Always a smooth experience to slide into mothers. I love this breakfast bagel. Good ambiance. The music is usually fire. The rest of the menu is good too from the wings to the fries. Mozorella sticks. The best part is that the kitchen is usually open until 2 am so good quality food for a late night. Service is easy just order at the bar and the food is usually quick

Great spot love the whipped feta and patio only things we wish was the patio was open longer but they have great skinny margs and an upstairs too!

I like when bars have decent liquors for their wells.

Good strong drinks and good bar food. Gets crowded really fast so you probably won't get a seat.

Great bar in Germantown. It's got that hipster, casual vibe that is for the millennial crowd. They serve good food, solid salty waffle fries. They have a fun drink menu with dirty, innuendo-y names. Outdoor, patio seating. It's located in a quiet neighborhood so the patio is very enjoyable. Parking was easy, bearing in mind I was here on a Tuesday night. Service was good, you order at the bar for food and drink.

We came to Mother's Ruin late on a weeknight after a huge work event. We were able to find free street parking nearby. Inside was a vibe and had great music playing. We were tired from the evening so decided to sit in their lovely back patio. We were a group of five and found a table pretty quickly. We had to go inside to order at the bar and take an order number to our table. I decided to try their seasonal pumpkin spice slushie. It was like a pina colada with pumpkin. It was a wild drink, but I had fun with it. For the table we shared some pretty yummy wings. Everyone else got a drink they enjoyed. I'd come back!

We ran into this bar while exploring Germantown. It was packed on a Sunday afternoon. Apparently they had just finished a drag bunch, how fun! The pickle back shots were a solid option to get us started. I really liked the Adam not Larry cocktail. Food menu looked inviting but we were too full from breakfast. Music is cool and staff provided inviting vibes.

Feels like home in mothers! Always top tier service no matter who is new or not, food is easily the best bar food those fish tacos are insane, the burger? Always hits and that seasoned ketchup kicks it up! Love their cocktail rotation and funny cocktail names. Even after all these years , they swing the lights if i ask them too! A are for the people! I hope to one day get a tour of the basement- how mysterious!! Lol

Tucked into Germantown's buzzing food scene, Mother's Ruin Nashville is where elevated bar food meets bold flavors, late-night energy, and absolutely zero pretension. It's the kind of place where you expect to grab a drink and end up raving about the food for days. We started with the Thai Brussels Sprouts, and they were anything but an afterthought. Tossed with crunchy cashews, chickpeas, cilantro, and a punch of lime, the dish was spicy, tangy, and texturally perfect--an addictive start that raised the bar for everything that followed. The Chicken Caesar Salad hit the classic notes but stood out thanks to a generous dose of crispy breadcrumbs that added a welcome crunch to the creamy romaine-Parmesan mix. It's hearty, fresh, and exactly what a bar Caesar should be. Then came the Crispy Fish Tacos, which honestly stole the show. The fish was golden and flaky, topped with cool shredded slaw, spicy mayo, and a squeeze of lime all wrapped in warm La Chiquita flour tortillas. Flavor-packed and perfectly balanced--no extra sauce needed. But we couldn't skip the Mother's Smashburger--a messy, melty, salty masterpiece with white American cheese, crisp lettuce, pickles, onions, and a "secret sauce" that ties it all together. Served with Old Bay waffle fries and a spicy ketchup that deserves its own shoutout, it was hands-down one of the best bar burgers we've had in Nashville. Verdict: Chef Joe has really cultivated an amazing menu of elevated bar foods. Mother's Ruin isn't just a bar with food--it's a low-key culinary sleeper hit. Whether you're starting your night or ending it, this spot delivers food that's craveable, creative, and way better than it needs to be. Don't skip the fries.

Make sure you try the Harrison Chevy cocktail! It's a little bit spicy, but really good.

You can check out the calendar to see what they're playing for the night, the ambiance in there is great-definitely a mix of LA & New York. It's a mix crowd which I love. The manager & all the staff there are very welcoming, I normally reserve a table there when I go & the prices are very reasonable.

Nashville's lounge revolution continues. We've gotten Nashville's take on Brooklyn, LA and Vegas…read more the back corner is very Miami Beach. When I walked in I, immediately, thought of Haven (RIP https://www.yelp.com/biz/haven-miami-beach-2). From the LED wall to the music to the drinks to the vibe... I didn't feel like I was in Nashville anymore. the back corner stands out and gives Middle Tennesseans something that's not readily available in this area. If you're in the mood for a little coastal cosmopolitanness (is that word? It's not a word), the back corner is about to be your new favorite place. The neighborhood gets things moving in the right direction. For as much as Germantown has (scenic streets, fancy high rises, coffee, good eats) it didn't have a nightlife destination. Putting one here makes a lot of sense. Building off the 5th & Taylor imprint, the back corner starts off fancy (but not pretentious) and builds to memorable. Upon entry, the first thing you notice is the LED wall and stage. With a changing display of electronic intoxication, you're drawn into a world far away from Lower Broad. If you can break your gaze away from the stage, you'll notice the upper and lower lounge seating. Intimate, cozy and a bit mysterious, the seating at the back corner lets you decide whether you want to be front & center or if you're rather sit back and take it all in. You can be as public or private as you'd like. If indoor seating isn't your thing, make your way outside to enjoy the fire pit and Germantown night sky. Just do us all a favor and refrain from smoking. Seeing cigarette butts along the patio or by (in??) the fire pit is not sexy and very off-brand. All the above said and noted, the back corner is not a huge space -- which is a plus and minus. It's a plus because it never becomes the cavernous mess of bass and desperation. The minus is crowds gonna crowd and with a lot of people, the space will be tight. I don't know how to fix that. I suppose a velvet rope and waitlist will keep crowds at bay but neither feels very Nashville. Hmm... Another minus (relating to the size) is that there's only one bar. One bar in a space this cool is a bit tight. I know the space behind the bar isn't huge but I would staff it with 3 bartenders at a time so as to keep up with the crowd. Because you're going to want to drink. A lot. The cocktail program at the back corner is a bit unusual for Nashville -- and very Miami. Expect rum, colors and a boozy punch. Actually, the menu could use a punch. Get on that, tbc. Re drink progression... start with the gimlet. It's pretty to look at and refreshing to drink. All the mixers, juices, etc. are made in house so you're getting quality fare. From there, hit the No. 4 and, then, the No. 2. If you're still upright, drink some water. Water? Who am I kidding? Cocktails! You're in Miami, [redacted]! Well, sorta. If you need some noshes, 5th & Taylor is serving up bites. Don't come here for dinner. Who eats food? Let the music and booze nourish your body. As perfect as the back corner is for DJ sets, live music (this *is* Nashville, after all) works as well. the back corner isn't the Downtown dance club people have wanted for a (looooong) while. But it is a welcome addition to the city's nightlife scene and, very possibly, you're new favorite place to go. Bienvenidos a Nashville.

Parking was easy, with plenty of street parking nearby. We had a 5 p.m. reservation and arrived around 4:52. The doors were locked, and although an employee was standing just inside, we were asked to wait outside until exactly 5. Normally that wouldn't be a big deal, but it was about 95 degrees, I'm eight months pregnant, and we had three young kids with us. That wasn't a great first impression, and I think if reservations begin at 5, guests should be able to come inside a few minutes early. Once the doors opened, we were seated promptly. They had a high chair ready for our youngest, and our server was excellent throughout the meal. The restaurant has a trendy, upscale atmosphere, and while our oldest did great, I think it's a better fit for adults than families with very young children. One thing I really appreciated was that when we realized they only had glass cups available, our server found paper coffee cups for the kids. It was a small gesture that made the meal much less stressful. The sausage biscuits are still outstanding and easily my favorite item on the menu. The steak was good, but I wasn't impressed with the Cobb salad. Our kids shared the fried chicken and mac and cheese, and my husband ordered the pot roast. Our bill came to about $190 before tip. Overall, the meal was good, but it didn't feel like the special dining experience I remembered from previous visits. Between the rough start, the prices, and food that was good but not particularly memorable, I don't see us returning anytime soon. The service was kind, but for this price point, I expected more.
