We donated items to Second Harvest in Sharpsburg while cleaning out a relative's home. Everything about Second Harvest was great. When we dropped items off on 6 or 7 occasions, the workers were helpful and friendly. The off-street parking was convenient although sometimes busy. Drop-off hours are somewhat limited (at this writing, 9-noon Mon, Tue, Thurs, and Fri), but we liked the place and arranged our schedule accordingly. We also had some larger items to donate, and checked the Second Harvest website before assembling donations in the garage. It was easy to go online and book a Second Harvest vehicle to come to the address. This service did cost money, but it was far less expensive than any other non-profit we tried. Online payment has an option to reschedule or cancel. The two men who visited the house were friendly, efficient, and strong. They accepted most of our items, and explained why they could not take certain things (all non-profits have similar rules, so this was understandable). Our goals were to help our neighbors, and keep useful and beautiful things out of landfills. I felt very comfortable donating to Second Harvest---everything from cutlery and clothing to a nice desk. I have faith that these items will go on to people who want and need them. read more

Every time I visit the store, I find at least one treasure and usually more at an incredible price. These items are often things I wasn't intending to buy, but suit my needs, interests, or overall desire to be well dressed with a comfortable home. The pricing scheme of increasing discounts is especially appealing. The layout allows for easy access to all sections and merchandise. It is notable that the clothing is all displayed in an orderly fashion, grouped by size and type with many of the highest discounted items and more exclusive pieces segregated for quick review. The staff is always available and willing to be of help. In my opinion, this is the best "thrift store" anywhere, and I'm an avid thrifter! read more

Excellent little thrift shop here in the Sharpsburg/Aspinwall area! Nice selection of shirts/shoes and jeans for the low! Oh, and depending on the day, they have lots of discounts on already inexpensive items! I love thrifting, and this store is definitely a gem! Cheers! :) read more

This so called thrift store is way overpriced. I can but similar things at other thrift stores in the are at least half the price. $13 for a pair of not designer jeans. I don't think so . Get a clue. We are all not resellers. People shop aT thrift stores because they cannot afford retail prices but you seem to think it's ok to charge $ 99 for 3 old barstools. My BF and I went to Second Harvest this past Friday The shop is clean and well organized. The multiple displays throughout the shop are very well thought out! Whoever does the seasonal displays must be a professional! Kudos to you! BF and I found a WHO concert shirt, several old vinyl records, he collects them and a couple other odds n ends. I found the pricing a bit high on the clothing, but I didn't see the color discounts marquee near the front door. Next time I'll keep that in mind while I go on the hunt!! read more

The store was well stocked with an outstanding selection of quality, gently used clothing items at very affordable prices. The atmosphere is attractive and the staff friendly. First few times I came here , prices were reasonable . Last time, dresses were 20, and shirts were 12!! Expensive ! This is not a Bridgeville or lawrenceville consignment store . I have never left a review but this was so bad I have to. I went here after seeing a carpet they had posted on their instagram account. I was happy to see it was for sale. It was on display on the floor, with a couch and a chair covering the corners. I did not see a price tag. I went to the counter to ask for help, since the furniture needed to be moved for me to roll up the carpet. There were 3 employees chatting with each other and not one acknowledged me until I said something, after waiting at the counter for a couple moments. I asked about the price and they said they had to check with someone in the back. They said it was $40, which seemed a lot to me for a used carpet, I could have gotten a new one for 60 or 80. But the color was perfect so I said ok. (I said I had seen it online a while before, but didnt know when the post was from. They told me that after items are there for a couple weeks, they go down to half price). Someone quickly rolled it up and brought it the counter. I paid. 2 men there and neither offered to help carry it the car for me (I had a small child with me). I got home and unrolled the carpet, finally able to see the whole thing. There were HOLES in each of the 3 corners that were hidden by furniture! Now I know why they were so quick to roll it up. They didn't even tell me about the holes! Definitely wouldn't work in my living room. The best part was that I checked the instagram account. The post was from 3 weeks prior. It should have been half off- at least-, so I paid double for a carpet with 3 giant holes. Add to that, awful customer service. I haven't been back since. The carpet now lives in my basement. read more

Very expensive for a community thrift store. You're better off going to Goodwill-- same things, much much cheaper. I thought this was supposed to be for the Sharpsburgh community, but it's clear it is just grifters pandering to the new gentrification crowd. It's a shame because there are a lot of people in the neighborhood struggling and this could have been a really nice addition. read more

Fabulous new second hand store! I always come away with some amazing finds, especially in the boutique section that has high-quality designer clothes. The space is open and airy and I love the solar tables in front of the store where you can relax and charge your phone. The staff is very helpful and friendly as well. read more
