost me a head gasket.

    Went to look at a 2023 charger, asked the price of the car. Grady said let me check with my…read moremanager. I told him not interested in buying today just wanted a price to shop around with. He said no problem. Made small talk until Carlton was available to get a price. Grady said we don't run credit reports until we make a deal. I told him good cause my credit is frozen anyway. Carlton finally comes over and first thing he says is your credit is frozen. I said yeah it is and you weren't supposed to be running it. He priced the used charger at $40,000 mrsp. That's right $40,000!!!! No way that car is worth that. Then said he could knock it down to $36,000. I walked. Got to thinking about it and looked online at their website and it was priced at $22,700. Same car and same vin number. A week later I get a text stating I've been denied a loan from American Credit Alliance due to credit being frozen. I never applied for a loan!! It was Team cdjr that sent in an application WITHOUT my consent! Not only did they price gouge the car, run credit without permission, shared my contact information,but also applied for a loan! Never going back and will warn everyone I can about how shady they are! Also, will be contacting the proper people about this is hopefully it doesn't happen to someone else. Run and don't look back!!!!

    After agreeing on an OTD price I sat down to sign the paperwork. One of the managers, Carlton…read moredecided to add in 6K worth of maintenance packages without saying anything. I was about to cancel the deal and then he tells me just wait 90 days and he will cancel. I live an hour away and my ride already left so reluctantly I went through with it. I get home and check the fine print and after 90 days it locks in. I come back and speak to another manager, Anthony who had me sign cancellation papers. After 3 weeks I call the underwriting company directly and they never even heard from the dealership. These guys are shady and they are liars. I eventually got everything cancelled and refunded on my own, but DO NOT trust them. After all that the vehicle I bought was a "certified preowned." 5 of the 125 items they are supposed to inspect were incomplete. Mismatching tires, loose lug nuts, and bone dry on washer fluid with a disconnected hose, among other things. I will not do business there again. Be careful if you do.

I feel they took complete advantage of that situation ; after I drove the car off the lot I found numerous of things wrong with the car (that I didn't get to see at the dealership bc it was late and they were trying to go home so we rushed to finish ) when I got home I noticed my air conditioning was not working ; my car would get stuck in park if I drove it then stopped ; my alternator was going out , and my brake safety switch was badass ; when they opened the next morning I called to let them know all the issues I was having they told me they would fix it ; I know the chances u take buying a used car but I at least expect to get a couple month out of it before I have to pay for repairs and if I would of had time to go over the car I probably would of never bought it but I was in desperate need of a car so I trusted them. Well after 2 months of my car going in and out of the shop for them to fix it finally I got it back ; my car would still get stuck in park sometimes but I was over fighting them about fixing it so I decided to let that go ... well last week I went to go do Christmas shopping and my car would not start now I just drove it to Walmart and it was running completely fine ; so I tried all my tricks thinking it was just stuck in park but it would not start so I had it towed to my house , the next day I contacted ezway and they told me to get it towed there and they would look over it so another 75 dollars out of pocket to get it to them ; finally the next day they called me back telling me the engine had blew and it was 2800 to fix , now me being in complete shock how in the world can the engine blow and I've had the car for 3 months and I still owe over 10000 , so I tried to talk to them about how they were gonna help me because I don't have 3000 dollars to drop in a car I just bought and still have carpayments on ; they said they were trying to help but the best they could do was me pay to fix it lol soo really I don't no how that helps especially since they knew I've been having nothing but issues since I bought the car . I was so fed up they were blaming me saying I negotiated the car and it my fault the engine blew . But I knew that wasn't the case so I decided to do my own research come to find out my engine has a recall on it and my car is still under Hyundais warranty ; sooo lucky Hyundai was willing to help they towed my car to their hickory location to check it out ; I called back to ezway asking them since now they NO it's not my fault how can they help we asked for a loaner car till Hyundai approved my rental since it takes 3 months to fix , they told us to come pick it up we drove up there pretty much to be insulted again they had a 2000 dodge van for us to drive ; for us to drive off the lot and break down ; after being stuck for an hour we finally got it running and to our house ; but now the van will not start , lucky Hyundai called us and set us up in a 2016 Hyundai to drive while my car gets fixed and they are putting a brand new engine in FREE of charge ! Thank god ! So we called ezway to come get their van that's broke down in my drive way but seeing how we live in a gated community and can not give our code out and we are both gone during the day we told them they had to come at either 7 am or 5 pm so we would be home ; but they said they can't do that so sherry said she was putting the car up for repo and charging us 250 dollars to come get it . They are really a joke they expect you to break your back to help them when they do nothing for you !!!! I will never buy another car from them and I'm glad the car I bought from them was a Hyundai bc they stand behind their cars and if it wasn't for them I would have a car with a blown engine and 10000 to pay it off ! I tried to reach out to the owner but I guess he's to busy bc Don is completely Unreachable ; I dealt with Rick from lincolnton (which he could not help said it was above his pay grade ) and josh from hickory which was complete rude telling me I was the reason my engine blew from neglecting the car and sherry from costumer service who said it was not their fault Hyundai made the car not them . So they are not taking any of the responsibilities for this it would of took them 2 mins to run my vin to check for recalls nope instead they sold me a car with a bad engine and wanted to charge me 3000 for a used engine !! Never again people , be wise GO to HYUNDAI because if they treat military like this they will treat anyone this way !
