Walked into the store to get a quote for 1 item to sell. There was a line so when it was my turn the cashier told me they stopped buying at 7pm and it was 7:03 pm. I was there before 7pm and I asked since it was just 1 item if they could possibly make an exception since i was in line before then and the girl rudely rolled her eyes and told me to sign in on a tablet. I had never been here before and I told her that but she didn't explain how it worked so after I filled out the tablet, the next cashier told me they stopped buying. I told him that the other girl told me to sign in so he rolled his eyes as well and told me to talk to another lady that was not a cashier. She was an older lady who was in a very good mood and was like "Hiiiii here's your receipt for the item." And tried to take off walking to the back, so I quickly asked her what was going on if I had to wait or come back tomorrow or how this even worked. She happily explained but after 2 rude cashiers I already dislike the store and it's negative vibes. Currently waiting for my item to be quoted. The nice lady told me that no one else's item was ahead of mine so it should be a few mins to get 1 item quoted. We will see how that goes in a little bit. Other than that, I would rather pay full price somewhere else than to shop here. read more

Definitely the trashiest Clothes Mentor in San Antonio. The one in Stone Oak, even though it's wayyy smaller, is wayyy better than this one. I will not return to this location based on my experience today. I was neither greeted on my way in, nor acknowledged on my way out despite walking past TWO employees both times. Though they certainly have the highest quantity of clothes than the other locations, the quality is subpar. But actually, what was most irritating was the music playing in the store. They were playing a live album of some scream-o/rock band that was literally horrifying. Normally they play average music you'd hear in a store, intermixed with brief ads promoting Clothes Mentor, but this was just horrendous, head-pounding music. Happy to give my business to the Stone Oak location where I can shop without getting a headache. read more

As much as I love selling my designer clothes at CM, it's a shame I have to deal with poor customer service at this location (and Culebra). No greeting from sales associates, no help on the floor, store a mess, clothes and accessories all out of place. Repeatedly I had to request for assistance and no one acknowledged my presence. Overall I don't like clothes mentor because the prices are too much for used clothes. I just bought a new dress at Ross for the same price $15. A cardigan from the gap here was priced $15 it was fairly used not like new condition I considered that too be overpriced. I can probably get it new and on sale for $20. Won't shop here again just stick to Ross, tj max and Marshall's. read more

So... I've done a couple buys with the blanco location and it was fine. I went to the stone oak one and it went well, the lady then took all but half of one of my two huge bags and raved about how they needed plus size and short sleeve. I took that half a bag PLUS TWO WHOLE OTHER BAGS of newly purged clothes to the 410 location as that one is close to work. The same lady from stone oak helped me. I felt like she talked down to me for putting my stuff too close to another buy after trying to move it out from in front of my feet so I could get to the counter (they get labeled and you're worried you can't tell the buys apart, really?) and at the end, btw I think she maybe spent 15-20 mins on my buy and who knows how long on the one before me, she says, "Honey, I've seen most of this before." I said there were TWO WHOLE NEW BAGS in addition to what little was left before. I had designer shoes I don't think she even bothered to really look at. They take everything from body lotion to nasty worn tennis shoes to a like new Gucci, so I was perplexed. I had tons of plus size stuff that she hadn't "seen before." She told me to come back with my Kendra Scott stuff (I shared that I had way too much of it.) Not likely, since I won't be back to either the stone oak or 410 locations. read more

I love going into this place to find gently used clothes for work. The price point on all their clothes are very reasonable and they offer name brands. I have sold clothes here a couple of times and have found that their offers are in line with other resale shops in the area. The staff is always very friendly and helpful with suggestions. I would recommend any women new to the workforce look at increasing their wardrobe here for less then half the price than at stores. read more

Rude employees... stay away from this place. She said she sent a text message saying the offer was ready. We waited 30 minutes for them to not take any of the near mint coach purses(they were past acceptance quality). While we were waiting she asked if we were waiting on something even though we were 2 of 8 people in the store. Bad customer service. read more

I honestly didn't know what to expect having never visited a Clothes Mentor before. It's like a more "grown up" and organized version of Plato's Closet. I read a few negative reviews and honestly can't say anything negative about my experience. I was greeted the second I walked in and since I never sold to them before, the associate walked me through the process. I love that you can check in electronically. Once I checked in and turned over my stuff, I received a receipt with a coupon on it for $5 off which I wasn't expecting. I wasn't looking to purchase anything but that definitely gave me some incentive. I walked around the store for a bit and then left and about 20 minutes later got a text saying my items were ready. I went back and opted to receive store credit vs cash because it was worth more. The selection of clothes and shoes was pretty nice. I even saw a lot of items that were brand new with tags. Now that I know what type of items they buy and sell, I know items to pull from my closet next time to sell read more

Sad clothesI dropped by to sell loads of designer clothing including Alice and Olivia, DVF, Dolce & Gabana, Theory, and included less expensive hip modern items from Free People, Top Shop, etc. While waiting I checked out their clothes only to find torn and frayed tops, dirty and stained tennis shoes, and 20-30 year old rags. Lots of Agaci, Charlotte Russe...stuff that's outdated and of touch with today's fashion. read more

This Clothes Mentor is near my office and it's convenient to shop at this location. I'm thoroughly impressed with the organization of the store and the staff is always so helpful. I can go in with a specific look to shop for in mind and almost always find what I need. I was able to grab a few dresses for work and I love that it's affordable. I even found some items that still had their original tags! I recommend this place to friends that need dresses for church, casual days, or for office attire- that's what I usually shop for but the selection for shoes, belts, jewelry, tops, jeans, and many other things are available. One thing I particularly like is how things are sorted by color. It often makes my time go by much quicker when I am looking for a specific top. read more

I felt that I needed to contact you about my experience at your store yesterday. I had a slightly used Coach bag, a perfect blue designer dress, another great condition dress and slight used blouse that I tried to sell in your store. I immediately felt upon entering the store like I was a number. I waited behind another customer entering her data. Both sales clerks, I believe one was a manager, greeted me but seemed harsh and I felt like I was at the DMV or city government place, not a fun retail store. I felt intimidated and not welcomed. They said the right things but if I had their job I would be more warm and friendly. I have a Bachelor's degree, I have had a successful career, I worked at Neiman Marcus and won a customer service award. I have been in retail before and been around very wealthy people and never treated others like I felt treated yesterday. I left my umbrella at the front door and didn't even feel welcome to go back into the store to retrieve it. None of my items were good enough to be bought. I understand you have the right to buy what you are wanting to sell in your store but I feel that you are missing an opportunity. I believe my items would sell in your store. I am very socially active in this city and I will not recommend your store to anyone that I know or the selling experience in your store. read more

Omg my new favorite store! Great selection, great deals, very clean, attentive staff. I hesitate to even add this review because I almost don't want to share this store's selection with too many people...yes, I'm that in love with this store! There's a ton of great consigned name brand clothes(I.e. Miss Me Jeans for under $50 in perfect condition) shoes and jewelry at great prices. Very disappointing. I brought approximately 10 designer items worn less than a handful of times. I was given an average value of $4.75 for each piece, which was truly insulting. To make matters worse, they "lost" two items and now i don't even have them. How can you completely loose clothes the confines of a business' walls? read more

This was such a horrible experience. And like another reviewer stated--the biggest waste of my time ever! I brought in 3 designer handbags that had hardly been used. One Dooney and Bourke and two leather Brighton bags. The staff was rather unenthusiastic and unfriendly to say the least. After telling me it would take 10 minutes to review my bags, it took over 30 minutes and I finally went back to the front and asked if the items had been reviewed. They said the two Brightons were 'too out of date to put in their store' and then they proceeded to offer me $20 for the D&B! I did all I could to keep from laughing right in the associate's face. I grabbed my 3 bags back and said Thanks but no thanks!! Those bags are perfectly fine and I'm not giving them to some rip-off outfit to go resell for probably $100 a piece! I've been several times to shop and haven't found anything I like. Then I decided to take a couple of never worn shoes and a D&B purse in to sell. I bought the shoes online and I didn't like they way they fit - both Bandolinos. They said it would take 15 minutes since I only had 3 items and to wait in the store and they'd call me. 30 minutes later I wander up to the counter to ask if my stuff was ready and was told, they couldn't take any of it because it was older than 2 years old. Hmm - maybe the purse was, but the shoes weren't. Ok, I get it. You want the latest fashions. However, don't make me wait twice as long as you quoted only to tell me you didn't want to buy my stuff. It was in the middle of the day, middle of the week and they weren't busy. They need better customer service. I may go back to browse the racks only to give them one more chance. If I don't find anything they'll be off my list. read more

I shopped at Clothes Mentor yesterday and had a great experience. I am a pro at resale/consignment store shopping since I worked at a resale store for three years during college and have purchased probably 75% of my child's wardrobe second-hand over the years. I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality, selection, and price at this location. I am a plus-sized woman, which can be hard to find in resale stores, and had no problem finding good-quality, gently used clothing here. I ended up purchasing an $80 dress with tags on, four shirts, a pair of shoes, a pair of earrings, a necklace, and two purses (one Vera Bradley) for just over $100. This place will be a regular shopping stop for me as I build my professional wardrobe! read more

Took about 30 items. All very nice and clean, some fresh from dry cleaners. They told me they do not accept clothes on hangers, so I took them back to my car and removed hangers, then they said it takes them 4 hours to look at them. After 4 hours I went back , they picked 3 items and offered me $9. I had to take all the nice clothes that where left on the floor to good will store, where at least they were appreciated. Did not like the store or the stuff at all. They where very indifferent and all I know is I will never shop there or go there again. This is the first time I am writing a review about a business. I do not think they ll stay in business much longer. I will not recommend them to any one, I will Give away my unwanted items any day rather than be ing insulted by this sad place. yuk. read more

Today was my second time ever coming into a Clothes Mentor store. My first time was the North Star store just to ask questions about the star and today I visited the Culebra store to sell some items. Both experiences at both stores were great. Before coming to the Culebra store, I googled Clothes Mentor to see if I could find a closer store than the North Star store. I was so surprised to see quite a bit of bad reviews, which almost made me reconsider coming to the store. I decided to go in and check it out myself. I walked in the store with my things and was a bit nervous but when I was politely greeted by "JEN", she made me feel very welcome and explained the entire process to me. I opt to drop my things off and be texted when they were ready. I got the text and went back to the store and was again politely greeted by another associate "JESSICA" who was also just as nice as "JEN". After finishing my transaction I explained to "JESSICA" about the bad reviews that I saw online. I told her that I almost did not come in because of what I read but that I was glad that I did come in and that her and "JEN" were both so nice to me and would be the reason that I would return to this location. Well, I am so glad that I took it upon myself to check this location out instead of just going off of the reviews. Glad to report that because of the great customer service provided to me by "JEN" and "JESSICA" I will be back. Thank you ladies! :) read more

On Monday I recieved a much wanted gift card from a co-worker for Clothes Mentor. I rushed over to Clothes Mentor that evening but was extremly disappointed when i was I told I could not use the gift card until December 26. The next day I called to speak to a manager, she confirmed what I was told the day before, that they had had lots of problems with the same card i was given. It was some sort of promotion and their had been miscommunication on it. She agreed to honor the card and told me to come in and she would assist me. I went back to the store at 10 am only to be told by another sales associate that I could not use that card. The manager I spoke with tried as best she could to assist me but the other sales associate or manager would not let her help me or would not honor the card. I left the store very upset and disappointed. I called the district manager at the Stone Oak location. He listened to my complaint and went totally out of his way to bring me the clothes to my work that same day. He restored my faith in wanting to continue to shop at clothes mentor. I truly appreciate all that you did Mr. Ozzy to help me. For that reason I give Clothes Mentor 5 stars. read more
