When they first opened I took a basket of clothes to sell. Many of my items still had tags on them Christopher Banks sweaters, new in box shoes, even an Ann Taylor little black dress with tags etc. Even though the Ann Taylor label was outdated, a little black dress never goes out of style and was never worn. Everything I brought in was rejected. The associates are rude and arrogant. A friend took shoes and purses there on another day and she told me all her items were rejected as well. Since this was such an awful experience, I rarely shop there. To add insult to injury, many items they do have are of inferior quality and out of style. They accepted these items and not mine. They are always looking to hire and I don't expect this store to last. Word of advice to corporate - if you start off insulting customers, don't expect them to come back. Word of mouth travels especially with bad experiences. My friend won't go back there either. read more

I love this store, but the employees are not very friendly. I was there today browsing and hoping to buy something using my 15% birthday reward. Don't get me wrong, I do not like when employees follow you around and constantly bug you, but not once did they say hello or ask me of I needed anything, yet when a thin girl walked in she was greeted with a cheerful hi, how are you, I do believe because I'm on the fuller figure side that I was ignored. Granted the person was not one of the normal staff, I believe he was filling in from Plato's Closet, but there were also ladies working there that not once asked me if I needed help or acknowledged I was there. Honestly, it happens every time I go in the store. It's not uncommon for retail stores to only address certain people and let other ones hang, but it's just a shame because I really love the store. Also I may add, I heard an employee talking about how she sprays on a certain perfume in the store that they are trying to sell, how can you use a product that you have up for sale, so if someone does buy it, they are getting cheated out of product? I heard other bits of conversation that I found disturbing too, but I wont get into it. Please try to be nicer to your customers, no matter what they look like. read more

I've gone twice now to sell clothing, shoes and designer handbags. Most of my items were rejected the first time. I was paid a very insulting amount for the few pieces they did accept. I was paid a measly $40 for about 11 or 12 clothing items 2 ThirtyOne bags and 4 pairs of shoes. I went there recently for my second try. While waiting for them to process my items I noticed the dress shoes they bought from me were on the sales floor. The price on the shoes was for half the amount they took for my whole basket they bought from me. They are very unfair with the price quotes. Plus they're always posting on Facebook about fantastic designer handbags they have for sale. I've tried to sell my nearly new Coach and Michael Kors bags. They declined to buy stating too much wear. My bags were in better condition than what they have on their sales floor. I don't know how they come up with what is acceptable wear and the value of items but I will never do business with this company again. read more

They are open until 8pm, I got there at 7:40pm to sell clothing. I only had 5 dresses. I was immediately told they were closing. When I said they were open until 8 I was told, after not even looking at me, and very rudely, they don't look at buying after 7pm. When I left I pointed out it does not say anywhere that they stop buying at 7pm. The woman was already counting money in the drawer and they were running the vacuum. They clearly just did not want my business. I can only post if I give a star rating which they clearly don't deserve more than a 0! read more

I love this store, but sometimes the employees aren't very personable. I wanted to get a purse, walked up to the counter (they have to be unlocked), one associate just looked at me and turned her head, she actually has been the most unfriendliness employee I've encountered so far there, she isn't horrible, but could use some customer service skills. That being said, I still love the store and will continue to go, just hope next time, I don't feel like such a bother. I've never sold to them and probably won't, because I don't want to get pennies back on clothes/bags, I've spend hundreds on. read more

I was not pleased at all with this place. Let's first talk about the staff. They kept ignoring me and carrying on conversations between themselves planning one of the girls bday celebrations. Then the girl took forever to go through my clothes and said that a lot of it was out of date bc they only accept two years or less. I know for a fact that a lot of the clothes in that bag were a year or less. She then proceeded to take all of my dresses which were over 2+ years. I was just very annoyed by the fact that some of my stuff was in pristine condition and then when you walk around the store you see some very shabby clothes and bags. Then to top of my experience after waiting for 40 minutes for the girl to go through my bags because she was busy pausing and talking to the other employees the whole time. Finally they offered me a disgusting low amount for my clothes so I took them all to another place to exchange. The other exchange place took half the clothes that clothes mentor was going to take (because they only take current season) then offered me double and said that all of the other stuff wasn't great shape and if they were taking for that season they would've taken it too. Needless to say I was not impressed at all by this place or their staff. The staff needs some serious training in customer service. read more

Not only is their customer service way below average, the wait time has been 30 - 45 minutes the last three trips I've made there. The kicker is that they only wanted to buy $8.50 worth of stuff (Ann Taylor flats + a Banana Republic blouse). So you make your customers wait that long for that little amount of money? No thanks. Not to mention, I had a Michael Kors jacket, J Crew sweaters and Lucky Brand jeans in my basket... they say online they take those brands but wouldn't take those brands of mine, when they were in GREAT condition. Some of their clothes are okay, and the prices are fair, but consigning here is terrible. They pay you next to nothing for designer brands. I brought in two Kate Spade bags in almost perfect condition with just a few minor scratches and a Tory burch wallet that looked brand new. They wanted to give me $20 a piece for each of these, which is a joke. I told them no and sold them on postmark for much more and what they were actually worth. I know they need to make a profit, but if you want a profit, I suggest selling elsewhere. They give you less than half of what they are going to sell if for. These were $375 bags! It was insulting to be offered that low of an amount. read more

Will most certainly never be back here. I've been here so much to buy, but this was my first time selling and had the worst time. A few months ago I had bought two pairs of dress pants and many tops at this location. They sat in my closet for that entire time, until I realized I wouldn't ever be wearing them. So I went to Clothes Mentor to sell them back. Along with some other pairs of shoes. ( Calvin Klein, Loft, etc.) After about ten minutes, my things were done. And the store associate told me that they wouldn't be buying ANY of my things. Even though they were essentially being returned. In short, they want things that are practically brand new and they want to give you not even 25% of what you spent on the hardly used item. DO NOT SELL YOUR ITEMS HERE. This store makes an insane amount of money on the items that they buy from you for next to nothing. The trip out here was a complete waste of time. I'll be sure to spread the word to my coworkers and friends not to shop here. read more

I have to agree with the reviewers on the poor service at this place. I had the same experience with 2 beautiful Talbot's jackets, which were never worn. However, I was told they were "old" due to their tags. As they looked at my stuff, I browsed. I was not very impressed with the cloths, they were wrinkled and actually the place smelled like old perfume. The handbag selection looked nice -- but I have to admit the prices seemed high for consignment. I use a consignment in the North Hills and it is very classy (it is also privately owned). I felt many of the cloths were not in style, and my classic Talbot's jackets had more than some of their jackets in the store. I would not recommend this place--I agree with Victoria K., save your time, go somewhere else! read more

I love this store! I have purchased and traded many designer handbags. I now own 3 Coach leather purses that cost less than $50 each. On previous shopping trips I have bought a cashmere Cache sweater for $15; a Cache butter cream leather coat for $30; Via Spiga leather boots that retail for $250 purchased for $35. It is also an excellent place to get gowns and semi formal dresses for holidays and cruises. I don't want to spend over $100 for holiday dresses that I will only wear once a year. Also jewelry accessories are a good bargain as well. read more
