3.5/5. A cool concept for sure! The space is very open with a good amount of seating. Prices are average. The drinks we had were good. We asked a few questions and the bartenders were a little snippy to us which was a little weird but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. I do wish that the music had a little more variety to get the vibes going but since l've only been once I would go again just to see if that holds true. When I go back I'll post an update.

Cute hidden gem tucked-away in the Neuhoff District. The cocktails are well-crafted, the atmosphere is intimate without feeling stuffy, and it's the kind of spot where you can actually enjoy a good conversation. Perfect for a relaxed drink with friends or a low-key date. Definitely worth finding if you're in the area.

Went to close company to enjoy some vibes and it did not disappoint! Ubered there as parking in Germantown is almost impossible on the weekends without paying as much as an uber. Close company is in the lower lower level surrounded by concrete with moody vibes for days. They offer plenty of seating both at the bar area and at booths as well as standing space with tables for drinks. I love a good bar where I feel I don't have to hold my drink the entire time! The menu is simple yet diverse offering their version of hot pockets for food as well as other small bites including a boozy banana pudding which I'll have to try next time! I only went for drinks and was happy with their selection of upscale cocktails as well as plenty of beer options. The bar was super busy and it was a bit difficult to order with the limited staff. The staff also automatically marked over 20% tip on my check which I didn't appreciate on a can of beer. I'll be back to try out the food and hoping it's a bit less busy!

This is a really cool bar and has a unique aesthetic, however it can be really difficult to find (you'll want to go up some stairs, down an alley, down the stairs in the back, and it is the only door on the bottom floor). The employees were all friendly and we ordered fairly quickly. We didn't get any food, but the pick up station in the wall looked awesome. The negative are its loud, everything seems to echo, it gets super packed but there are lots of seating options if you are lucky enough to score a spot, and I tried the pink flamingo mocktail and wasn't overly impressed. It just tasted like straight watermelon juice. It needed a little more to make it exciting - maybe some bubbles, some citrus, a spicy salted rim, a jalapeño - just something to take it from being so one dimensional.

I have been holding off writing this review until I gave Close Company another chance. The first time we went, it was packed. The vibes were great. We ended up just getting beers and hanging out. At one point we decided to dance (theres a DJ and small open area in front). We were told to stop dancing by the bouncer at the door closest. We stopped and he threw attitude "Do you understand what I am saying". We said yes sir and decided to leave. Upon leaving we looked around and there were multiple people dancing. The second time we went, it was less packed which was nice because you could see the beautiful architecture. I ordered their super martini. I love ford's gin, I love martinis, and anything savory. This was not drinkable. It came from a pre-made batch cocktail. I feel this three ingredient drink could have been made to order. I gave my cocktail away and didnt order another. My friends got the adventure gimlet. This was a very crisp cocktail. I thought it was unique and much better than my drink. I am unsure if this was a batch made cocktail or not. Either way, I have been very excited for this new bar, but I have been extremely disappointed not once but twice.

Wow! This place is definitely a vibe! I love the concept of this beautiful bar. Its beautifully designed and and the aesthetic makes you feel like you're not in Nashville. The bartender was super friendly. We just happened to walk in when they was having a soft opening nite. Definitely going to be my go to spot and places I recommend to everyone!!!

Super cool bar with awesome cocktails. We had their unique take on the Negroni and old fashion. Both VERY tasty- they had the complexity of flavor that you only get at a great craft cocktail bar (think The Fox). The space is very cool, down in a basement with an industrial vibe. It's a real scene, felt a bit like Mother's Ruin but the crowd was more varied in age. They have a small menu of fun sounding bar snacks- will check it out next time. Incredibly loud when we were there!

    Great architecture

When I walked in I, immediately, thought of Haven (RIP https://www.yelp.com/biz/haven-miami-beach-2). From the LED wall to the music to the drinks to the vibe... I didn't feel like I was in Nashville anymore. the back corner stands out and gives Middle Tennesseans something that's not readily available in this area. If you're in the mood for a little coastal cosmopolitanness (is that word? It's not a word), the back corner is about to be your new favorite place. The neighborhood gets things moving in the right direction. For as much as Germantown has (scenic streets, fancy high rises, coffee, good eats) it didn't have a nightlife destination. Putting one here makes a lot of sense. Building off the 5th & Taylor imprint, the back corner starts off fancy (but not pretentious) and builds to memorable. Upon entry, the first thing you notice is the LED wall and stage. With a changing display of electronic intoxication, you're drawn into a world far away from Lower Broad. If you can break your gaze away from the stage, you'll notice the upper and lower lounge seating. Intimate, cozy and a bit mysterious, the seating at the back corner lets you decide whether you want to be front & center or if you're rather sit back and take it all in. You can be as public or private as you'd like. If indoor seating isn't your thing, make your way outside to enjoy the fire pit and Germantown night sky. Just do us all a favor and refrain from smoking. Seeing cigarette butts along the patio or by (in??) the fire pit is not sexy and very off-brand. All the above said and noted, the back corner is not a huge space -- which is a plus and minus. It's a plus because it never becomes the cavernous mess of bass and desperation. The minus is crowds gonna crowd and with a lot of people, the space will be tight. I don't know how to fix that. I suppose a velvet rope and waitlist will keep crowds at bay but neither feels very Nashville. Hmm... Another minus (relating to the size) is that there's only one bar. One bar in a space this cool is a bit tight. I know the space behind the bar isn't huge but I would staff it with 3 bartenders at a time so as to keep up with the crowd. Because you're going to want to drink. A lot. The cocktail program at the back corner is a bit unusual for Nashville -- and very Miami. Expect rum, colors and a boozy punch. Actually, the menu could use a punch. Get on that, tbc. Re drink progression... start with the gimlet. It's pretty to look at and refreshing to drink. All the mixers, juices, etc. are made in house so you're getting quality fare. From there, hit the No. 4 and, then, the No. 2. If you're still upright, drink some water. Water? Who am I kidding? Cocktails! You're in Miami, [redacted]! Well, sorta. If you need some noshes, 5th & Taylor is serving up bites. Don't come here for dinner. Who eats food? Let the music and booze nourish your body. As perfect as the back corner is for DJ sets, live music (this *is* Nashville, after all) works as well. the back corner isn't the Downtown dance club people have wanted for a (looooong) while. But it is a welcome addition to the city's nightlife scene and, very possibly, you're new favorite place to go. Bienvenidos a Nashville.

An open kitchen with a wood-burning grill sends heat and aroma across the floor, so the whole space feels alive and warm at once. The staff matched the setting, gracious and sharp from hello to goodbye. The food kept pace. The sausage and cheddar biscuits earn every word of their reputation, we could have made a meal of them. We ate family style, which is the move here, passing everything so the whole table got a taste. Tara's halibut was the runaway favorite, our server called it his top pick on the menu and he nailed it. The mac and cheese and the brussels sprouts vanished fast, and the tri-tip with spaghetti squash and the delmonico rounded out a generous spread. My one small miss was the fried chicken, flavorful but a touch dry, the lone soft note of the night. The carrot cake ice cream cake split the table down the middle, though nobody walked away disappointed. Four stars, with only that dry chicken keeping it from a clean sweep.
