Lots of fast food restaurants nearby if you are looking to have a picnic or eat in the park. So many benches you relax on and there is a nice 1 mile walking path around the lake. This park has a lot you can do. Soccer and football areas, play structure, fishing - can even launch a boat, small hikes and a pool. It was so lovely we actually ended up coming back to take some graduation photos. Lovely spot!

White Park is across the street from the University of New Hampshire Law School. It was 68' sunny and gorgeous as I walked the trails. The park is pristine. Zero trash, clean landscaping, well maintained playground. There's a building on the property called The Merrimack Lodge. It looks like a cafe and meeting space, but it was closed. From the illustration, the lake might be used for ice skating, and the lodge possibly serves hot chocolate and snacks. That would be nice to experience! There's a hockey court, baseball field, and a fenced in cement patio with little houses (but I couldn't figure out what that was for). Dogs were playing fetch with owners and kids were chasing birds. The hike will take someone a few hours, give or take the same few hours based on your hiking experience, pace preference, desire to stop, snack, take in the sights and explore. Get ready for a nice time out in nature when you start the trail. Parking is scarce, you'll likely just park on the side of the road (it's free though) and hope you don't get sideswiped as you start the hike. There's some definite elevation, but it's not super steep or overwhelming like some of the more challenging peaks in NH (Mt Washington for instance!). In the winter, be sure to have snow shoes and spikes. This hike is unique in the firetower at the top which you can access! Everyone I met on the trail was super COVID conscious and put masks on as I passed, which was so appreciated as well. If you're staying in the beautiful town of North Conway, this hike is only a few minutes away - so be sure to check it out! At the top, you'll see views of the tallest peak of the northeast (Mt Washington) on a clear day! I wish this trail was more of a loop, but the out and back was nice too!

Barbells, band saws, cymbals, farm implements -- all welded together in artistic ways that guide you along the path. Meanwhile, flora and fauna of unique varieties abound. Benches and chairs here and there. We strolled along and spent about 90 minutes doing the loop on the grounds. So much to see, so many deep breaths to take, plenty of picnic spots. Good bathrooms, interesting gifts, something for all ages. Hidden gem.
