The salesperson, Noelle, took time to understand our needs and offered options to not only meet them, but made suggestions that were better than imagined, all at a reasonable price. Then the installers, Zaire and Kwame, showed up on time, reviewed the plan with us again, completed the work in one day, and cleaned up any debris. The patching of the walls could be a little cleaner, but the quality of their work, professional manner, knowledge, and friendliness made an excellent impression. The initial consultation was good. The installation was very good. The follow up after the installation was horrendous. We tried to add a couple of shelves and an extra hanging rod as a change in November 2025. My wife followed up with the consultant Melissa to get this done. Starting November 21, 2025, to the present date (March 3, 2026), we have not heard anything back on this small change order. I called today to speak to the franchise location and got a message that the phone number listed here -- 770-418-2112 -- is no longer in service. read more

I would strongly caution anyone considering Closets by Design. We spent tens of thousands of dollars on what was supposed to be a premium, professional experience--and what we received instead was months of frustration, mistakes, and rework. They had to come back FIVE separate times to fix errors that should never have happened in the first place. Multiple components were measured and built incorrectly, resulting in pieces that were the wrong size more than once. Hardware that was supposed to match showed up in different colors, which is unacceptable at this price point. The quality control was shockingly poor. There were numerous scratches and nicks throughout the installation, and several units were not level, which caused visible alignment issues across drawers and cabinets. These are basic installation fundamentals--not nitpicks. To top it off, the installers left the space dirty. We had to vacuum ourselves and clean out drawers and cabinets because they were left full of debris and dust. Again--completely unacceptable after paying a premium. For a company that markets itself as custom, high-end, and turnkey, this experience was the opposite. Between the repeated mistakes, lack of attention to detail, and sheer number of return visits required to fix their own errors, this was a massive disappointment. I hate to leave a negative review because the sales representative and installation team were professional and courteous. However, Closets by Design failed to implement confirmed design changes and is not correcting errors. Six weeks before installation, a request was made to reduce the design by 1" to prevent overhang and to size hardware to match existing kitchen handles. The sales representative confirmed the updates. A follow-up call a few days before installation also confirmed the changes. On installation day, no changes had been made. The size was not reduced by 1" and now overhangs the wall. The drawer and cabinet fronts were drilled incorrectly, making the intended hardware unusable. The proposed solution has been to charge for replacement drawer and cabinet fronts, despite the error originating with Closets by Design. The overhang issue has not been addressed. Only minor warranty items are being handled. This was the third time I used Closets by Design. I will not be using them for any future jobs. I will also no longer be recommending them to friends and family. read more

Their installers stood on my dryer and damaged it during the install. I would never recommend them and will never consider them again when renovating my home. They did not inform me that they needed to stand on my dryer to do the install. They didn't ask to borrow one of my ladders, even though i was in the house the entire time. They didn't inform me that my dryer was damaged after they obviously warped my dryer. It is no longer usable. Installers name was Isaac. Some POS from local office called. We just purchased a house and the primary closet is three times smaller than what we need. I wanted to maximize the space that I did have. My designer Annette came in, listened to me and made her design to maximize my space. My installers Quadri and Deangelo were great! They arrived on time, worked efficiently and cleaned up their mess once they were done. My only complaint was that somehow, after my consultation and scheduling of my install appt, they still had me in the system like I was needing a consultation. I received about 5 different calls asking me to set up my appointment so I can get a new beautiful closet. LOL I'd use Closets by Design again and have already told family members about them! read more

WORST EXPERIENCE! I reached out to this company for a design consultation. It literally took so long I thought they would have 3D Design consulting but they had rulers and pencils and erasers which took forever. The price was ridiculously expensive. So I said let me reach out to some other companies. The design consultant told me if I do a 10% deposit to lock in the price, I can cancel in 7 days to receive a full refund. Cool, I sent the deposit & they requested a Zelle payment to Steve Parmer which was strange(SCAM). I ended up choosing California Closets($800 cheaper & did an amazing job). I called to get a refund as they said I should & David Massey said he would send me an email to confirm the refund. No email for a few days. I called & he said he would send it. Still no email. I called again and had to have him send it while I was on the phone. It has been from February to April & still no refund. I have been calling consistently and now they tell me I have to request the refund through Zelle. I did that and still no refund. David Massey is lazy & is never there, everyone I talk to says they are going to let the accounting department know but still nothing. They didn't even do the install and will not refund me & it has been a nightmare of me trying get my money back. I called my bank to let them handle it. The design seems to have a flaw, the design has blocked one of the window in the walk in closet, it looks awful;(. The designer agreed its a mistake, and promised she will have it fixed. CONSUMER WARNING: CLOSETS BY DESIGN ATLANTA I feel compelled to share this experience to protect other consumers from what we're currently dealing with as a result of doing business with your company. THE ISSUE: Yesterday (May 28th), Closets by Design (3165 Corners North Court, Peachtree Corners, Ga 30017) completed a garage installation. While two cabinets were built correctly, the third cabinet--specifically designed to store 96" rugs--was built at only 93" inches, rendering it completely useless for its intended purpose. After the fact, we were then told that the outer dimensions were 96" inches, but the inside dimensions are 93" inches. THE PROBLEM: During our design consultation, their designer drew plans clearly showing a 96" cabinet. We actually showed the designer the rugs that we wanted the cabinet for and measured them in her presence. The rugs measured 96" inches in length. We were never informed that inner dimensions of "96-inch cabinets" are actually 93" inches. This critical detail was omitted, and had we known, we would have requested a taller cabinet to ensure functionality. THEIR RESPONSE: Management is refusing to correct this issue, claiming that 96" orders are "always made at 93"--a policy we were never told about and that makes no logical sense from a customer perspective. RED FLAG: We've discovered they are NOT members of the Better Business Bureau, which may explain why they feel they can treat customers this way--there's no accountability or oversight. THE BOTTOM LINE: We paid for a functional storage solution and received a cabinet that cannot perform its basic intended function. The lack of transparency about actual dimensions and the refusal to address this clear discrepancy is unacceptable. MY WARNING TO YOU: Do Not do business with this company. We had 6 custom closets put in last month, and Sean Kelly's crew did a fantastic job. There was only one minor issue, and the Closets by Design Installation crew came right back out and got the issue resolved. The closets are amazing - literally tripled the space in our home. In particular the under the stairs 'closet' was more for storage, and had a ton of detail/craftsman work required. Honestly, only two of the rooms we had installed were 'straight forward'. All four 'complicated' rooms/closets came out great. They did an incredible job, and we'd definitely recommend them for any work you have done at your house. The designer assured me that my design was reflected in her inaccurate and oversimplified drawing, but it absolutely was not. The final result looked nothing like what we discussed. They send a designer that shows hangers in a closet but he designs it at 12" in some areas and 16" in others and argues this is standard! An empty hanger with his 18 inches so you can't even hang clothes on the hangers without them sticking out 4 inches to 8 inches. An experience designer knows you design for 24 inches in close closets and in tight spaces you can go down to 20 inches. You never designed less than that but these less than confident young designers they obviously higher cheaper so you want a product that they can't deliver and then The company unusable closets. Get your own designer if you're gonna consider this company, do not let them design for you. read more

I have never had a worse experience with a company before. The process was flawed from the very beginning and Closets By Design admits it. They know their designer/sales guy measured wrong, didn't take water lines into account and changed the design without my consent and told me via text message--so incredibly unprofessional. I got a sketch on graph paper and that is what they think is sufficient for a $6k install. Why don't they use CAD? I should have seen a rendering at the minimum. I paid for a product that was not what I designed, and they have offered no way of making it right. The design was so flawed the installers had to build a faux wall to make it work and in doing so took up 18" of precious space. I will never work with this company again and wish had read some of these reviews before committing to them; I highly discourage you from working with this company, Aaron and Nick in sales/install specifically. The only good part was the guys that actually installed the flawed design and did the best with what they had-- talk about making lemonade from lemons. If you are unwise enough to do project with these people (DON'T) make sure Aaron is not your sales person and make sure that CJ and Jonathon are you installers. My husband and I have been talking about getting custom closets as our walk in closet is not functional whatsoever. We finally jumped the gun and decided to call in for a consultation. We chose this specific company as my mother in law has used them twice and praises them for their work and workmanship. I submitted a request for a consultation online and within 10 mins, someone reached out to me to schedule an appointment. The day of the appointment, the designer arrived on time. The designer took measurements and was super nice since I kept on changing my mind how I want our closets to look. I was under the impression that we will get a computerized version of how our closets would look, but they do not provide that. She drew everything on a grid paper. We chose our finishing and hardwood and she mentioned that she would call us if for some reason, the materials we chose is out of stock. For booking them on the day of the consult, we were offered 40% plus an additional 5%, even though we've gotten emails and flyers that it's an additional 15% and not 5%. We did call at a later time if we could get the 15% but they were pretty much saying no to that. The day before our install, someone called me to confirm our appointment. I asked what time we should expect to installers and how long. I was advised they would arrive between 8-9 am and with the amount of work being done, should take about 7.5 hrs. Well, the installers didn't arrive until 9:40 am. They did give us a call when they arrived in the area because parking here can be tricky. The installers, Quadri, Marcus and Jabari were very professional and did everything within 4 hrs. Our prior closet had wire racks and they happily took the racks with them. They did scuff and dented a wall but we didn't make a big deal out of it - doubt they would actually fix it anyway. The installers did make some minor changes because the designer messed up and didn't take into consideration the height of a pull out drawer. The installers also moved the tie/belt hanger to make it more functional. Upon installation, the installers showed us the functionality of our new closet and we could not be happier with the way it looked! Once the guys left, someone from their office called us to ask if we were happy with the service the installers provided. The installers didn't leave until they got the word of approval from the office, which was a nice touch. Spent hours designing a closet, why does this take hours? Install day looks good, 14k later, it was never fully finished! To this day has Empty areas, was suppose to look like pics in booklet and wrap around entire closet as it is suppose to be congruent no walls showing around corners. I text designer, Whitney, she is very very rude to me basically calls me a liar and this is what I ordered. She is busy with other clients and will get to me later. Of course I don't hear from her, I try again, she is even more rude to me. So I said I no longer want to speak with her. No one has fixed this issue. So after spending 14k on a closet, I ended up having to go to Home Depot and buy wood slates and do it myself to fill in the gaps. Insane. Please stay away from this place. Far away!!! Does this look like 14k to you? They are lying and stating I refused to pay extra, so you think a person who pays 14k for a closet says no to a few more hundred? We had two closets installed, one of which is functional, but the other is damaged and unable to be used. According to the blueprint, there should have been ample space to open the center drawers, but this is not the case. We have a voicemail recording that confirms that the company, Closets by Design, was made aware of the issue and proposed a solution. However, this solution was never implemented and we were unable to inspect the work as we were occupied with video meetings for work. We contacted the company the same day (and multiple times a day for over a week) to inform them of the problem, but the manager is refusing to address the issue, which appears to be a result of both planning errors and installation mistakes. The design process with Rachel went well - she took careful measurements and created detailed plans over two meetings. However, everything went downhill from there. They caused scheduling delays that pushed my installation much later than planned (they dropped the ball). The installation team was nice but they did not install based on the design plan that was approved with Rachel. Hanging rods were all at wrong heights and shelves had only 2 inches of clearance, making most of the closet unusable as-is. Most concerning was learning from Rachel that according to company policy, installers just "put everything in" and clients are responsible for adjusting everything to match the design. Why should clients deal with the aftermath of poor installation? Why don't installers follow the design that I was required to sign off on? It took several hours to move things around in the closet to match the agreed upon design. You are paying for the materials, then you have to figure it out on your own. The number of items that I was told that the structure would be able to house is a actually double of what it can actually hold. The workers laid around in my room on the carpet scrolling on their phones for at least 2 hours total throughout the day. The job was supposed to take 3 to 4 hours. They arrived at 9 am and departed at 7 pm. No consideration for my schedule even after 5 pm. The leader decided to leave to go to the warehouse 50 minutes away without saying anything to me at 4:30 pm in Atlanta rush hour and left his worker here in my house doing nothing. Listened to our ideas and was able to accomplish design that made both my husband and I happy. I feel like my closet and pantry are something you would see in a celebrity's home. It's unbelievable to see in MY home everyday!! The installation was professional and quick as well. I thought the installers took care not to make a mess and cleaned up if they did. I haven't noticed and imperfections with the materials but am happy to know that there is a 7yr warranty included on the materials. So that gives a lot of peace of mind. I waited over a month for an estimater/designer to come out. And over another month for them to install my small cabinet project. When the designer came out the first red flag was that she used a quadrille pad to sketch out the system. I dismissed that, because she was a professional and CBD produced professional looking installations. At least, their online galley presented that impression. But to be honest, her sketch wasn't something I could make heads or tails of in terms of how the end result would look. It was literally a drawing of an unattached shelf and a desk counter. Based on our conversation however, and the fact that we initially wanted a U shaped counter but settled for a L shape, I thought we were on the same page. What I ended up with was an L shaped counter that stopped abruptly in front of the shelves. Nothing in their gallery showed anything so unprofessional looking. My reason for not making it a DIY project was to avoid that haphazard appearance. But that's what I paid for. Despite being very responsive when the project was not installed, I've been chasing them down via email and phone calls to get then to rectifiy the situation. I even asked for a quote of the cost if the counter extended to the wall and I would pay the difference between what I received vs what I wanted. When I called again to follow up, I had to again explain situation from beginning to end. Meanwhile, I am not using the space because I don't want to risk anything happening in that space while I try to get the issue resolved. Update: I am now being told the installation was done to specification. And to get what I initially discussed and thought I was getting, I would have to pay. I disagree that the installation was to my specification or to the sketched specs. There was no obtrusive counter support & the counter didn't end abruptly in front of the ledge from what I could make of the sketch. Ironically, I was told their pencil & paper approach was so they could be extremely detailed. In reality it was lacking. It makes me believe they use this method to leave room for error & ambiguity. If you use this company be sure to have pictures of what you want and draw your own "schematics" as they call it. Don't simply trust that a company called Closets by Design will design a custom closet. They will fit the same easy pre-cut peices into your space that can be bought from home depot. And they do the job that any decent DIYer could do. Paying for the convenience of having someone else do it is not worth it, if it's not done right. read more

NOT WORTH THE NIGHTMARE INSTALLATION. I had a terrible experience with Closets by Design and spent over $10,000.00. On the day of installation, they forgot our pantry and thankfully I saved all the documents because they denied I ordered it. I had to resend the receipts twice to the office to prove what I had purchased, they didn't come the next day to install the pantry as promised. We had to have our kitchen in disarray until they finally came the 3rd day! The first installer to enter my home wore booties on his shoes. I assumed the remaining workers would do the same so I did not put anything down to protect my childrens' nursery carpet or my master bedroom carpet. Unfortunately, the workers did not wear booties or cover the carpets where they were walking during the install. All day, they walked on our bedroom rugs and made them dirty and grimy. When I called to complain, I was told they should have worn shoe coverings for the install. They asked for photos of my carpets which I sent. I had to have the carpets professionally cleaned by Stanley Steamer the next day costing $312. Dee McCart said to send her the receipt and she would have it reimbursed. 2 weeks go by and I follow-up today - She denies her promise and says it is not her department. ***Do not deal with this company. They do not follow professional standards for working in your home and you have to go in circles to get them to do their basic job. Not worth the money or hassle! I was going to have our garage closets done but I will definitely be using another company. RUN! read more

I had two small areas that had zero closets and I always thought they couldnt even have closets built in because the area is small and bad shaped. However, this company def. installed two identical closets in my rooms and they look amazing!! Rose the designer was great measuring things right and working with my budget most of all. The installers Morrey and Q were very skilled and cared about my concerns each and every minute of the installation. I love that they were both installed in the same day !! The drawers are super deep and the material is strong and they stand very firm. I can tell the material they choose is the very best as well. I paid $3000 for a closet I can't use unless I go to Home Depot and buy closet rods because the rods they put in are at least 6ft high and I'm 5'4 this is insane. I am going to write a letter to the BBB and explain my dissatisfaction with this company. David from Closet by design called me I asked what 3 rods would cost me , he called himself doing me a favor saying the rods normally would run$300 plus but for me it would be $200 plus. That in itself was crazy. I do not recommend this company they don't give refunds and you have to pay the balance before the installers begin the work. Do not trust these people do not use their company in my experience with them they robbed me of my money and left me with their product I can't use. read more
