I am a funeral director for a high-volume funeral home in Atlanta. I ordered 12 painted butterflies for a one-year-old baby girl's funeral. The butterflies were important for her family's lasting memory of their child. I asked when the butterflies would be delivered before placing the order. The company promised to have them delivered on Friday, June 12, 2026. On Friday, at 5:00pm I received a call that the company was running behind in deliveries. I notified the representative about the importance of receiving the butterflies in a timely manner as the service was on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00AM. I was told they would be delivered on Saturday, June 13, 2026, by noon at the latest. The butterflies were never delivered on Saturday. I was left to explain their negligence to grieving parents and crying children who will never get a chance to say goodbye to their baby girl again, This was more than a butterfly delivery gone wrong - your business ruined a lifelong memory. Please do not order anything from Cloverlawn Butterflies if your event or celebration is important to you. It would be easier to go outside and catch your own butterflies than to rely on them. We loved releasing the Cloverlawn painted ladies at my husband's Celebration of Life. They were still @asleep 1 hour prior. It was only 67 degrees outside so we had to take them out of the refrigerator and wake them up for their release. Looking for a warm place I decided to run the clothes dryer, open the dryer door and let them enjoy the gentle heat. We did this half a dozen times before releasing the butterflies. We were careful not to sit them in the stopped dryer if it was too warm -just cozy heat with door just cracked open, It worked they all launched. My sister recently died, and I wanted something about the service to be memorable for the 4 grandchildren (ages 4, 5, 8 and 15). The people at Cloverlawn were very helpful customizing a package of 4 boxes, each with 25 butterflies for me. I asked them to choose 4 different pastel colors for the ribbons on the white boxes. The box arrived exactly as promised and I followed the clear directions enclosed. Just before the service, each of the grandchildren chose a box and "hid" it in the shade near the columbarium on this warm sunny day. The children behaved beautifully for the 45 min service! At the end of service, as everyone processed to the columbarius, each child retrieved their box. They held them until they received the "GO" sign. The children opened their boxes and were mesmerized as the butterflies lazily stretched, checked out the area -- then flew away. I doubt that the youngsters will remember much about the service -- but they will always remember their delight at the butterflies! read more

I paid a lot of money for shipping... 45 dollars. My butterflies were different colors. I was expecting all gold/black. I was dissatisfied with the size of them as well.....kinda small they were. I was expecting them to be bigger. I followed instructions to the T. I took them out of refrigerator 45 minutes before release. I heard them moving hyper in envelopes... very active but most flew off envelopes and flew to the ground. So maybe instf should be 1 hour before going to release or more f them to fly up... ‍ idk. read more

I placed an order online on Saturday night, I figured that they wouldn't be shipped until today (Monday) but they still reached out to me, and let me know, they also forwarded over the instructions for once the butterflies get to me. Not Good!! I did not receive the butterflies ordered for a wedding in Calif. They are the ones that determine when they are shipped. A provision should be made for at least the possibility of a small delay. The shipment date is set up for perfect conditions happening with the shipper. There is no allowance for any delay at all. We all know perfection is rare in shipping. Very disappointed in their customer service when discussing this afterwards. Their attitude was...You bought it, we shipped it, you are on your own! I get it! But you were the one that decided when to ship! I imagine if everything had happened perfectly it would have been a great experience. I'll never know! Would not recommend. If you do, I'd at least buy from another firm as well so hopefully one would show up!! Follow up to my review yesterday. After the package arrived 3 days late I checked tracking from Fedex. The last thing you want to do after losing your mother is spend time and energy on disputing the cause of $195 worth of 100 dead butterflies. After several conversations and now emails disputing the details of why these ladies died- the bottom line is "We are not Amazon and you did not read the instructions, good luck with your credit card companies claim..." Bottom line, order from these guys and most likely everything might work out. But, by chance it's over 90 degrees on a summer day and you are relying on cold packs, it may not work out. And, these guys will blame you and all you will get is an offer to send you more butterflies after your event is over when you really want to move on with your life and get through your grief. Got a Fed Ex shipping email label with tracking # several days prior to the shipment date. Butterflies arrived just as expected on Sat am for a Sun release. Easy instructions in box and video on website was also helpful. We took the box out of the refrigerator about 45 min before release and all butterflies were alive. From the phone calls for information to the ordering and the delivery was exceptional! I received several texts from FedEx about the delivery. I was nervous because the butterflies were being delivered to a hotel since I was traveling to the funeral location. The hotel received the butterflies and stored them until my arrival. I recently placed an order for 100 butterflies for my grandmother's funeral. The butterflies were shipped overnight to California during the summer. Our package came with clear and full instructions that made our experience easy. We decided to release the butterflies during her burial and they lingered around the site for a while after. This company promised butterflies would be to me in time for my daughters celebration of life and promised they would be alive !!! They did not get them to fedex in time for them to be overnighted to me and I never received for the celebration of life !! I was so sad as my daughter loved butterflies when I called to get a refund the manager would not even speak with me, they kept saying she would call me in 10 min. I called every 10 minutes a total of 22 times then they said she was going to email me! I told the person that answered the phone to tell her I said she was a coward!!! Not to speak to me in person !! She can not even face me and of course then she came on the the line and then said to me " take it up with fedex and hung up on me !! How ridiculous!! I spent $210 for these butterflies and now the were blaming fedex When they did not even bring to fedex until 6:59 pm in Florida for a delivery to burbank ca. By 12noon the next morning I was never going to get them on time !! Then they were delayed by FedEx and they were never gonna come to my house till five days later! I refuse the package at that moment why would I except a package with dead butterflies after I already lost my daughter. How sad for our family was this and then for them to blame FedEx when it was their fault. I would not recommend this company they are heartless and have no compassion. Not to mention they charged me extra $55 to get them to me overnight because the celebration of life was on a Sunday. We ordered butterflies for my sister's memorial service and due to mother nature we were unable to receive them in time. Our little church held a "Celebrate Life" service in memory of loved ones who have passed away. Kelly and Tiffany worked with us every step of the way to make sure our order was exactly as we wanted it. They answered every one of our questions thoroughly and cheerfully. When we had an overnight delivery glitch, they worked with us to solve the problem. Our butterflies made it to Pennsylvania safe and sound. We had 100% of our butterflies alive and ready to fly! The participants loved the entire event, although we did have to caution them when walking around afterward. The butterflies flew but many needed to land in the grass until they built up strength. They may have still been a little groggy from being in the refrigerator. :-) A local farmer said that he saw a lot of butterflies at this place the next day too.
