Daniel's Floors exceeded my every expectation by going the extra mile. I had new hardwoods feathered into existing hardwoods and the floors refinished. After seeing the process start to unfold, I could tell they were the pinnacle of professionalism and I could trust that everything I could ever dream of would be handled expertly without having to follow behind their every footstep. Laura is extremely personable and knowledgeable. She was able to come out and give me an estimate the same day I called. Thereafter, Daniel mixed the elaborate custom stain samples I had in mind and answered any of my questions. I asked for the shoe molding to be stained to match the floors, cable wiring holes to be repaired, to remove a threshold between doors, and mentioned a flush-mount floor vent though I wasn't sure if it came in the size I needed. Naturally from other remodeling experiences I asked, "Do you need to write this down or anything?" He said, "No, I will remember" and he did, Daniel remembered every little nuance we spoke about and completed each of the things I requested flawlessly. The entire process took less than a week (and without any dust!). To my surprise, they made me a custom size flush-mount floor vent to fit the space and took tremendous care working around appliances. I just purchased my first home. I wanted some upscale looking flooring but had other updates to make as well, so my budget was somewhat limited. I am the type of person who does a lot of research before investing money. I visited a lot of flooring stores near my new home. Most of these flooring stores are all about carpet, with a few hardwood sample stands in the back. They pretty much all have the same or similar floors. I was pleasantly surprised when I got to Daniels Floors. The entire place has nothing but wood flooring and laminates. They had floors there that were unlike anything I had ever seen before. I took some samples home and then they came out an prepared a quote the next day. I had the floor delivered the following day and two days later it was installed. The floor looks like it is much more expensive than it actually was. My mom lectured me about being extravagant and I had to show here the invoice to calm her down. I really like the way they help you narrow down your options so that the decision isn't overwhelming. I get nothing but compliments on my home. We recently had every floor in our~3100 SF home replaced --except our bathrooms and kitchen. This required every piece of furniture to be moved several times. This could have been entirely chaotic, but, it was not, because it was done with well-thought out coordination and utmost professionalism. Daniel's Floors is a husband and wife owned company. They are knowledgeable, professional, deliver what they promise and, in addition, they are great people. Laura typically is the one who meets to discuss what the clients wants, provides professional information about the various options, offers suggestions if asked. She is also the one who measures and provides the estimate. It did not take me long to recognize that she knows what she is talking about- much more so than others I had met with for estimates. Daniel's Floors delivered as promised. They completed the job within the estimated time frame, they cleaned up every day and made sure we always had a pathway to still live and function in our home. I highly recommend Daniels Floors for hardwood install. Here's why: 1) family owned and operated, 2) professional (didn't ask for money upfront other than cost of wood, did not ask for a penny of labor cost until job was completely finished), 3) the quality of the work is fabulous, 4) very reasonably priced (other companies tried to charge us wayyyyyy more for the same wood and labor), 5) we've been burned before by other contractors so we were really nervous about using a company we had never heard of. We know what it's like to be pay a ton of money and not get good work. All this to say, you don't have to worry about this with Daniels. They are fair, honest, and reasonable. They do exceptional work. 6) They told us upfront the cost and stuck to it, 7) They also alerted us upfront to potential issues we might have and provided cost estimates upfront in case those issues did in fact arise. Daniels Flooring did an excellent job assisting us with picking out and installing new hard woods in our bedrooms as well as refinishing our current hardwoods to match in our 1,408 home in Old Fourth Ward. We had several quotes from other companies and none of them seemed comfortable with refinishing our current hardwoods. Daniels handled this with ease, matching the two woods quite beautiful and our home looks like a new home. Laura was easy to work with and extremely knowledgeable. In fact, during quoting, she gave us quite a few preventative maintenance tips to take even if we had decided not to go with them. The guys were all extremely courteous and nice, making sure they kept the place clean during the installation and they moved all of our furniture without any damage. If there is anything close to "Perfect" you will find it with Daniels Flooring. I had a major project for installation of wood flooring. This included living room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom, powder room and hallway connecting all. I am more than satisfied. As with any project you may expect glitches, any glitches that came up through the project we were able to work through them satisfactorily. Daniels Flooring was readily available after the completion of the project returning for minor adjustments. I appreciate their professionalism attention to detail and cleanliness. One of the few contractors that I have had the actual PLEASURE to do business with! They were always in contact and I was never left guessing what to expect. Even months after the installation when I had questions, they were kind enough to spend time educating me and give me advice on upkeep, etc. As a tip to hardwood first-timers: if you are getting hardwood installed in the kitchen; remove all dishes and appliances and put them elsewhere in the house. Even though all was covered with plastic sheeting, there's just no way to keep all the dust out of the cabinets. That was my own rookie mistake though. They are very upfront and competitive with their pricing. They installed engineered flooring in my bonus room and I could not have been more pleased! The crew was very respectful, neat, and fast.
