Cloverdale Nursery used to be a good nursery... large selection, helpful staff, etc., but I've been twice this year and both times left without anything. I guess if you're a developer and you need 500 of the same tree it's a good place to go. But unless you know specifically what you want, and exactly where it is, don't bother. There's nobody there to help you and if you do find someone, they're not much help. At least this has been my experience this year. There are too many other nurseries where the staff is friendly, very knowledgeable, and more than happy to help. read more

Stopped in today to look at some rocks with my sister. I didn't even make it to the rocks cause I was so distracted by all the pretty flowers! They have a great variety of flowers. All so pretty and vibrant. We were just browsing today but if I ever needed flowers, this would be my go to joint. I didn't make it to the trees but I'm sure they are just as beautiful. read more

Popped in looking for a vine that attracts humming birds. Found a beautiful orange Trumpet vine. Little pricey but it was healthy & well established. Finding a cashier was a little tricky but being Mother's Day Weekend it was understandable. On Fridays & Saturdays they have fresh bread delivered. I bought the seeded sliced loaf & it was incredible. They have a small selection of flowers & vegetables & focus more on brush, trees, & shrubs. Definitely worth checking out, parking can be tight. I needed of tons of flowers and have never planted before. I was helped by the front desk and honestly find these other reviews appalling. I received nothing but great customer service from the start with office management even taking two hours with me to plan out each area of my house. I visited Cloverdale to look for 4 large pear trees. The lady that showed me the trees must be an owner, because she had the worst attitude for a sales person. No owner would have an employee that makes buyers go elsewhere. I bought 3 large trees from 2 other nursuries. I then returned to cloverdale . I walked to the trees to avoid this salesperson. I found the tree that I wanted, but it wasn't marked for identity or cost. The workers tried to help me. This employee showed up, walked over with her little caliper, measured the tree and left. Refused to tell us the type or price of the tree. I bought the tree, but I shake my head. The loaders were fine. I would only ever go back here for the product, not the service. read more

I've driven by this beautiful nursery for years and always admired the beautifully carved Bavarian-esque sign out front but never had occasion to go. Last week, I finally dug out the rest of the horribly overgrown box hedges around our front door and was ready for new curb appeal You should ALWAYS buy your plants from a stand-alone nursery instead of a big box home improvement store. There is no comparison to the quality, longevity and the ability to ask specific questions to employees at a nursery. We bought a gorgeous Japanese maple, a few azaleas and a few salvias to fill the empty space. I've never bought a tree before so I did get a bit of sticker shock ($180!) when I was browsing but was reassured by husband (who has also never bought a tree but seems to "know" all about things he has no idea about...) that that's just what they cost. I am very pleased with how it looks so I guess it's worth it. I am very familiar with shrubs and flowers however and felt satisfied with the prices there ($40 for azaleas and $9 for salvia). They are all so healthy and beautiful. Shiny leaves, tight bark and lovely blooms. The few employees that we interacted with were lovely and helpful. All of our trees and shrub needs will be met at Cloverdale! read more

Why anyone would give this business 1 Nickel of their hard earned money is beyond me! The employees are rude, disinterested and very unwilling to help. As I was explaining to the guy working there that I was looking for an evergreen tree that didn't grow to awful tall or too big in width, he interrupted me and said he has 25 acres of trees and that was a large area to cover if I wasn't sure what I wanted. I definitely will NOT recommend Cloverdale Nursery to anyone. I really think these 5 star reviews I see are completely FALSE! I am looking for some bulk soil to grow fruits and vegetables. This Nursery will not tell you the source of their soil. Hmmmm, so I am expected to grow food in mystery soil? My inclination is to think that the reason for the mystery is that their soil is toxic. read more

To bad I can leave only 1 star, I would leave no stars. These people and their customer service skills are horrible. Go somewhere else! We had never been there before and my wife was told to go outside to get a bulk sale and my wife was told to hurry, cause they close soon. What no radio to call the booth and tell them one more customer is coming? When my wife got to the both the "gentleman" in the booth was closing the door was simply just a jerk. My wife got in the truck and we left. We will never be back. These people are absolute jerks. read more

Warning! If you buy it, its yours! No if's, and's, or customer service.... My mom (70's), purchased 3 same plants...$150. Only two were planted because of looks. She went back NEXT DAY and just wanted to swap it for another plant and they refused. ALL SALES FINAL! Don't you usually do that when you're going out of business? Trust me, they are. With that kind of customer service, especially considering the amazing service (including returns and swaps still avail at other Nurseries, it's just a matter of time. They lost business from 3 families over $50 today....and I've been landscaping an acre.... Disappointed....but the money goes where the service is good.... read more

I was looking for a Box Elder tree to plant on the west side of our home and called several places in the process. Cloverdale had a nice selection of Sensation Maple on site. The tree was delivered and planted in a timely manner by three, very efficient guys. Not only did they dig a nice sized area for the new tree, but they even hauled off the excess soil. I have been to this large nursery "twice", once in 2022 and again, a few days ago in 2023. I went there simply because of their "broad plant selection" because Zamzow's, Home Depot and Lowe's were already sold out of the plants I wanted. What I had "hoped" wouldn't happen, unfortunately, happened again, only THIS time, I was waited on by a very moody, sullen and unfriendly employee named Samantha, nicknamed, "Sam." Her demeanor was already "cold" upon meeting her in person to select my plants. She seemed to do a "slow boil" when she was told there were "no carts" because they were broken or unavailable, along with "nobody" else available to assist me. I was left out in the "ornamental grasses" area for around 45 minutes in the hot sun and, already I wore a hat, I nearly had a diabetic episode because I thought it would be a "pleasant" process to select my plants for what I had wanted to be a fun project for my friend and myself! (At over $200 total, it should have been pleasant, but this "Sam" was a completely UNPROFESSIONAL, UNFRIENDLY jerk which I mentioned to her colleague when I yelled out for someone to help me. (I believe her colleague was "Jennifer"?) Upon arriving to pick up my plants 2 days later, my friend accompanied me and after we pulled up, I saw her and confirmed that she was "Sam" to which she quickly handed my transaction off to another colleague. When we picked up my plants, I had a VERY pleasant interaction with her colleagues, Javier and another Hispanic gentleman who loaded the plants in our vehicle. When I asked about "Sam," they both looked at each other and kind of looked "down" without saying anything, only that she had been there about 3 years. Her condescending, moody, unprofessional attitude towards me was palpable and for her age (40's or 50's), you'd "think" she feel "lucky" she EVEN had a job! I would have given Cloverdale Nursery "all the bells and whistles" because their plant selection is terrific, BUT if Zamzow's had had my selected plants, I MOST ASSUREDLY have gone there to where I felt GOOD spending my money in a WONDERFUL place where the customer is treated like family....NOT treated like the part of the family who were DISINHERITED! If I were Cloverdale Nursery, I would SERIOUSLY reconsider Sam as a personal rep in the Customer Service category. NOBODY should have to encounter such a sullen, unfriendly b*&$h, when Autumn, Javier and Jennifer were just the OPPOSITE!!! read more

First, let me just say that for trees and shrubs that I have priced and purchased, Cloverdale had much better prices. In some cases of larger trees as much as $100 less than competitors. But this experience pushed me to wanting to report what excellent customer service I received from them. I was shopping for an Aphrodite (dark pink with dark red center) Rose of Sharon tree and a nice man helped me find what I was looking for. I took the tree home and planted it and was eagerly anticipating the forming buds to blossom. Finally, it blossomed....into a white flower with a red center. I checked the tag again and it said Aphrodite. But, since it was healthy I decided I would have to learn to like it and tossed the receipt and tag. Two months later I went in for another purchase and the same man helped me (for the 3rd time this summer). He happened to remember that I bought the Rose of Sharon and a big Maple tree earlier and asked how I was liking them. I told him about the Rose of Sharon tree. Long story (a little) shorter, they volunteered to make my purchase good. I was offered to either wait until the coming spring for another Aphrodite tree. I elected to take their second option which was to buy one from another nursery, then they came and planted it in my spot. They originally offered to allow me to keep the white tree, but I told them I felt it was fairer for them to keep the tree to re-sell. They refunded my full price AND they won over a customer whom will shop at Cloverdale Nursery first and share my happy tree story with others looking for a business that provides the kind of great customer service businesses used to be known for. read more

I have to agree with the others that went there to buy just a plant or two. I imagine the business makes good money catering to all the builders in Meridian and could care less about individual homeowners. One day the building will stop and they will be forced to show some appreciation to the individual buyers. They'd best start looking ahead to that time or when building ends, so will they. read more

Based on all the great reviews, we went here in search of a tree or shrub we need to replace. NO ONE to help us, went inside to ask for help and was told someone would over to help us (he radio'd a worker). The worker walked up to another couple looking at plants and off they all went leaving us standing there...no acknowledgement. On their walk back we asked (again) if we could get some help and were told they are too busy, not enough help for us...so we left. This is the 2nd time this has happened to us and inside is just as bad. Always on the phone or helping with landscaping crews. Poor customer service. read more

We embarked on a major landscaping venture this spring, putting in over 50 new plants. We discovered Cloverdale Nursery at the tail end of our project and we really wish we had found it sooner. The plants from Cloverdale are performing far better that from other nurseries. They are hardier, have far more blooms( especially the roses!) and just generally look healthier. The selection was good and the staff, while quite busy, was very friendly and accommodating. read more

There's a lot of confusion and people cutting in line in front of others when trying to get loaded with soil or rock or bark. The nursery needs to have someone out there directing traffic on busier days for the customer's sake. Other than that the products I purchased were top notch. read more

Bought small tree (shrub) around 1st of April. $250+. They planted it - shrub was dead at end of summer while it was the middle tree in a row of like trees that were thriving. Called them and their answer was no warranty, pointed out signs say that. BEWARE NO WARRANTIES even when they plant it. read more

I "assumed" Cloverdale Nursery would be terribly expensive... but to my surprise these plants were HALF the cost of the chain store, and looked TWICE as good! I am a complete plant-newbie, so was REALLY fortunate to get Candace as my salesperson. She is amazingly knowledgeable (turns out her parents had a nursery in Northern Idaho, so Candace literally grew up in the business). She listened to what I wanted to achieve with the plants and made great suggestions. (She has a very sunny attitude too -- never hurts to feel like the person actually LIKES her job, and working where she does!) and I got a few plants and shrubs -- then came back the next day (first checked to make sure she was working!) and bought several more shrubs, and some trees. So far, everything is terrific, and responding just as she said they would. Could not be happier AND learned a bunch. Hope to always work with her. read more

They've got lots of trees...and rocks...and bark...and plants. Their selection of everything for your yard is really great. Their gravel we purchased for the walkways of our raised beds was super inexpensive. Overall this is a great local nursery to support. read more

I have received good advice regarding the right trees and shrubs from this nursery. Prices are good though selection is geared more toward commercial planting rather than unique plants. If you need well-known trees and shrubs, this is about the best place to shop in the area. read more
