I am questioning they're buy back process. They said my clothes was from the junior section and it needed to be for older women (I'm 30 y.o.). I have used second hand stores to get rid some of the handbags I no longer used. I went into this location with about 8 bags. Out of the 8 they only offered me an offer in three, Which I can respect. My issue is the way the young associate provided the service. When I came back to hear my "offer" she asked me, "what do you want" when I approached the counter. I informed her I was there to pick up. She reviewed my order and I inquired on the low offer. She then proceeded to state, if you don't want it then we won't offer anything. Ultimately the issue is how she spoke to me in a condensing manner. Definitely will not be going back. read more

I used to love shopping here the customer service WAS great. But lately with what looks like to be all new staff, they display poor customer service and make it difficult to want to continue to shop here. When I came in to sell just 4 items, the girl was not at all welcoming and was short and unpleasant when talking to. She seemed annoyed to be there. She took my clothes and let me know if would be 15-20 minutes. I said okay no problem, and was waiting for her to tell me about the raffle promotion that was posted on Instagram. I stood there waiting like an idiot before she said "That's it, you can go now". As soon as I walked out the store I received a text message that my clothes were ready. To avoiding dealing with her again I waited 5 minutes before returning to the store and was greeted by another employee who was much more polite than who I originally spoke to. I wasted my time all for 3 dollars and no raffle ticket. Can't say I'm motivated to come back. Do better and hire employees who know what customer service is. read more

It's a shame to leave on such a negative review, because I have had a few good experiences here. I'm not one to leave a bad review unless it's a situation that truly makes me feel bad as a customer. My experience with clothes mentor today made me feel pretty crappy so I decided to share. I went in right around opening to sell two big bins of really nice name brand clothes (lululemon, free people, madewell, Steve Madden, Nike). The girl checked me in and let me know a couple buys were ahead of me and it would be a couple hours. I decided to wait around because how long could 3 buys take? I walked around the neighbor shops and came back and walked around clothes mentor. After 2 hours had passed I decided to check in to ask on the progress of my buy. Well. This is where it all went down hill. First off, the store wasn't busy at all. It was me and maybe one other shopper. It was a rainy and gloomy day and no one was out. The worker girl was sitting around talking to her coworkers and no one was doing anything busy. I figured with it being such a slow day and them having time to chat they must be done with my buy. The associate that helped me looked up my name and told me there were two in front of me. That's odd..there were two in front of me when I came....i asked her how many had they done in the two hours I just waited. She snootily stated that buys aren't their priority and they would get to it when they could. I told her I had been told a couple hours and was wondering how much longer I should wait. She once again with her nose turned up told me there were buys ahead of mine from yesterday and it would be at LEAST another hour. At this point I decided to leave. As I walked out, I heard her speaking ill of me with her other coworkers. Made me feel really crappy that these people care more about gossiping and standing around than helping out a seller. So I leave. I get a text 3 hours later (5 hours total) that my buy is ready. At this point I've already driven the 30 min home so I wait a little while to go back. I went to pick up my buy in the evening and they offer me $2 for one item. Literally not even worth my gas. I mostly feel that they didn't even look through my items because of our interaction earlier that day. I felt like I didn't matter, and it was really disappointing to see a bunch of snooty girls standing around talking trash about customers and having a good experience be the least of their worries. I buy here at least every 2 - 3 weeks. I always find something that I love. I know a lot of people have written poor reviews based on how much they give you when you sell stuff here. They don't give you a lot because they are a FOR PROFIT business! They need to make money...to pay employees, to rent their space, to keep the lights on. They're prices on items are fantastic, so they're not going to pay you what they sell your items for, or even close to it. Since I would normally drop my clothes off at Savers or Goodwill, I consider the store credit I get a bonus. As for their staff and their friendliness, etc, I've been there DOZENS of times over the past year and they've always been friendly and welcoming. Don't waste your time. I went here to grab some sunglasses because the line at Ross was too long upon reopening due to Covid 19. I went into this place instead. No greeting, no hello, just a look at me. Ok I let that go, moved on to the fixture of glasses and I asked an associate to open the locked one which she did and I proceeded to ask her if they were unisex, she answered politely. She then asked my name so she could hold them at the counter for me (they cost $6) and I asked her if they need to hold everything or just the $6 glasses? And before she could answer another lady who I assumed is the manager, came out of no where and said that's just our policy! I said, I'm comparing the glasses. Like shoppers do! I was planning on buying more than one pair and was comparing the sizes because I was buying them for a male and one for me. Then once I explained I was comparing them and still deciding which ones to get, they let me keep the glasses and continue my business. I had to offer to exchange my keys (a valuable asset) to make her fee comfortable enough to let me walk around with $6 glasses before she felt comfortable enough to let me continue to have them in my hands. Wow. I don't know what to think about this place but I surely won't be here again. I have "shopped" in here a few times. Brought some clothes in recently to sell. Out my basket they chose 5 items and offered $11!! There were clothes in my basket with tags still on it. They passed up a $135 Michael Kors dress?!? The girl said they only take current styles in good shape. Walking through the store I saw some shirts from a store that closed 4 years ago and clothes that had cat/dog hair on them and someone's dirty old gym shoes. I went to take some brand new never worn shoes in order to make room in my closet. A couple of them being a high end brand name that is listed on their website as being in NEED of. So I get the text letting me know that they are ready to give me my estimate or to give me my stuff back. I go back in and Im told $26. Im like WHAT?! is that for all 4 pair of shoes? Yes that was. So I took one of the pair of shoes back with me and then I asked the store employee, Now how much do I get? She said $21. What a rip off!! Dont take your items here because its not worth the time. Might as well drive to Buffalo Exchange or My sisters closet or post the stuff online to sell. They need to take the time to clean the items in the store with some disinfecting wipes and drop their prices on the brand name purses because people can go to Ross and get a better deal. read more

The staff was different but the First Lady who attended me was very friendly & fast.. but the other two girls were laughing while checking my clothes which made me uncomfortable because I couldn't tell if they were laughing at my clothes or for another reason ... out of all my items they liked 3 MISS ME jeans which they offered $23 for all 3... as they looked through my stuff I "shopped" around looking to see if they already had that brand.. I found two miss me jeans , one was brand new with tag of $98 but was sold for $22 the other one was also for $22 If they offer me $23 for 3 jeans and sell them for $22 EACH.. I really wanted to like this place. I go to resale shops for my kids and can sometimes find great brands at decent prices so, I was very hopeful. The shoes are a little beat down and the prices are mediocre. Jeans average $8-15, but I can go into Ross and get brand new jeans for $8-$15. The prices are low but not low enough for clothes someone has already squeezed their butt into. They have designer bags too, but they are charging $50-$70 for an out of season Coach bag at the end of its rope when you can go to the outlets at Tanger and get a Coach / MK bag off the rack for the same price if not less. I have one star for them honoring a military discount and another star for their unique items. I found a cute day to night dress that I could wear strait from the office to happy hour. Ross or Marshals can't offer that originality for the most part. I would say stop in and at least have a look around, but keep your options in mind. read more

Awesome store! All of the girls there are so friendly and outgoing. I like to sell my clothes here frequently because I get some cash and of course some store credit for my used clothes I will never wear again! I've sold my Coach and Michael Kors purses there and they gave me 50% of what they would sell it in retail which I think is great for a resale store. I honestly love shopping at resale store and if you were to walk into this one you wouldn't think anything was brought in by customers! Awesome place with awesome people! Workers are extremely picky while they have OVER THE TOP DIGUSTING/ UGLY items out on display but refuse to take my items with tags such as Nike shoes , Jordan's , Adidas, Vans , Tommy H., never worn heels/ flats, etc..... In my opinion , as a consignment store you should not be excessively picky and biased. Without customers bringing items in they would not have a business Oh and it stinks in there. If you are looking to sell items this is not the place for you. You will get much more money selling on Facebook or other websites. They wanted to give me $4 for high end leather boots that were practically brand new, yet they sell similar pairs for $20+ in worse condition. If you are looking to buy you might find a good deal, but you'll have to really dig. Most stuff is priced the same as a Ross or Tj maxx which doesn't really make sense to me. I think if you want to buy used clothing you'll find better deal for the same items at goodwill or buffalo exchange. read more

If you are looking for used clothes that are nicer brands at a good price, and have the patience to dig, this is a great place to go. Despite being packed with people the day that I was there, they did seem to stay pretty on top of things in terms of keeping sizes and categories together. Also, most of the employees that a came into contact with were very polite and friendly and pleasant. Those are the pros. Now for the cons. My main reason for going to Clothes Mentor was to sell some items. We are downsizing, so it was time to face my clothing addiction. I have tons of business casual stuff from a couple of years ago when I had to dress up every day for work. I also have far more casual, everyday stuff than I actually need. Everything that I set aside to take to CM was a brand name (mostly Express, Banana Republic, Gap, and Old Navy), and in my opinion, in perfect condition. If it had pills, a snag, any discoloration, stretch, or general signs of wear (i.e., if it didn't look brand new), it went into the Goodwill pile. So, I walk in and ask if they were doing consignments today. The girl behind the counter said they were, and told me it would be 20 minutes if I wanted to look around the store for a bit. I started browsing the racks (it was my first time in there), and was surprised at the quality of some of the items. Some of the jewelry was discolored, purses had stitching and strings coming loose where you could see threads, and several pairs of shoes had significant scuffing and obvious wear. There were also several shirts that I picked up that were faded, and many others that had pilling. It seems that there are some brands (Coach, MK...), that they will take regardless of what condition they are in, because they know there are people who will buy it for the label. Then, the fitting room situation was a bit of a fiasco. There was a huge line, and you were supposed to write your name on a list to be called for your turn in the fitting room. The problem is, there wasn't a sign or anything stating this, so people were getting frustrated because they would wait in the line, get to the front, find out they had waited for nothing, get their name on the list, and have to start over. After meandering and trying on and basically killing time for an hour, I went back to the front to see where they were with my things, since they had said 20 minutes. She checks her paper and says "Your approximate wait time is just over 3 hours". 3 hours???!!!! I was told 20 minutes an hour ago! Apparently, they don't have a person who is designated as processing intakes. Whenever they are slow enough that they don't need all of the registers open or have constant restocking from the dressing room, they have someone do that. Since they were busy that afternoon, they didn't expect to have anyone working on intakes for at least 3 hours. And you know, I can understand that, but when you tell someone 20 minutes and know they are in the store waiting, and that estimate suddenly goes to 4 hours (my hour plus 3 more), YOU TELL THEM. I told them I would come back before close that evening. So, I return later. I honestly cannot understand the rhyme or reason of what they accept and what they don't. Everything I brought in was on their list of brands, everything in great shape, the absolute oldest items were 3 years, but many were from the past year or so. They did accept several items (of course at bottom dollar, because they are going to turn around and sell it at $10 for a profit, but that's what you expect to get at these types of places), but said that others were "too worn" or "just wouldn't sell well in our store." I was pretty perplexed at how something that looked practically new could be "too worn" when there were shoes on the racks that were scuffed and stained and beat up, and shirts that had clearly been washed too many times and were pilled and discolored. But again, there didn't really seem to be any rhyme or reason. For example, my bag had 2 dresses in it, both from Express, bought on the same day, both worn one time. They were nearly identical, except for slightly different necklines. One was yellow, one was orange. They took the yellow one and gave me back the orange one. I don't think you can predict if they will take your items or not, regardless of brand or condition. Unless you have some Coach or MK shoes, then you are good! :) read more

I was in there recently and I felt bad for the girls who work here. They were very polite, greeted me as I came in. As I walked past the restroom there was an employee in there plunging the toilet! She had no gloves on and was really struggling physically. She washed her hands with the hand soap on the bathroom counter and came out to assist. Very unsanitary and again I felt bad these girls are having to plunge toilets. This isn't the first time I've been in this store and have seen toilet issues. Been to this store twice. First time was to check out selection. Didn't really find anything too great or worth buying for myself or my 2 daughters. Second time was to sell... Now that was a huge joke! Had almost new and new high end clothing and shoes and after an hour of waiting they only offered to buy one shirt.. Now the whole time I was waiting I was checking out the clothing they had. I can tell you they had no idea what to buy and sale. Joke..just a joke..
