Lovely plants and very helpful staff. I looked all over town this year for the kind of poinsettia in a salmon color and in a 6-8 inch pot. Nothing anywhere. Luckily, Edwards had smaller plants in the color I wanted, and a kind staff member kindly offered to combine two of the small plants for repotting together in the size pot I wanted. The result was just right! I also learned that there was a crop failure of poinsettias in the color I wanted which is why so few were available this year. Super cute, upscale greenhouse. Tucked off of Hill Rd, you definitely need your GPS and then watch for the Edwards Greenhouse sign to know where to go once you turn off the main road. Lots of free parking down a ways and around the greenhouses. Once Inside of several giant connected greenhouses, you'll find several areas of growing, selling, and gathering. The pop-up Park is designed for picnicking and little kid play. Fun to visit. Prices were high but they have everything garden here. read more

The front is like a little gift shop with cute items for purchase, like toys, tools, and ornaments. On a special day, Edward's is a fairy oasis, ready to delight and inspire. After walking through the front door, you can continue straight and enter a beautiful garden! They created a space for Boiseans to enjoy plants at all times of the year. You can follow the beautiful mosaic paths to enjoy fountains, topiaries, flowers, and succulents. Cute wind chimes, statues, and wind catchers are spectacled around the garden. Wow...Just Wow! I'm new to Boise. I'm also an avid gardener and been gardening for more than thirty years. I've been to many garden stores/nurseries. Nothing like Edwards have I ever experienced before. Walking into Edwards Greenhouse was overwhelming in a great way. So much to see, desire, wish to grow! Looking for simple herbs and a few flowers, I didn not need much for my small apartment lanai and the complex raised bed. But just trying to find my way around...I had to ask many times to find a particular selection of plants. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and willing to take me to whatever section I needed to visit for what I needed. However, once I found those plants it was easy to find them again. There truly is a system to what they carry and it's easy to learn their system as it makes sense. When I left the first day, still somewhat overwhelmed, I knew I'd be back soon. LOL, I was so stunned at their vast selection I forgot to buy tomato cages. Within three days I found myself back with a new list of must haves. And they had them, including an organic fertilizer for my food plants. What a delight finding Edward's Greenhouse. I look forward to many more excursions into their amazing selections. read more

Rare to find a florist that you can confidently send a plant to but I did after speaking with the super nice people at Edwards. This was a very special plant that I needed for a memory and they more than came through with a gorgeous healthy plant and a beautiful container and saucer! They even added a stunning bow! This is probably the best nursery I have ever been to, and I've been to a lot. Especially in Florida, the land of nurseries. They have everything you would ever want and in such distinctive varieties. About the same price as any other nursery. The funk factor is off the charts. You can walk and walk through the greenhouses and find little nooks for a restroom here and a planting station there. The tropicals are my favorite to check out. I don't get to hang with banana plants too much in Boise. The folks are really helpful. They will even let your daughter pet their chihuahua if you ask nice. The business is much loved by their clientèle as evidenced by patrons volunteering to pitch in and fix the shattered greenhouse after that microburst storm last spring. There is a florist that is top gear! My dad bought an arrangement for my wife and scored really big points and made me look worse that Obama made me look when he took Michelle on that date to NYC. On Tuesday's in the summer they have concerts and a farmer's market with a few vendors. Food, drink, kale, and why not get a few more herbs like a lemon verbena? Bring your own chairs. Oh baby, this place is any flower/plant-lover's dream. Seeing as I cannot keep a fern alive no matter how hard I try (I've killed 4 of them in the last year), I am AMAZED at the plant-producing machine that Edwards is. They have a massive selection of plants varying from annuals, perennials, and even fruits and veggies. I went here with the intention of "just browsing"...and of course ended up purchasing a plant. I practiced self control and allowed myself to buy just one thing. I decided on a sweet little potted flower plant for my patio (although I was tempted to buy enough plants to turn my room into a terrarium). The prices are fair - slightly higher than what you'd pay at a larger home/garden store, but for the most part are comparable. Plus, when you shop here you are a) supporting local and b) providing yourself with a "good for the soul" kind-of experience (seriously, it's blissful to just walk around in here). Other cool thing about Edwards: - They host all sorts of classes throughout the year (They post about their events on their Facebook page regularly.) - In the wintertime when all you need is a bit o' sunshine they have a pop-up park where you can enjoy the smells of fresh flowers and grass and pretend like it's spring! read more

Wow. But overwhelming to say the least! They have everything at pretty decent prices. The place is HUGE. So much assortment!

So I normally like this place because it's a cute greenhouse and nursery that Boise doesn't really have much of anything as far as varieties like it . The plants , floral and shrubs appear to be in mostly good condition. They have a small selection of gifts like gems , local jewelry and lotions , etc too . I would go as far to say that it has a little bit of everything for everyone . However, I'm almost sad to say that while I was shopping here today , to my dismay some crazed employee runs up behind me in her Chaco shoes and a lot of confidence and says " excuse me I need to take that plant . It doesn't have a price tag on it ! Confused I was just like huh , what ? and she continues on saying that her manager said he doesn't know how much it is " and they need to figure out the price first , so I in return said to her " you and your manager take things off of strangers carts because they're not priced ? She says-well it's going to be a long while before it does so I need it . I say wow okay that's really weird . I'll give you $50 bucks for it if you want , as she ignores me while talking into her wallow talkie thing like she's in some war zone this monster rampages through all the plants I had to make sure they're all priced like a drug dog , but totally covered in sweat and dripping her bodily funk all over my precious herbs , flowers , shrubs and plants and as she was finished she barked " where did you get these !? and I answered here . At the greenhouse . Right there to the right , and she walked off with my plant like nothing had happened. It was the most wildly inappropriate exchange I've had at a dirt store in my life. Very dissatisfied and felt yucky after coming here . I know for a fact the adult employees don't get paid enough to care - so I really don't know why they do ? This is a Karen establishment. Too many mean hippies and clearly not enough price tags , if I could give it one star I would because it's full of pretentious women who act like beauty queens That probably work for slave labor wages , and for that reason - I am out ! read more

Even before I set foot in this place, I was impressed. Why? As I was trying to decide what to grow, their Web site had a spreadsheet of different varieties of tomatoes, peppers, basil, squash, strawberries & etc. I could do research in advance and map out the garden plots. The spreadsheet showed which were taller, shorter, higher yield, etc. GENIUS! When I got to Edwards, I already had a list of the varieties of each type of veggie I wanted to grow. They had all the plants set out by type, then in alphabetical order by variety. It was all very easy to navigate and find what I was looking for. I appreciate that they even stock some obscure varieties, like the Cuban peppers I miss so much from Florida. (PS: They did great!) The only glitch we encountered was that they had already sold out of basil plants when we came to shop, so we selected ours elsewhere. Check-out was smooth and easy. Prices were fair. Most importantly, the quality of the plant stock was wonderful. Our plants grew big and healthy. I can see us returning year after year for our gardening needs. read more

I purchased lots of large plants and trees from Edwards when I landscaped my yard last year. I wanted to work with and support, a local nursery. All were put in properly and on a watering system. All looked good this spring until around April when after budding, two started to die. I contacted Edwards to see what my options were and was told "so sorry", we only offer a 3 month warranty. When I went to talk to them, I noticed all of their same species of trees that I bought, had the exact problem that mine did. Other nursery's in the area offer at least a year warranty. Very disappointed in the way they didn't work with me. Never another dollar waisted at Edwards. So sorry. read more

Edwards Greenhouse, shame on you! My sanctity every spring has been YOU!. I've been a faithful advocate for the locally-owned greenhouse for over 20 years. Each year I would look forward to the spring when the clouds open up, the sun comes out, and it's time to add bountiful, beautiful bouquets to new corners of my lawn, garden, and home. My daughter's looked forward to perusing your knick-knacks and purchasing a fresh flower and pot for their rooms, filling the house with the joy we have always associated with Edwards Greenhouse. I, myself, could be found spending hours upon hours perusing your beautiful flowers, enjoying the aromas, the people, and the knowledge of your staff. In fact, yesterday, we did precisely that! We visited on a drizzly Wednesday when there was little to nobody there because of the rain. We felt so proud we were able to support our local economy and be a part of your story again this year. In fact, if I added up all the funding I've spent over the years to support this locally owned establishment, it would likely be in the $40,000 range. I'm not saying this to brag, yet simply because I want to emphasize the level of funding that has been kept local and also the money that has helped your family business grow and prosper. Today was a horrible day for me for two reasons, both of which are inexcusable! 1 - We went into Edwards Greenhouse like we have every other year/spring, with excitement in our hearts, happiness in our step, and eager to peruse, find new treasures, and take home a little bit of local beauty. I started loading up our cart with all sorts of beautiful flowers and putzing away at creating my masterpiece while the girls (9 and 11) went to peruse the knick-knacks to find their own treasures to spend their well-earned report card money. Stella (my youngest, 9) came back to my cart with her head hung low, tears in her eyes, and deep sadness in her heart. NONE of these feelings were what she expected when she walked into one of her favorite establishments today. Sobbing, she proceeded to tell me that there was a really rude and mean lady upfront (by the knick-knacks) that yelled at her. She said: "go find your mother; you are not allowed to shop on your own here!" If that wasn't enough, the woman proceeded to again yell at Stella, saying: "It is mandatory that you wear a mask so you better go get one or else you need to leave this store immediately!" Stella was devastated! I was stunned that someone would treat a sweet, innocent, 9-year-old in this fashion. To attack a young, loyal shopper like Edwards did today is unforgivable. I don't talk to my kids (nor anyone) that rudely, so I damn well expect that neither will an hourly employee at a local greenhouse. 2 - Which brings me to point 2. Just as I stand up from hearing about this, I decide it's time to leave, and I start walking towards the front register with my flowers for the day, figuring we'd come back and give it a new try again tomorrow, hoping the experience would be a better one for my 9-year-old. This was when I was aggressively approached by a gentleman who invaded my personal space as he barked: "excuse you lady! Masks are required!" This was my moment of, uh oh...did I miss the memo somewhere? Flustered, I said, "I don't have a mask." He then got a very aggressive stance, raising his arm and pointing his fingers towards the door, raised his voice (so everyone within a 30-foot radius could hear him), and said: "You need to leave here immediately!" Flabberghasted for my second time by the ultimate rudeness and inhumane treatment towards people by what has always been one of my favorite spring locations to purvey, I was stunned enough to leave my cart as is and head towards the front door. As I was walking away, I overheard someone asking this same gentleman a question when he rudely interrupted her and said: "Wait! I am going to make sure that woman leaves here!" I could feel him very aggressively walking behind, making me feel as if I was an armed criminal that had just committed a hate crime and had been banished. Wanting too much to salvage anything I could for my 2020 spring memory of @EdwardsGreenhouse, I nicely turned around and asked the gentleman if I could speak to his manager. He said: "oh, I'll go ahead and get the owner, but you...you need to get out of here immediately!" Not only were the words horrid as they ran through my head, but then he started making the shewing noise and pushing his hands towards me like he was shewing me out the door. I promptly walked out of the greenhouse as fast as I could where I waited for the owner. This is when I noticed the sign that said: "Masks are required!" Had I noticed that sign before I entered, I'd probably had chosen to shop elsewhere, but the way the Edwards Greenhouse staff chose to treat their customers on two separate occasions today was unacceptable, embarrassing, and down-right hideous! When I told this story to the owner she was speechless. read more
